Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Barbatos's Equipment

Mu said with his arms crossed,

"So those children can't get in, right? How will they be accommodated?"

Muryu looked at Mikazuki, softly calling,

"Mikazuki-kun."

"Hmm?"

Mikazuki looked up, confused, at Muryu.

"What is it?"

"Do you have any plans for what to do next?"

Mikazuki answered Muryu's question while eating.

"Follow you."

Muryu was somewhat pleased. Mikazuki's joining meant the Archangel would gain an extremely powerful combat force to protect them. At the same time, she was curious.

"Really? Can you tell me why?"

"Ah, the reason? It's simple. For some reason, I have to fight."

"Fight? For some reason? What is it?"

Natarle asked, confused.

Mikazuki put down his clean plate, gulped some water, and after a satisfied burp, answered her.

"I can't say. In short, following this battleship will lead to battles. And the person who brought me here has already gone back. I can't leave this place on my own."

This was indeed true. Although operating a shuttle was simpler than a Gundam, Mikazuki wasn't like Eugene and the others. He couldn't operate anything other than a Gundam frame with an Alaya-Vijnana System or a Mobile Worker.

"If there's a battle, I'll sortie to protect you. You don't need to pay me; just provide food and lodging."

Muryu felt a strange, somewhat bittersweet emotion in her heart upon hearing this.

"No other demands?"

"Mm, no."

Mikazuki stood up, clapped his hands, and said to Muryu,

"Do you have any large-caliber smoothbore cannons here?"

"Large-caliber smoothbore cannons? Hold on, let me check."

Muryu opened the computer on the captain's chair and looked through the Archangel's MS weapon equipment information.

"We do have smoothbore cannons, but the caliber isn't particularly large, only 115mm."

115mm? Mikazuki thought for a moment. It seemed the smoothbore cannon he originally equipped only had a caliber of 130mm. 115mm and 130...

Well, to be honest, Mikazuki didn't quite understand the difference between the two. Being uneducated, he felt the two numbers weren't much different.

"Okay, this one. Can I use it?"

Muryu glanced at Natarle and Mu. Their expressions indicated she should decide herself. After all, she was the highest-ranking officer on this battleship now.

Moreover, in the current situation, having an extra combat force was only beneficial.

"No problem. I'll contact the maintenance crew to prepare the smoothbore cannon for you now.

Anything else you need?"

"Mm... Do you have the weapon I have in my hand here?"

Mikazuki thought for a moment, then asked a question whose answer Orga had already told him.

"That weapon that looks like a hammer and a spear? Unfortunately, your weapon is too rare. The Archangel doesn't have it."

Although he was mentally prepared, Mikazuki was still a bit disappointed. He preferred straightforward, direct weapons like that.

Although the hammer-mace was still fine now, if he lost it or it was destroyed in future battles due to his rough usage, where would he find a replacement?

So now he planned to deal with some lesser foes by keeping the hammer-mace aside and using close-combat weapons that could replace it.

Muryu saw Mikazuki's somewhat disappointed expression and couldn't bear it. She couldn't help but say,

"The Strike Gundam's Sword Striker pack has a 15.78-meter long anti-ship sword. Can that be used as a replacement?"

"Anti-ship sword?"

Muryu tapped the computer beside her. The data for the anti-ship sword appeared on the screen.

Mikazuki approached. After seeing the anti-ship sword's appearance, his eyebrows rose. Wasn't that the katana he had used?

Seeing Mikazuki seemingly become interested in the anti-ship sword, Muryu's eyes lit up. She displayed all the data for the Strike Gundam's Sword Striker pack and offered a good suggestion.

"Mikazuki-kun, how about your mobile suit uses the Strike Gundam's Sword Striker pack?

We can modify it for you. We'll mount the smoothbore cannon you want on the side of the right thruster. The anti-ship sword will be on the left. Then the Sword Striker's rocket anchor and beam boomerang will be installed on the left arm."

Mikazuki's eyes sparkled as he listened to Muryu's suggestion.

"Good, just like that. I'm counting on you."

Seeing the smile blossom on Mikazuki's face, Muryu's mood also brightened. Her previously somewhat gloomy mood due to the current situation dissipated considerably. She chuckled,

"No problem. Besides, we'll be counting on you to protect us."

With that, she picked up the phone beside her and dialed the number for the busy maintenance crew on the deck, instructing them to prepare special customized Sword Striker pack equipment for Barbatos.

Kojiro Mad-Dock, the head of the maintenance crew on the deck, busy repairing the Moebius Zero, hung up the phone and looked up at the wolf-like mobile suit.

"Modify it for Sword Striker pack usage for this guy, huh? Fortunately, this ship has no shortage of Strike Gundam equipment.

Alright, for my own life... little ones, put the MA repair aside for now. Quickly prepare the Sword Striker pack and the 115mm smoothbore cannon, and the MS auxiliary support stand. Hurry!"

Mikazuki left the bridge to help on the deck. Only Muryu, Mu, and Natarle remained on the bridge.

Watching Mikazuki's figure disappear down the corridor, Muryu turned to her two colleagues and asked,

"What do you two think?"

Mu chuckled and spread his hands.

"Haven't you already made your decision? Why are you asking us?"

"Yeah."

Muryu gave a wry smile. To be honest, she was still a bit confused herself, both about the current situation and about Mikazuki.
