Chapter 179 - Chapter 181: Maz Kanata

Amir looked at the scene with satisfaction. A standard deflector shield couldn't stop an attack like that. Now, he had a sharp weapon for aerial combat.

A small Death Star installed on his ship—just ask yourself if you're scared.

Just as Amir was about to return, a communication request from Ahsoka came through.

"Amir, I received your message. You're looking for Bo-Katan?"

Amir nodded. "To be precise, I'm looking for the branch of Mandalorians resisting the Empire."

"I asked around through my intelligence network. Someone spotted them on the planet Takodana."

"Takodana?" The name sounded very familiar to Amir.

"It's Pirate Queen Maz Kanata's territory. It's very famous among smugglers and criminals. I'll send you the coordinates and route shortly. By the way, why are you looking for them?"

Amir thought for a moment but decided not to tell Ahsoka the full truth. He didn't intend to invest too much effort in dealing with Crimson Dawn personally; he just wanted to use a piece of information to stir up conflict. There was no need to get Ahsoka and the others involved.

"Just to do some business with them . . ."

"Alright. Contact me anytime if you need other help."

After the two smiled and said goodbye, Amir received the coordinate data not long after.

Once Ahsoka mentioned Maz Kanata, Amir remembered this planet. He had seen it in the archives.

Throughout years of war, this planet had maintained neutrality and hadn't been disturbed by the fires of battle. Coupled with the protection of the Pirate Queen, Maz Kanata, no one was willing to cause trouble there.

As a result, Maz's castle on this planet became a sanctuary and gathering place for smugglers, criminals, bounty hunters, and the like from all over the galaxy.

Would Mandalorians appear there?

Were they there to ask for help, or simply to hide?

Amir decided to go take a look. Kahraman was busy with other things, so he had nothing to do for the time being.

Returning to the Eternal Ark, Amir picked up 32 and Milisen, brought along BD-4, and set off together toward Takodana.

. . .

After waiting in hyperspace for a while, the ship appeared on the outskirts of a verdant green planet.

Seeing this planet, Amir's mood improved instantly.

Breaking through the atmosphere, Amir slowly felt the lush earth, the light flowing water, and the clear white clouds.

Sitting to the side, Milisen and 32 also liked the scenery very much.

"You should see Alderaan. It is just as beautiful." Amir didn't spare any effort in promoting his favorite planet.

Following the coordinates, Amir saw an ancient castle nestled against mountains and water in the distance.

Even from afar, Amir could feel the liveliness of the castle. Various ships were constantly entering and exiting, crowded and busy.

As he got closer, Amir flew The Traveler toward the landing pad and suddenly noticed a familiar ship parked right next to his spot.

The Millennium Falcon!

If nothing unexpected had happened, Han Solo was here, too.

Walking off the ship, Milisen was immediately attracted by the style of the ancient castle. The tall, grayish-white walls were connected by circular arches, and hundreds of colorful flags fluttered near the pointed tops of the towers, brimming with a passionate charm.

The atmosphere here was exactly that.

Whether they were pirates, smugglers, explorers, or criminals, once they arrived here, there was no fighting and no politics. Everyone could seek whatever they wanted here—whether it was commissions, intelligence, loans, or trades—or simply enjoy the happiness brought by music, alcohol, and gambling.

Amir tightened his grip on Milisen's small hand. He couldn't let her learn bad habits from this group of scoundrels.

BD-4 spontaneously began taking pictures of the surroundings. This had become its main profession. Sometimes BD-4 doubted why it had so many functions installed when it hadn't used them for a long time. The only usable one seemed to be this scanner.

Bzzzt! Its shock prod was itching to be used.

Walking in through an entrance and passing through a noisy crowd, Amir went up to the second floor. He heard Han Solo's voice from far away.

Sure enough, at a gambling table, the blonde Corellian was crossing his legs and arrogantly slapping the table.

"Are you calling?! Dal Shor, Little Virginie? You guys might still win!"

Although the people around him were very annoyed, they helplessly folded their cards. This damned pretty boy played cards really well.

Han Solo pulled the chips toward him, turned his head, and saw Amir.

"Amir?! Come here, come here! Everyone, meet Amir. Haha, he once helped me out big time. Forgive me, I have to buy him a drink." Han Solo smiled slyly at Amir, put down his legs from the table, slipped over, and draped his arm around Amir's shoulder.

"Han Solo? Running away as soon as you win money? You gutless coward."

"Shut up! Little Virginie, just be happy secretly. If I didn't leave, you'd lose even worse today!" Han Solo retorted unceremoniously.

"What about you, Amir? What are you doing here? Bringing a child here isn't a wise choice."

Beside them, Milisen's eyes were wide as she observed everything around her, not hearing Han speak at all.

"I didn't expect to see you here either. You've been doing well recently?" Amir looked at Han Solo with a smile. He was even wearing a brand-new leather jacket.

"Hehe, I ran the Kessel Run with the Falcon," Han Solo raised his head. "I did it in less than 13 parsecs! Impressive, right? I made a lot of money on that trip. Here! Come back to the Millennium Falcon with me later, and I'll pay back the money I owe you."

Amir gave him an appreciative look, then said, "No need to pay it back. I heard there was Mandalorian activity here. Have you seen them?"

"Mandalorians? Let me think. Two people in full armor did come by a few days ago. Two women. I don't know if they're the ones you're looking for."

Amir nodded. "That should be them. Are they still here?"

"I don't know about that. The castle is huge; who knows which corner they've scurried to today. I can ask around for you. I know a lot of people here!"

Amir curled his lip helplessly. Han Solo had made a name for himself now and was in high spirits, radiating pride and arrogance. But it was interesting to watch; Amir was looking forward to the day society beat him down a peg.

Leaving 32 to watch over Milisen while they played nearby, Amir followed Han Solo toward the interior of the castle.

The two wound their way through the halls and arrived at a parlor. Inside, an old woman with orange skin and large goggles was enjoying a leisurely moment.

She was Maz Kanata, the owner of this castle. There was probably no one in the galaxy with more experience in the underworld than her; she had lived for over a thousand years.
