Chapter 108 - Chapter 109: The Droid Rebellion

Based on the image in his memory, Amir quickly spotted a black-robed figure lingering in the crowd.

"Of course not. We won't harm a Senator. But we can't turn a blind eye to illegal mercenaries trespassing on our territory." The assistant gave a hand signal, and the drones aimed their guns at the armed mercenaries surrounding the Senator.

"Drop your weapons, or we'll be forced to take extreme measures!"

Hearing the assistant's words, the group still showed no signs of tension. They even turned to look at each other and laugh.

"Perhaps you should see who these droids listen to." The Senator raised his hand and waved it casually.

As he waved, all the surrounding security droids and drones, as if by agreement, collectively rebelled, turning their guns toward the clinic's entrance.

The faces of the two people standing at the door changed drastically. They hadn't expected these people to have already seized control of their entire security grid.

This couldn't have been done by this one minor Senator. He must have someone more powerful, someone who understood the space station's architecture, backing him.

"Now, get Kahraman out here." The Senator delivered his final ultimatum.

The assistant and the guard looked at each other, both revealing expressions of grim determination. This was clearly a premeditated invasion. Now that they had lost their greatest weapon, Kahraman would be a lamb to the slaughter if he came out, with no bargaining chips. All they could do now was warn the doctor and immediately activate the space station's final layer of defense, resisting with all their might.

Activate fortress mode. Protect the main buildings under a heavy shield, and use the entire space station's hidden fixed turrets to counter-attack, or stall for time and wait for their partners' support.

Regardless, this would be a heavy blow to the Eternal Ark, perhaps even a fatal disaster. But there was no other choice.

The assistant secretly reached his hand behind his back and pressed a button on his miniature communicator.

In the brief moment the button was pressed, the entire space station was bathed in red warning lights. The onlookers finally realized the severity of the situation and began to flee toward the port.

Seven key buildings were distributed in different corners of the space station. At this moment, their exteriors were all enveloped in shimmering shields. Their steel skins began to open like scales, as if a sleeping beast was awakening, revealing its fangs. A dense array of heavy weapons emerged.

By now, the assistant had drawn his blaster pistol. The mechanical female guard, facing a dozen mercenaries, charged forward. Several sharp blades popped out of her cybernetics. At this distance, close combat was definitely more threatening than firearms, especially since her modified body possessed strength several times that of a normal person.

Seeing the entire space station enter a defensive state, the Senator waved his hand angrily, wanting to order the surrounding droids to attack—to eliminate all armed resistance in sight, and then slowly take what he wanted.

But this time, the droids did not follow his command.

Just as the assistant prepared to fire, the hundreds of droids around them suddenly turned their muzzles again, aiming once more at their true enemies—the mercenaries.

This time, all the accomplices, including the Senator, froze. Under the aim of hundreds of guns, they completely forgot their previous arrogance, not daring to move.

But one person did not stop.

The fully mechanical female guard instantly became a tiger among sheep. With agile skill and formidable strength, she knocked down all the mercenaries blocking her path, rapidly closing in on the panicked politician. She crouched slightly. The next second, her alloy leg became a silver blur. A powerful kick struck the Senator's hover-chair, flipping the heavy seat over. The flustered man screamed as he was thrown through the air and crashed to the ground.

"What are you doing! Attack her!! Fire, you stupid, damn droids!" The Senator clutched his bleeding nose, shouting with all his might. But the mercenaries had long since lost their will to fight.

A hard foot stepped on his head, pressing his mouth tightly to the floor, silencing him.

Only then did the female guard notice the strange situation around her. She had been prepared to die, but nothing she expected had happened. It was as if time had stopped. She looked around in a daze, suddenly realizing the droids seemed to be on their side again.

At this moment, a familiar figure appeared in the distance, carrying an unconscious person over his shoulder and holding a datapad, walking toward them. A little girl followed behind him.

"Why did you hit him?" Milisen chased after Amir, asking. "Hitting people is bad! It hurts a lot to be hit!"

"It's fine. He didn't feel any pain," Amir explained patiently.

"But he screamed."

"He was scared."

"Oh."

Amir walked up to the assistant, who was still holding his blaster, and tossed the datapad to him.

The assistant dropped his gun and fumbled to catch the device.

"He's the one who was controlling these droids. I don't know if he has any other tricks. You should go check the main control unit immediately," Amir said. These security droids, unlike free droids, didn't operate independently but were managed by a central control. This was more stable and efficient, but it also easily became a vulnerability for others to exploit.

"They're already on it. May I ask who you are?" the assistant asked, bewildered.

"I'm a patient," Amir said, pointing to the clinic.

"I've seen him." At this, the fully modified female guard walked over, dragging the unconscious Senator. "My name is Euphemia Warner."

"You did this?" Euphemia's face was unreadable.

"Um... I saw him acting suspiciously." Amir held up the unconscious hacker in his hand, not knowing how to explain the Force precognition simply.

"Thank you." The assistant came forward and let out a long breath. "Without you, our losses would have been catastrophic. What reward do you want? I'll give you anything in my power."

"No need. It was nothing. Kahraman and I are friends," Amir said.

"Maybe we can have him treat us to Kula-kula dessert!" Milisen said seriously, looking up at the adults.

"Take this. You can eat anything for free." Euphemia walked up and handed Milisen a platinum card.

Amir looked at the card in surprise. Such a good thing exists? I take back what I said, I want one too!

"All the core staff here have one. I don't need to eat, so it's a waste for me to hold onto it," Euphemia said flatly.

Milisen looked at the card as if it were a miracle, her small mouth wide open.

"Also, I personally owe you one," Euphemia said to Amir.

"Don't worry about it."

The assistant didn't linger. He seemed to have received a message. After thanking Amir again, he rushed out with the swarm of droids to secure the station. After this incident, there would surely be a lot of cleanup.

Amir didn't linger either and walked back into the clinic.
