Chapter 71 - Logic Be Damned

After several minutes of traveling, Nert finally stopped—only because he didn't dare go any farther.

Kelly groaned as he quickly set her down. She limped slightly, water splashing around her as she steadied herself.

That's right. It was water now. The mud was gone, replaced by a knee-deep river flowing with bones.

Large bones jutted out of the river, some forming small, fragile islands. The crystal-clear water was packed with thousands of bones moving in a relentless tide.

And on those islands of bones, Draconian nobles were clashing with the army of skeletons. The force of their battle steadily chipped away at the fragile bone islands, sending fragments tumbling into the river and adding to the already overwhelming bony current.

As if that wasn't bad enough, through the chaos of battle Kelly caught sight of familiar bloodline abilities—ones she had no business encountering right now.
