The sun had already gone down by the time Shen Yi opened his eyes again. He could clearly see Jiang Qi who, as expected, had not left his side even once. Jiang Qi had been sitting quietly on a small couch near the bed, and the moment he noticed Shen Yi waking up, he rushed forward with quick steps until he was standing right beside him.
"Are you fine?" Jiang Qi asked in a low voice filled with concern.
Shen Yi simply smiled and nodded in reply.
Jiang Qi froze for a moment, because it was still difficult for him to get used to Shen Yi smiling like that. To him, Shen Yi's smile or laughter had always been like a rare treasure, something so uncommon that it only appeared once in a long while, maybe even once in a whole season. But today, he had seen it more than once already, and he could not help but feel overwhelmed by that sudden joy. He lifted his hand slowly, his movements gentle as though afraid it might vanish, and with his thumb he traced over Shen Yi's lips.
