Season 2, Episode 3: "Code Black"
SCENE 1: CODE BLACK INITIATED
Dominion Central Command – Containment Sector
The screen blinked:
"Security Breach – Level 3 – Subject 027 INTERFACE BREACH"
Status: CODE BLACK
Sirens wailed. Red strobes pulsed. Guards scrambled.
Dr. Myles stood calmly amidst the chaos, her fingers dancing across a holo-screen.
"Initiate memory-lock on all affected subjects. Prepare Sub-Level D for Emergency Containment. Subject 027's
psychic barrier has collapsed. He's ready for Phase Two."
Behind her, a technician whispered, "He made contact with Subject 14's pod."
Myles smirked.
"Good. Let's see if the ghost wakes up."
SCENE 2: RAEL'S NIGHTMARE
In Rael's mind—darkness.
Then light, sharp and jagged, bleeding through the black.
He stood in a white room filled with shattered mirrors. His reflection stared back from every angle—some younger, some bleeding, some inhuman.
And in the center: Mira.
Not the Mira he remembered.
This one had black veins crawling across her arms, her eyes clouded with silver static. She was humming a lullaby.
"They made me something else," she said.
Rael tried to touch her, but she dissolved into smoke.
Suddenly, he heard the voice again—not the one from before, but newer. Sharper.
"Welcome to the next layer, Subject 027. You're in the in-between now. This is where they strip the soul."
SCENE 3: NOVA'S EVOLUTION
Down in the Nulls' hideout, Nova was unraveling.
Her powers were intensifying. Uncontrolled bursts of telekinetic force flared whenever she touched metal. Echo tried to help, but even she kept her distance.
"You're destabilizing," Echo said. "Whatever they did to you… it's still inside."
Nova stared at her hands. Fingertips glowing faintly. A low hum buzzed in her skull.
"I think I'm changing."
"We all are," said Echo. "But most of us break before we get through."
Just then, a Null scout burst in. "They've
activated Code Black. They're purging the sublevels."
Echo's eyes widened. "We need to leave. Now."
SCENE 4: ZEKE'S AWAKENING
Elsewhere in the compound, Zeke was undergoing a "behavioral enhancement session." But instead of brainwashing… something else triggered.
A strange device was placed on his spine—a neurostimulator designed to suppress aggression. Instead, it activated his latent power.
His skin began to heat. His veins glowed like magma. The room lights flickered. One of the doctors backed away, but too late.
Zeke's body exploded with a fiery shockwave—engulfing the chamber in a blaze.
He stood in the center, breath heavy, eyes golden-red.
"I'm not your experiment."
He walked out, leaving the scorched corpses behind.
SCENE 5: RAEL WAKES
Rael awoke restrained to a chair. Metal cuffs. Electrodes. A tube in his arm.
Dr. Myles stood nearby, holding a file labeled "SUBJECT 027 – PHASE TWO: NEURAL INTERFACE STIMULUS."
"You made contact with the psychic remnant of Subject 14. You're the key to unlocking her."
Rael clenched his jaw. "You said she was dead."
Myles tilted her head. "She was. But consciousness is just code if you know where to look."
Then she activated the stimulator. Pain surged into Rael's skull.
Images slammed into his mind—flashbacks, whispers, shadowed faces… and Mira screaming in the chamber.
But something else came through.
Not Mira. Not the voice. Something darker.
"They opened the gate too early," it whispered. "Now I'm here."
Rael convulsed.
"Shut it down!" yelled a technician. "He's not syncing, he's—"
Suddenly, the machines overloaded. Sparks flew. Lights burst.
Rael's restraints melted.
He was free.
SCENE 6: ESCAPE & REGROUP
Nova and Echo led the Nulls through abandoned service tunnels toward the
surface. Along the way, they encountered Zeke, now nearly glowing with energy, skin cracked like volcanic stone.
"You did that?" Nova asked, seeing the burn marks trailing behind him.
Zeke nodded. "They tried to shut me down. I turned it back on them."
They found Rael half-conscious, collapsed in the main access shaft, surrounded by sparking machinery.
Nova rushed to him. "Rael?!"
He opened his eyes, flickering with violet light.
"She's not dead," he whispered. "But she's not Mira anymore."
"Then what is she?"
Rael looked up, voice shaking.
"A gate. And something's trying to come through her."
