Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Gatto Notes: As Promised, here's the bonus chapter!!

Enjoy~

[=============================]

*Sob*

"Waaa!! It seems that my luck is as shitty as ever!" I sobbed, as I looked at the 7 white, and 3 blue cards on top of the altar.

Signifying that I had only obtained 1 and 2 star items.

So, I listlessly stepped towards the altar, and picked up the cards one after another, and sat down on the steps of the stairs, before looking through them.

The 7 common cards bore pictures of different items, an example is a basket of Appa's (Apples), A few steamed Sweet Potatoes made by Ram, some different types of Flowers, regular weapons and equipment like a novice blade or leather tunic.

And as for the three 2★ cards.

The first one showed a familiar white and purple Robe, Most Notably worn by Emilia and Subaru.

Recognition Obstruction Robe.

As for the other 2.

The first one was a pair of Conversation Mirrors, which is basically similar to a phone, making it basically useless.

and the last one was an unexpected—

Divine Protection.

More specifically, the Divine Protection of Bedroom Wiles.

I Looked at the last card speechlessly, because the card basically confirms that I am able to obtain Divine Protection from Re:Zero, meaning, I might have the chance to get those OP divine Protection like Divine Protection of Death God, and such.

Still, this card makes me have mixed feelings, because the Divine Protection in this card only makes me good in "bed activities".

"Ahem … " I pocketed the said card, containing the Divine Protection.

I plan to use it later when I'm able to do those activities freely when my body gets older.

"Oh no~ I sure hope I don't draw any Onee-san characters in the next rolls.." I dramatically voiced, while putting away the rest of the cards in my pocket— planning on using them once I finished using all my draws.

"Alright! So far, so good."I muttered faintly, satisfied by what I got from the first 10 draws.

Getting a Divine Protection was quite a surprise, a welcomes one no less, and—

I'm sure my beginner's luck will persist on this second 10 consecutive draws.

And as for the seven 1★ draws beforehand?

Completely forgotten.

"A man will only find happiness through contentment." That was one of the Motto that I followed through.

So, although I might complain about my shitty luck, most of the time, I always do my best to be thankful for the little things that I receive.

So.

Without further Ado— I pressed the roll button, full of excitement and expectations on what I will get next.

And—

....

...…..

Underworld— Agares Estate.(???? POV)

Inside a luxurious study filled with the smell of paperwork.

*BANG*

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN "SHE'S DEAD"!?" I Exclaimed in fury, after receiving perhaps one of the most horrible news I had gotten since the great war, many years ago.

Tokimi, one of the few women who really loved me just for being "me".

The only other woman, who bore a "fruit" of our love.

And the woman— Who I was planning on announcing as my last concubine and the very reason why I was swamped with all this paperwork in the first place, has died.

I took a deep long breath, trying to ease the rage that's boiling inside me. I felt like a Volcano ready to erupt with the slightest misstep.

"Explain." I asked gravely, whilst simultaneously thinking about possibilities on how this happened.

[Y-Yes!!]The man on the phone nervously before he started explaining what happened.

…..

....

"...*sigh* So it was my fault…" I sighed heavily and inwardly scolded myself for being careless.

Still…. "Who knew our child would invoke 'that' phenomenon…" I groaned, as I felt conflicting emotions.

On one hand, this should have been a joyous occasion, as those who are able to invoke the Time Drain while being a child is a sign of them being an unparalleled talent in Time Manipulation, much like Sirzechs with Power of Destruction.

If only I was a bit faster,I could have reincarnated Tokime as a Devil before our son drained her of her time.

She would have survived, and I would have gotten an heir on par with Sirzechs.

What's more… Tokimi was most likely a descendant of someone related to the supernatural world.

Because, it took our son too long to drain all her time.

I mulled things over, while tapping the wooden office table in front of me, a habit I gained from living with Tokimi.

It took a while to compose myself, as I took one final deep breath and muttered.

" 'Take care' of the people who were assigned to monitor the two."

[It will be done, Lord Agares.]

"Good… And have someone prepare a car for me. It's time for me to meet my son again…and… ask for his forgiveness."

[...Yes, Lord Agares.] The man on the phone solemnly answered.

(Kaldezar POV End)

...

.....

"HELL TO THE YES!!" I jumped around the altar like I had won the lottery.

I was ecstatic!! For I got not just 1, but 2 4★ Pulls!!

So, saying that I won the lottery wasn't exactly wrong.

(A/N: I forgot to mention before… I use "Picker Wheel"/"Wheel of names" for the Gacha. So it's all completely random.)

As for the rest?

two, 3★Pulls— for Abilities/Skills and Items each.

one, 2★ Character

one of each 1★ Character and Abilities/Skills.

And the rest, were all 1★ Item Pulls.

I looked eagerly at the Cards that slowly fell, and formed into a small deck as it landed on the altar's ground.

Full of excitement, I hurriedly picked up the 10 cards before I sat on the ground as I flipped the cards one after another.

Starting from the 1★ Item Pulls, which were:

A bottle of the finest Fire Wine.

A Bouquet of flowers native to the Re:Zero World.

And lastly, a small pouch of Karnago Powder.

Each of their names was more strange than the last.

Thankfully, the cards contain not just the Item's image, but also their description and effects.

The fire Wine, was as its name suggests, an alcoholic beverage, which surpassed even the finest wine there is in this world.

Well, the normal side of this world at least, because without a doubt, some of the long lived gods and devils in this world have an even stronger brew.

The second one, the bouquet was simply named as "Sleeping Bouquet", and its effects were pretty straightforward, making those who smell it fall asleep in a split second.

Hidden among the beautiful flowers was a special kind of flower, a Muskrim which can make someone fall asleep with just its smell.

What's more, this Muskrim was a special one, it was a significantly enhanced specimen that would make even a large sized Mabeast fall asleep once it caught a whiff of its scent.

And lastly, the final 1★ Item, a small pouch of Karnago Powder, which can be used to erase a person's odor along with the powder's smell within minutes if applied to the body.

I nodded in satisfaction seeing these three cards, as each of them could come in handy in the future.

Especially the Karnago Powder. It would be a divine auxiliary item for escaping and monitoring someone—or in short, espionage.

Moving on, The next two 1★ Cards were the Skill/Ability Card, and the Character Card respectively.

And seeing these two made me raise my expectations on the higher ranked cards even more.

Why?

Because what I saw from the two cards greatly satisfied me.

The First card, The Ability/Skill Card had given me [Entry Level Flow Method Mastery]

Which was basically a body enhancing method which uses mana that the user will guide to flow in their body, significantly enhancing their body strength and durability.

One of the most well known users of the Flow Method was the former Thug, Gaston.

One of the three thugs who had killed the story's protagonist in one of his loops in the series.

He was known by the fans not because he was strong, in fact, it quite the opposite as ,as he was just a normal human.p

But later in the story, when felt— After recruiting the three thugs under her banner and assigned a teacher to teach him.

He was able to tank one of the Archbishop of Gluttony's attacks, and even managed to render his weapon unusable.

Which was quite a considerable feat, considering he was once just a rat in the slums, mugging people for their things.

Still, that wasn't the thing that made me greatly happy, it was the next card, which contains a character who I can decide whether to assimilate or summon.

Yes, Assimilate, meaning, I might actually get strong hella fast if I roll some OP characters like Rimuru tempest and the like.

And what's more, although the character I had just gotten isn't quite strong, and In fact, she's just a normal human— But.

Seeing her made me really excited!

"Petra!" I gazed at the card with a fervent look before relaxing.

Why? Because, I didn't really plan on summoning her, she is after all, just a normal village girl.

A girl who shouldn't be separated from her parents just because of my whims. Well, I'm being hypocritical here, considering that I'm most definitely gonna summon characters that I like when I get them.

"Sigh… let's just leave those philosophical pondering to the future."I mumbled before I re

and the card's description.

As I read through the card's description, I couldn't help but frown at first, before I sighed in relief.

"Hmm… This is both a happy yet also a sad conclusion to my problem just now." I muttered with a complicated face.

Because— On one hand, my previous worry about separating the summoned characters from their loved ones turned out to be an unfounded worry.

But the reason why— Is because these characters that I'm summoning are all from timelines where they and their loved ones are dead.

"Guh… She's older than me. Well, biologically at least." My eyes couldn't help but twitch, after seeing her age.

Currently I'm 8 years old. A VERY young age, although I don't mind, but.

Living alone as an 8 year old… Is without a doubt, quite troublesome.

Not just with everyday life but…

I'm pretty vulnerable, and considering that in this world, stray devils that eat people, and other monsters exist.

Then—

*Chuckles* "I'm in danger." I couldn't help but mutter.

Thankfully, I have the Gacha Altar. I can just protect myself using the items I draw— and also asking the characters I get to protect me.

Yeah-, I really hope the 4★ character, and Item I got can protect me.

Although I did in fact get the skill/ability card for the entry level flow method. In the end, it's exactly just that– Entry Level.

And it isn't enough, considering the world ending threats that will happen in the upcoming decade.

Call me paranoid but, I like to ensure my life's safety, thank you.

Heck, I still don't know the reason why I died in my previous life in the first place.

I can't recall anything.

Anyhow, coming back to the task at hand.

"Petra Leyte. She's not that strong, but she has potential… If I remember correctly, Yang Magic is primarily for Buffs, which opposes that of Yin magic that's primarily used for debuffs."

And while Petra's Jiwald was pretty weak in the series— with it only able to scorch skins and not more.

It's noteworthy to mention that Yang magic is passively influenced by the user's thoughts and feelings.

And Petra being the kind child she was, didn't really want to hurt anyone.

And as I mentioned before, Yang Magic's main specialization lies in its Buff granting capabilities.

And although it might not be a game changer at first, once trained to a high level, any magic can be a means of protection.

Besides, with my Gacha Temple, I'm sure I can get items that can enhance me and my summoned characters sooner or later.

"Alright! It's decided, I'll summon Petra later in the future, once I have enough power to protect myself and others." I nodded resolutely before I flipped over the next card.

Speaking of which, the next card is yet another Character card, a 2★ one.

And once again, the character is part of the Emilia camp, and is in fact Petra's friend as well.

"Meili Portroute, huh? Hmm… Same with Petra, I'll summon both of them once I can protect the two of them." I muttered before putting the card aside.

It's not that I'm looking down on them, but Meili's Divine Protection of Demon Manipulation will be useless in this world, since this world does not have Witch Beast.

Adding to the fact that she is, in fact just a child.(Even though I'm younger)

And honestly, Instead of summoning her, I would rather assimilate her card so I can get her Divine Protection for myself.

As for her dying if I don't summon her? Well, all I can say is…

I am not a saint.

Even if I did summon her, I'm not gonna be able to save her in every timeline that she dies. Do I feel any guilt at all?

Of course I do, but… I know that, even right now, every second, every nanosecond, or even less, there's a bunch of Meili's and Petra's and others dying out there, in the infinite timelines.

Heck, I'm most likely the same. An infinite number of me out there might be dying as I think of this.

But it's no use thinking about it, so instead, I'll just live my life the way as I see fit, for me, and all my suffering selves out there in the multiverse.

Same with the characters I summon.

Anyways, On to the next cards!!

Full of excitement, I didn't bother flipping them one by one anymore. Instead, I flipped them all at the same time.

And…

"Eh?!??!!"
