Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: The Heavenly God Took The Fall

Yoru stands frozen at the door, in shock and speechless. He turns over the events of the past, how he had come before Mother Genesis to receive his punishment, how Her Holiness was silent for a suspiciously long time before she granted him a judgment and cast him out of his role as a Supreme Deity. In those arduous days of regret, shame, and guilt, he never doubted that there was a third party involved in his trial. The disdain in those lowly gods and goddesses' eyes, the mockery they muttered without care behind his back, the sneering laugh at how easy he took the bait of a demigod – Yoru had borne them all, thinking the gods and goddesses were never on his side, the opportunists who are always waiting for a chance to beat an already fallen sinner.

 They were taught to be benevolent and forgiving, Yoru thinks bitterly, but they forgot those teachings as quickly as the wind sweeping through the vast desert, carrying with it the seed of love and caring.
