Chapter 119 - Chapter 121: The Static Illusion

"Sure enough, the interference with the Force last time wasn't as strong as it is now," Amir thought to himself.

This time, under his Force vision, everything around him was more detailed. Amir easily discovered the hidden mechanism in front of him.

"It's similar to the one on Adrian, but a bit different," Amir said. "The real mechanism is behind this wall. It's called a wall, but like Adrian, it's composed of countless huge stone blocks, some cubes, some rectangular. To solve the puzzle, you have to move these blocks."

Amir closed his eyes, his right hand moving slightly. A continuous rumbling sound came from the stone wall in front of him.

"Ah? Why is it shaking!" Milisen asked in surprise.

Soon, under Amir's control, the stone wall pushed inward, then moved left into a reserved gap, revealing a tunnel leading inside.

"Is it possible... you could have just pulled them out one by one?" Ahsoka asked uncertainly. As she said this, Amir's smiling expression instantly froze.

Pulling them out... would only require... okay, moving two blocks. I just moved a massive piece of engineering inside the structure.

Amir swallowed and forced a laugh. "Not a big deal. As long as the result is the same."

At this, Amir looked at the wide platform and the smooth ice surface, only now realizing it was meant to hold the stone blocks that were pulled out!

It seems I can't overthink things in the future.

"Let's go," Amir led the way.

"Let's go, let's go!" Milisen walked forward with her hands in her pockets, bouncing, but Amir put his hand on her head, stopping her.

"Huh?"

"Get to the back. Something's not right here," Amir said.

"After opening the entrance, the uncomfortable feeling from before is even stronger," Ahsoka said, gripping her lightsaber.

"Sss~~~" A sound that made one's skin crawl suddenly came from ahead. A swarm of small, winged creatures flew straight at them.

32 quickly stepped forward, blocking the chaotic impact with his alloy body.

"No damage." After the wave passed, Amir saw that 32's clothes were not torn. Milisen wasn't scared either; instead, she was looking around curiously.

"There's another entrance here!" Ahsoka said.

Having creatures inside meant it had to be connected to the outside somewhere else.

"What do you think?" Ahsoka asked Amir.

"These creatures' emotions are very agitated. It's not like they're just flying around because they were startled," Amir recalled. "And outside the ruins, I sensed the Force inside was very... chaotic. I couldn't see any details."

"Many Massassi temples were built in places where the Force converges. The convergence of the Force from multiple directions can sometimes be more stable, convenient for meditation and sensing. But it can also become very chaotic, like now," Ahsoka explained.

"Oh, so that's how it is." Amir understood. The Force was certainly not evenly distributed throughout the galaxy. It flowed. In the process of flowing, it converged, just like water. Streams converge into rivers, then continue to converge into lakes, or even oceans.

These lakes and oceans were Force nexuses. The Force in these places would be denser than the surrounding areas. The Force carried information from the far reaches of the universe, converging here, exchanging content, and spreading it out again.

If a Jedi Temple was built in one of these places, two Jedi Masters half a galaxy apart could even communicate through the flow of the Force.

For example, the powerful Master Yoda could even project his voice and image directly to a Jedi Temple several star sectors away.

"I feel like there's something incredible in here," Amir said.

"We'll see soon enough," Ahsoka said, guarding the rear.

Walking to the end of the passage, Amir felt a strange smell permeating the air.

"Do you smell that?" Ahsoka asked.

"Smelled it. But it's not toxic," Amir said, looking at his wristguard.

"Let me find a light first..." Amir didn't quickly find the light switch this time. Instead, he moved cautiously, using his lightsaber to illuminate the path, searching. His Force perception seemed to have failed after entering the ruins.

This was the result of the chaotic Force field.

"Here!" Milisen and BD-4 found a lampstand in the hall. Amir approached and successfully used the Force to turn on its switch, but it only illuminated a small area.

But it was fine. Because of this small patch of light, the other surrounding lampstands were revealed.

"Alright, looks like we have to turn..." Amir was halfway through his sentence when a muffled echo suddenly appeared in his mind. It vanished a moment later, making him wonder if he had really heard it, like a hallucination.

"What's wrong?" Ahsoka turned on a lamp and noticed Amir's strange behavior.

"Did you hear... okay, you definitely didn't," Amir said, his vigilance increasing.

Suddenly, Amir felt it was too quiet. He turned to look around and found that Milisen and BD-4 had disappeared somewhere.

"Milisen?" Amir shouted, but there was no response.

"32, did you see them?"

32 was standing right nearby, studying a lampstand. But he didn't respond, as if in a daze.

"32?" Amir called again, but still got no answer.

"Ahsoka?" Amir felt something was increasingly wrong. He immediately turned his head to look at Ahsoka.

Ahsoka was also frozen, holding the same posture she had when she just asked him a question, staring blankly in front of a lamp. Her static expression and unblinking eyes sent a chill down Amir's spine.

"Ahsoka!" Amir shouted loudly, but Ahsoka didn't react at all.

Everything in front of him seemed to have frozen at a certain moment, no longer moving. Even the flickering lamplight had stopped flickering.

Amir tried to walk toward Ahsoka, but the path under his feet seemed to be infinitely stretched. He couldn't get any closer, no matter what.

Everything around him began to blur, making it difficult for Amir to keep his eyes open.

"There's nothing that could make them all stop moving. So this is all an illusion? Am I the one with the problem?" Amir thought.

At this time, the muffled voice appeared in his ear again. But this time, Amir heard it clearly.

"Come... here..."

"Where?" Amir focused his mind, sensing the Force around him, trying to find any clue to break his current predicament. But all he sensed was chaos. Amir gradually became agitated. He began to worry if the others were in the same situation, or worse, facing danger. Milisen wasn't even in his line of sight!

This ruin held an unknown that he couldn't understand.

"Come... here..." The voice sounded again.

Amir frowned tightly. He wanted to do something, but he didn't know how. He clenched his fists; the sensation of touch was so real. He couldn't get any useful information from sensing the Force. Moving felt like treading in place.

With no other ideas, Amir had to focus on the voice in his head. Following the direction of the voice, Amir took a step forward.

"It's working..." Amir finally felt himself move relative to his surroundings.
