"Want to ask something?" Fukasaku gave Ye Liang a suspicious look, but didn't attack again.
From their brief exchange just now, Fukasaku had already determined Ye Liang's strength—he was an opponent even stronger than Jiraiya!
Someone like this could only be dealt with if the Toad Sage himself showed up.
"Kero kero! Who are you! Why are you behind me!" Gamatatsu finally realized what happened. He looked at Ye Liang fearfully, shrinking behind Fukasaku.
"According to what I know, the Toad Sage has the ability to foresee the future. I've come here simply to ask about my own future. No other intentions at all."
"Ask about the future?" Fukasaku fell into thought.
His master indeed had the ability to foresee the future, but he was already extremely old. If Ye Liang suddenly attacked and killed the Toad Sage during their conversation, Mount Myoboku might completely collapse.
"If you don't believe me, I'm willing to bind my own hands to show sincerity." Ye Liang seemed to have noticed Fukasaku's hesitation. He immediately used chakra to summon vines that bound his own wrists tightly. [A technique made possible only through advanced Sage Art]
"This is..." Fukasaku was first stunned, then started breaking out in a heavy sweat. "Alright, alright! I'll take you to meet Elder Gamabunta right away!"
He readily agreed!
Who could possibly know how Ye Liang managed to use chakra to manipulate vines like that!
What seemed ordinary to him looked completely different in Fukasaku's eyes!
The vines of Mount Myoboku were infused with immense sage chakra. To control these vines, one needed to use sage chakra too—and at a very high level.
To summon vines from nothing required chakra at the level of a sage. In other words, Ye Liang had already completed Sage Transformation!
Someone like this, not even Fukasaku—or even the Toad Sage himself—would stand a chance against Ye Liang!
Fukasaku had seriously underestimated Ye Liang's strength before!
"The Toad Sage is inside. Please follow me, Lord Ye Liang." His attitude shifted completely. Within half a second, Fukasaku's demeanor had completely changed.
Ye Liang was briefly stunned. He hadn't expected Fukasaku to be this polite.
After all, it was just an old toad.
An old man? How could his temper be so good?
"Fine, then please take me in immediately."
Ye Liang didn't think much of it and assumed he'd just impressed them with his sincerity.
Ignoring the longing gaze of Gamatatsu nearby, the two strode directly into the secret chamber behind Fukasaku.
Water dripped inside.
After all, it was a toad dwelling. Even if it was a sage, he would surely prefer a damp environment.
Lord Ye Liang, the Toad Sage is inside. He is very old and has memory issues. Please be patient," Fukasaku said, and led Ye Liang deeper into the secret chamber.
"Oh man, this place is huge!" As soon as Ye Liang entered, he saw the Toad Sage lying on a chair. He was as large as the White Snake Sage, though not reaching the size of Gamabunta.
"Fukasaku, why have you brought someone in here without permission? Don't you know the old man is sleeping!" An elderly female toad scolded Fukasaku angrily.
Her name was Shima, wife of the Toad Sage Fukasaku and a senior attendant to the Great Toad Sage.
"Shima! How dare you speak to Ye Liang like that? Hurry up and announce his arrival to the Great Toad Sage!" Fukasaku suddenly scolded her.
But just out of Ye Liang's sight, he desperately made urgent gestures and winking at her.
Woman! I've done all I can. If you keep acting so arrogant and domineering, I can't save you anymore!
His expressions were already obvious enough, but Shima couldn't understand her husband's subtle signals at all and kept shouting furiously.
"What kind of 'Lord' Ye Liang? Who does he think he is calling himself 'Lord' in front of Lord Gamamaru, the Toad Sage?" she mocked mercilessly.
That's how all women are — brainless and dumb. Even a female toad can't escape this rule!
"Shima, what did you just say?! Looks like I haven't disciplined you enough lately — you're really flying high now!" Fukasaku shouted in shock as he rushed forward, attempting to strike his wife.
Ye Liang helplessly smiled. He now fully understood the situation.
Fukasaku was clearly trying to stop his wife.
Better to take a beating than lose your life!
"Slap!"
A hard slap landed on Shima's face, leaving her completely stunned.
"Fukasaku! After all these years together, you actually hit me! You actually dared to hit me!" Shima complained before immediately lunging back at him.
At that moment, the previously sleeping Toad Sage suddenly spoke.
"Fukasaku, I had a dream today about a handsome young man who brought four children with him — [Naruto] and the others. Each of them seemed destined to be a child of hope."
The great sage stretched lazily and sat up stiffly. He glanced around at all the toads, looking a little confused.
He'd only taken a quick nap — why were these two fighting again?
"Oh my oh my, you two are married! You shouldn't behave like this!" The Toad Sage reprimanded them but then noticed Ye Liang standing nearby.
"And who might this gentleman be? Hmm, isn't this exactly the person from my dream today?" The Toad Sage uttered in surprise, clearly recognizing Ye Liang.
"How coincidental! I just dreamed of you today, and here you come — it seems we really are destined to meet," said the Toad Sage.
Ye Liang nodded slightly.
"That we are indeed destined."
At this point, the quarreling toad couple had also stopped their fight.
"Lord, you're awake."
"We're sorry for letting you witness such behavior," both apologized briefly before stepping aside.
Ye Liang felt a chill run through his heart.
This Toad Sage truly possessed genuine skills. Right after waking from his dream, the first thing he mentioned was Ye Liang accompanied by four children.
If he'd only mentioned dreaming of Ye Liang alone, it might have just been a clever guess based on sensing someone's presence. But accurately describing the exact number of people — including [Naruto] and the others — that was different altogether.
This Toad Sage genuinely had prophetic abilities!
Ye Liang was now absolutely certain of that fact.
"Great Toad Sage, this is our esteemed guest today. He has something to ask you and hopes you'll answer his question," reminded Fukasaku once more since the Toad Sage had been asleep earlier.
"You have something to ask me, young man? What is it?" said the Toad Sage.
The old toad had a warm and friendly aura—way nicer than the White Snake Sage they'd met back at Ryuchi Cave. Ye Liang couldn't help but like him.
"Toad Sage, I do have a question for you," Ye Liang found himself speaking with newfound respect. "I'd like to ask about my future. When will I be able to return home?"
"Home? With all your power, you still can't even go back?"
Before the Toad Sage could respond, Shima chimed in first.
"I can't return. My homeland is called Ao'lan. It's very far away."
"Very far?"
