Chapter 118 - Chapter 120: The Shattered Ice Layer

If he wasn't mistaken, the contents inside were extremely important to Hondo, and their value was certainly high.

Hondo had antagonized an entire pirate gang just to acquire this haul. After escaping the cruiser, he hadn't forgotten to retrieve it. Even now, when there was clearly a safer way to leave the icy plains of Hoth, he had taken a gamble and launched a sneak attack.

This all proved he didn't want to lose this thing.

Amir walked into the escape pod and looked inside. The space was small. Amir had been wondering how such a large box could fit, but after getting closer, he found the entire box wasn't in there. Hondo had likely broken down the contents into parts—including a full backpack, a safe, and scattered currency and metal ingots inside the pod.

"Looks like it crashed hard. What a mess. A pity the person is fine." Amir picked up a bag and started collecting. This stuff was valuable.

He packed everything, whether he recognized it or not. Amir didn't open some of the boxes for now. He stuffed some of the metal ingots that wouldn't fit into his own bag. This stuff had to be worth at least a hundred thousand credits.

Carrying the large and small bags, Amir returned to the Traveler. 32 nodded at him, indicating that Hondo was locked up.

Amir placed the pile of loot in the main hall and went to the cockpit. The little interlude was over. The Traveler took off again, heading for the foot of the ruins-mountain.

It was the same old place. Ahsoka's ship was already waiting. Amir landed smoothly nearby.

"Get on my ship. We'll go directly to the platform I found," Amir said, walking down from the ship and shouting to Ahsoka, who was waiting in the snow.

"Okay, coming." Ahsoka dragged an ice pick out of her ship and walked over, dragging it across the ground.

"Did Obi-Wan give you any useful information?" Ahsoka asked as she boarded the Traveler and Amir returned to the cockpit.

"He gave me a holocron. It has some knowledge about history and ruins. Master Yoda's lecture."

"Oh~ I think I know which one." Ahsoka rolled her eyes. It seemed she probably hadn't paid attention back then.

"Taking off," Amir gave a heads-up, and the Traveler took off again, heading into the dark fissure.

"Hello, Milisen. Mona says hi," Ahsoka said.

"Really?" Milisen was delighted.

"Of course. She also asked me to bring you this." Ahsoka took a palm-sized white feather from her clothes.

"Is this?! A Yunyin feather?" Milisen asked.

"Mona picked it up while taking care of Yunyin. She said you would definitely like it."

"Of course I like it!" Milisen admired her gift from all angles, unable to put it down. After a moment, she stuck the feather into her felt hat.

Soon, the ship landed on the ice platform. The group walked out. Milisen showed off her new look to Amir.

It was clear the two children had completely reconciled, and their relationship would be even stronger than before.

"I already dug out the passage last time. Let's go straight in." Amir ignited his lightsaber, illuminating the clean platform. He had already thrown Charles's body into the fissure—a fitting end.

Ahsoka also activated her lightsaber.

"Ahsoka! Why is your lightsaber white?" Milisen asked.

"They used to be red. The crystals inside were harmed. I used the Force to purify their wounds, and they turned this pure white," Ahsoka said.

She had obtained the lightsabers in her hands from an Imperial Inquisitor a few years ago. The scarlet blades were purified by her pure light-side Force, turning an unprecedented white.

The kyber crystals in Imperial Inquisitors' lightsabers were different from those of the Jedi. The Jedi would take younglings to caves rich in kyber crystals, letting the younglings enter on their own to complete their trials and be chosen by a crystal, like companions relying on each other. Lightsabers made this way could unleash greater power in their hands.

But the Imperial Inquisitors and Sith would use their dark side Force to oppress and torture the kyber crystals, forcing them to submit. The red blades were often called the "blood" of the kyber crystal. Possessing the Empire's most advanced technology, they would also use synthetic kyber crystals. These crystals had higher performance than natural ones and could make a lightsaber stronger, but as most Jedi believed: they had no soul.

"Can I do that too? Purify a red lightsaber? Amir never lets me use the red one. If it turns white, Amir won't stop me," Milisen said.

"Do you want to be a Jedi apprentice, Milisen?" Ahsoka asked with a smile.

"Jedi apprentice?" Milisen thought for a moment. "Like Amir?"

"Of course. Amir is Master Obi-Wan's apprentice right now," Ahsoka replied.

"Yes! I want to be like Amir! Can I be Amir's apprentice?" Milisen asked.

"You'll have to wait until he graduates from Obi-Wan. Then he'll take you to make your first lightsaber," Ahsoka said, looking at Amir up ahead.

"I've only been an apprentice for less than a month, and I'm graduating already?" Amir said with feigned surprise.

"Hahaha, special times call for special measures. In the old days, masters and apprentices always moved together," Ahsoka said.

Ouch, right in the feels, Ahsoka. Amir silently sympathized with himself, then said, "It'll be soon. When we attack the main experimental base, Obi-Wan will join."

"Really?" Ahsoka said, pleasantly surprised. "That's... that's great! With Master Obi-Wan's help, we'll definitely be more successful."

"Have you confirmed the location?" Amir asked.

"We've confirmed the target planet. We've already sent people to scout. We need to act as soon as possible. If we wait too long, it's easy to alert them. Plus, you just destroyed one of their cruisers. Their strength is at a weak point right now," Ahsoka replied.

The culprit, 32, adjusted his hat from the side.

Chatting as they went, the group reached the end of the passage.

It was the same familiar hall. BD-4 once again acted as a flashlight.

"Let's break the ice first. This temple is indeed very similar to the one on Adrian. It should also be built by the Massassi civilization. I just don't know if it was discovered by the Jedi and converted into a Jedi Temple," Ahsoka said, looking at the wall.

"Or a Sith one," Amir added.

"These paintings on the wall are so pretty! Just like the stars in the sky!" Milisen observed the mural behind the ice, using BD-4's light.

Amir was about to break the ice. Following Milisen's words, he looked over and saw that she was right.

"Stars connected to form patterns... Did the Massassi believe in constellations?" Amir thought.

"Crack!" Ahsoka's ice pick had already struck the ice. With a light sound, spiderweb-like cracks radiated outward from the hammer's impact.

Amir used the Force to pull. The stuck ice blocks scattered onto the ground, revealing the rough stone wall.

Amir increasingly felt that the central part of the stone wall was a door. Not just because it was shaped like a door, but because all the surrounding patterns converged at the center of this wall.

Like a shining star surrounded by its planets.

"Let me try this time," Amir said.

Closing his eyes, Amir connected with the surrounding Force and spread his perception forward.

Soon, a smile appeared on Amir's face.
