Inside Jiang Qi's study room, the atmosphere was a bit tense, with the kind of silence that pressed down on the chest. Jiang Qi and Jiang Yan were seated on a couch, their expressions carrying seriousness, neither of them making light of the matter at hand.
"I think now is the time where I tell you 'I warned you'. Now what do you have to say?" Jiang Yan spoke at last, his voice flat. His eyes were empty as if drained of emotion.
Jiang Qi's lips curved slightly upward, but there was no warmth in his eyes. Instead, they were cold and dangerous, though still restrained. "Then what should I do? Kill him?"
Jiang Yan stayed silent for a short while, his jaw tightening, before replying, "If it's the only way, yes. He desperately wants you dead. You already know that."
Jiang Qi glanced briefly at him, then stood up from the couch. He walked to his desk and turned, now with his back facing Jiang Yan.
