Chapter 99: Dragon Slayer Magic
Noah pointed to the area where the girls were gathered. Erza, Ultear, Cana, Sorano, Kagura, and Yukino were all sitting and chatting together. When they saw Noah looking at them, they all waved.
Wendy was still a little scared. Noah took her hand and led her directly over to them. "Wendy is still a bit shy and not used to the environment here. I'm leaving her in your care."
"Of course! I'll take good care of her," Erza immediately responded, her eyes shining. Wendy was a little intimidated by her enthusiasm.
Ultear said with a sigh, "Just ignore Erza. You can leave Wendy with us."
"Then, Wendy, you have a good chat with these big sisters. I'm going over there for a bit," Noah said, pointing in another direction where Laxus, Simon, Gray, Lyon, and Natsu were.
After entrusting Wendy to Ultear, Noah walked over to Laxus's side and started chatting with them. Ultear began to talk to Wendy, and the other girls joined in.
They hadn't spoken more than a few sentences before Natsu and Gray started fighting again, and Lyon jumped in as well. The three of them were brawling wildly. Erza, seeing the fight start, was about to go and stop them, but Ultear held her back. She pointed towards Noah, who had already stood up and was walking towards them.
Noah hadn't wanted to bother with the three of them—fighting in Fairy Tail was no big deal—and he was in the middle of hearing about Laxus's S-Class requests. Laxus had seen many more people and things since starting his S-Class missions and had become much more mature. He was sharing his recent adventures with Noah and Simon. Simon, who had also been tempered by two years of requests, had also changed a lot and become much more stable.
But the fight between Natsu and the others was getting more and more intense. Several mugs came flying towards Noah, which he casually batted away. The splashing liquid was also blocked by his magic, but it had interrupted their conversation.
Noah got up, walked over, and gave each of them a punch. They all squatted on the ground, clutching their heads in pain.
"Who's this guy? He feels as strong and scary as Erza," Natsu muttered from the ground, nursing the new lump on his head.
"You're wrong about that," Lyon whispered from the side. "He's way scarier than Erza."
Natsu was clearly shocked. "Even scarier than Erza?!"
Noah walked up to Natsu, who held his head and asked, "What do you want?"
"You and Wendy both use Dragon Slayer magic. I'm a little curious. Can you have a fight with me?"
"You want to fight me?" The moment he heard the word "fight," Natsu became excited.
Noah nodded. "Let's go outside. It's easy to break things in here." With that, he led the way out of the guild, and Natsu followed closely behind. The other guild members, hearing there was a show to watch, quickly followed them out.
Everyone gathered in a circle in front of the guild. Noah first set up a protective formula around the area, then stood opposite Natsu.
"Come on!" Noah beckoned to him.
Natsu clenched his fists, which erupted in flames, and charged straight at him. "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"
Golden magic power gathered in Noah's hand, and he caught Natsu's punch directly. Feeling the power in the blow, he pushed, sending Natsu back to his original spot. "Continue."
Natsu, undeterred, ignited both his arms, the flames extending like whips. "Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!" he yelled, swinging the fiery whips as he charged.
"Gravity Magic!" Noah made no other move. A magic circle appeared above Natsu's head, and a huge gravitational force slammed him to the ground. The flames on his arms went out as he lost control.
Without maintaining the spell, Noah released his control. Natsu pushed himself up, his entire body erupting in flames, and he charged at Noah headfirst. "Fire Dragon's Sword Horn!"
"Ice-Make!" Noah clapped his hands together, and several chains made of ice shot up from the ground, binding Natsu and slamming him to the ground like a salted fish. Natsu's body flared with fire, trying to burn through the chains, but they didn't change at all.
Noah didn't want to end the match just like that, so with a wave of his hand, the ice chains vanished. "Continue. Use whatever moves you have."
Natsu climbed up from the ground. "You'd better be careful!" He took a deep breath, puffing out his cheeks. He cupped his hands in front of his mouth and blew. "Fire Dragon's Roar!"
A magic circle appeared in front of him, and a torrent of fire shot out, heading straight for Noah.
"Air Magic!" With a wave of his hand, a magic circle appeared in front of Noah. A large amount of air gathered, forming a wall that blocked the attack. Natsu's flames hit the air wall and were stopped completely, unable to break through. The fire scattered to the sides, where it was blocked by the protective formula, not affecting the surroundings. After burning for a while with no effect, Natsu stopped.
He was now panting, his magic power severely depleted. Seeing this, Noah dispelled the air wall. "Do you have any other moves? It looks like you're almost out of magic."
"It's not over yet! Take this!" Natsu mustered his remaining magic, flames igniting on both his hands. He leaped into the air and brought his hands together above his head, forming a giant fireball. "Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame!"
He threw the fireball at Noah. A wave of heat washed over everyone. Noah held out his right hand, and golden magic gathered in it, transforming into light that poured out and formed a giant golden hand. The golden hand caught the fireball Natsu had thrown, and with a squeeze, it was extinguished. Natsu was clearly stunned by this sight. He was also out of energy, and his legs gave out, and he sat down on the ground.
Noah retracted his magic, and the golden hand vanished. He thought for a moment, then a ball of golden fire appeared in his hand, and he tossed it to Natsu.
Seeing the fire being thrown at him, Natsu reached out, caught it, and began to eat it.
"He... he can eat fire!"
The surrounding guild members, who had been watching the spectacle, had never expected to see someone literally eat fire. Their eyes were wide with amazement.
