Chapter 2 - Between Tears and Memories

[ASTRA'S POV]

I closed my eyes after seeing that this whole farce had come to an end.

I still believe it was stupid to make such a low-level mistake. It's impossible for someone considered a genius in the business world to fall into such a simple trap. But I have no one to blame but myself; after all, it seems I'm the only one responsible for my misfortune.

After closing my eyes, I felt myself slowly begin to fall into a void.

What will happen now?

Will my family miss me? Will they be okay?

Will Luna be sad for me?

Will they be okay?

I'm so scared. Will I cease to exist?

Can this stop?

Thousands of images from my life flashed before my eyes.

My parents' smiles when I came home with good news, the sparkle in their eyes every time I accomplished something, no matter how small.

My sister, running around the garden with an infectious laugh, celebrating my triumphs as if they were hers.

The beautiful family moments: simple but warm meals, movies cuddled up under a blanket on the couch, trivial arguments that always ended in laughter.

The day I kissed Luna for the first time; the world seemed to stop, and for a few seconds I believed everything in life made sense.

I took her to meet my family, and although I was nervous, she won everyone over with that sweetness of hers that seemed to envelop everything.

Family dinners with her were even more special… cross conversations, endless jokes, and knowing glances that made us dream of a future together.

Tears ran wildly down my cheeks, like when I was a kid and fell off my bike. In that moment, I realized I wasn't crying just for what I was losing, but for everything I could never experience again.

I don't want to leave them; I want to be with them forever. I want to start a family with Luna. I want to help my parents live a better life.

Please help…

Although my words were only in my thoughts, I said them in the hope of holding on to some opportunity. But, it seemed that reality was different. My body was enveloped in a gloomy coldness, while my eyes began to close after immense exhaustion. I no longer felt any part of my body. As extreme sadness filled me in my final moments, I could see a light that I assumed would be the end of my path. It was so bright that in the end, I could only close my eyes.

Goodbye, Mom and Dad. Don't be sad for me.

Goodbye, Melody. Take good care of them.

Goodbye, Luna. I hope you can be strong and overcome me.

Thank you… for everything.

Inside a room, a group of busy people could be seen.

The room was luxuriously decorated; the details within it showed the financial strength of its owners. Although the decor was luxurious, it leaned more toward elegance than ostentation.

On the bed in the room lay a beautiful woman with snow-white hair. Her light blue eyes conveyed a calmness so profound that one glance was enough to feel that everything would be all right. Although her belly betrayed her pregnancy, her figure still retained the elegance and proportion that would have aroused the envy of many women around the world. A warm aura of motherhood seemed to float around her; being near her was like returning to a mother's safe embrace. She was the kind of serene and luminous beauty that kingdoms would surely have gone to war for.

Moreover, one could see from the expressions on her face that this beautiful woman was going through great pain.

"Master, please don't give up, you're close to achieving it."

The one who spoke was one of the group, dressed as an English maid.

"I know... who would have thought that despite my strength, this would still be painful?"

The woman on the bed responded with difficulty, her voice melodious and pleasant to hear.

"Come on, Stella, he's almost there," said a woman whose beauty matched that of the figure lying on the bed. Although her features were slightly less delicate, she possessed a different charm, just as impossible to ignore. Her body, with its pronounced curves and slender figure, radiated natural sensuality, arousing admiration and desire in equal measure. The glossy brown of her hair contrasted with her intense blue eyes, and her mature, confident, and serene demeanor left anyone who passed her speechless.

"He's coming, here he is, here he is," said a maid who was assisting with the delivery.

"Waaah waaah."

The cry of a baby filled the room, bringing relief to the women present. Even the maids waiting outside sighed upon hearing it.

"Congratulations, Master Stella, the young master was born without complications."

The maid continued, holding the newborn Astra.

"Congratulations, Stella. We now have a new member in our family."

The other woman responded excitedly.

"Thank you, Amelia, I really don't know if I could do it alone," Stella said with some difficulty. Her breathing was a little labored, and her face was a little pale, with several beads of sweat forming on it.

After who knows how long, while Astra was overwhelmed by his feelings that had exploded after a deep introspection on his deathbed, he found himself in a situation where his emotions were bursting forth.

Suddenly, he felt light hit his face, and the tears he thought he'd lost began to run down his face again. After this, he felt something was happening, so he slowly stopped crying and opened his eyes slowly. The dim light around him touched his eyes, causing him to squint in order to adjust.

"What's going on?!"

"I... didn't die?" That was his first thought.

After a while, the first thing he saw when he opened his eyes was a gigantic woman in a maid outfit holding him in her arms. He was very puzzled at that moment. The maid had looked very pretty and could have been considered a high-class beauty in his previous life. To think that she was just a maid here was a bit astonishing. She was a blue-haired beauty. Although he couldn't see her figure, he could feel that she was definitely good-looking.

But the maid's beauty wasn't what really mattered to him at this moment; it was her size. He tried to move his arms, and that's when he realized. His arm was that of a baby. As a faithful reader of novels in his previous life, he understood very well that he must have been reborn.
