Jiang Qi walked out of the bathroom with Shen Yi cradled gently in his arms. Shen Yi was half asleep, his body limp against Jiang Qi's chest, as though the last bit of strength had drained away. Jiang Qi carefully laid him down on the bed, pulling the blanket aside so that he would not be cold. Once Shen Yi was settled, Jiang Qi went to the closet and pulled out a suit, dressing quickly and neatly before grabbing a pair of clean pajamas.
He returned to the bedside, crouched down, and spoke softly. "Shen Yi, put these on."
A low hum came from the bed. Shen Yi blinked his heavy eyes open, and for a moment it seemed like he wanted to get up. He tried to swing his legs off the bed, but they trembled and refused to hold him. With no strength left, he collapsed back onto the mattress with a hiss, the pain in his back making him wince. His gaze lifted toward Jiang Qi, who was smiling down at him. Yet even with the smile, guilt flickered faintly across Jiang Qi's face.
