Chapter 9 - 9: Master and Servant!

Card Draw Accepted!

After a brief loading on the system's user interface, a two-dimensional character profile card shimmered onto the screen.

Large text appeared, revealing "Cashier Professional."

There was even a beautiful picture of the woman in her uniform, along with her name, current age, personality, and background information.

The card displayed a complete profile of the person, detailing her skills and abilities.

This… could be a real person? Aria thought, her heart quickening.

She didn't waste another breath and tapped to open the card. Slowly, an adult woman in her mid-twenties began to emerge, stepping out of a rift in reality.

"Eh… who are you!?" Samantha Wills stepped back, shocked by her sudden appearance in this strange place.

"Where am I? I remember… I remember I was on the road, and then… an accident."

"Yes, it said here, Samantha Wills got into a road accident, died on the spot. You are a dead person now." Aria announced, stands up and looked into the other woman with a curiosity on her eyes. However, in order not to appear insensitive she let the other take the truth well first as she just stands there.

Samantha Will, she is a young adult woman who was working in the grocery store as a casheir woman, and her everyday life are all over going to receive customers with their payments for what they bought.

Unfortunately, she had been caught in a road accident while just walking along the roadside.

It felt incredibly unfair.

Samantha Will had been minding her own business, yet she had actually died, a fact that was almost impossible to accept in the first few minutes of realizing it.

But when she wants to know why she is here and alive, an artificial voice from something called System revealed a series of shocking truths.

"You are now in another world, this is not your original world. The Stationmaster of the Heavenly Train System is your one and only master. You cannot harm, betray, or kill your master, and if you even dare to think of it, your soul will be scattered to dust. Never be reborn again."

Realizing that the master the system's voice had spoken of was the young woman in pink before her, years younger and seemingly not easy to deal with—Samantha's heart grew complicated.

She fully understood that she could do nothing to harm the person she would now call her master.

She had to become a good and obedient servant and remain completely loyal.

If she failed, her soul would perish across thousands of worlds, never to be reborn again.

This was something entirely unexpected, and Samantha had never dared to imagine in her life that she would become a servant to anyone.

Nevertheless, she did not dare to hate the younger woman before her.

Samantha loved her life too much to risk her soul disappearing, not even a wisp of it.

"Hello, Master. I am your servant, please give me your orders." This greeting was required by the system, to ensure that the contract between master and servant was fully and officially bound.

"Ok, okay, stand up, no need to kneel." All the details Aria needed had already been explained by the Fluff Ball system.

Her intuition had been correct, the card draw system really was like a gacha.

Although Aria didn't approve of the master–servant arrangement, there was nothing she could do.

The master couldn't reject a servant, or the servant's life and soul would be extinguished instantly.

As for her personal trust issues, the system had already assured her that no servant would betray their master, with the system watching their heart and soul for any sins.

After a long conversation while waiting for the stations closing time, Aria already has explained the workings of the Heavenly Train System as well as the reality of the outside world with mutant monsters and zombies.

Samantha was shocked to learn that this world was not ordinary, but dangerous, yet her heart was unafraid.

Instead, she found herself growing much more comfortable with Aria as her master.

Aria was clearly not the type to abuse her power or authority.

If someone else had been given this kind of opportunity, to have servants who could not betray them, who knew what might have happened.

Aria assigned Samantha to the Cashier Booth as a Ticket Attendant at the Wishing Stop Station.

Aria had already anticipated that this role would need filling, she just hadn't expected the candidate to come from the system's pool.

Samantha accepted without complaint, having worked as a cashier professional in a big grocery mall, she figured being a ticket attendant at a train station wouldn't be much harder.

Additionally, she realized her new life as a servant might not be so bad after all. She had a powerful master with a magical train system, and a job that would allow her to support herself well.

Nothing had really changed from her original life, though now she had a master to serve, and no one else needed to know unless it was necessary.

Aria was not the type of person to humiliate her for the sake of being her servant.

Samantha felt completely at ease, with no worries in her heart, until she fell asleep in the staff area.

While everyone was asleep, Aria reflected on her first day in this world. It hadn't been so bad, especially with her magical golden finger, though she still felt a twinge of fear about the future.

Huddled on a chair beside Samantha, she thought about her plans, perhaps she would purchase a nice house outside the station tomorrow.

A soft comfy bed is much better than a sets of chairs moved together.

[ Host, next task mission alert! Please hire two helpers for your train station, secure five more passengers, and open the next station to the next city. ]

"Understood. I'll take care of it tomorrow. I just want to sleep first, okay…" Aria closed her eyes, quietly imagining a soft pillow to hug and a steaming breakfast waiting for her in the morning.

[Passenger alert: Three people have arrived in the waiting area. ]
