The moment Jiang Lei's steps carried him closer, Shen Yi's shoulders tensed. His hand tightened imperceptibly around the gun, but he kept it lowered, refusing to raise it against this man who, regardless of their hostility, was Jiang Qi's father. His expression remained calm as usual, though his eyes followed every movement with a cautiousness.
Jiang Lei stopped just a few feet away from him, before he spoke coldly. "What is it you want from my son?"
Shen Yi's lips parted slightly, but he said nothing. His gaze did not waver, yet he offered no answer.
Jiang Lei's brows furrowed, irritation flashing openly across his face. "Young man, who sent you here?"
Still, Shen Yi kept quiet, his calmness almost provoking, as though his refusal to speak was its own kind of defiance.
