Season 2, Episode 4: "Break the Silence"
SCENE 1: THE THINGS LEFT UNSAID
The group moved quietly through Dominion's ventilation system, the hum of electricity beneath their feet. Nova led the way, Zeke right behind her, still radiating heat. Rael walked last, his eyes distant—haunted by what he saw.
"What exactly did they do to you?" Nova asked him softly as they crouched in a maintenance bay.
Rael didn't answer at first.
Then:
"It wasn't Mira I saw… not fully. There's something else inside her. Something watching. Feeding off me."
Zeke raised a brow. "Feeding?"
Rael's hand trembled slightly. "When I made contact, it was like… it crawled into my mind. It's still there. Whispering. Watching. Waiting."
Nova's jaw tightened. "That's why we need to find her. If she's still human… we bring her back."
Rael shook his head slowly.
"You don't understand. If we open her pod again… we let it out."
SCENE 2: THE DOMINION CHURCH
Meanwhile, deep inside Dominion's ceremonial wing, Dr. Myles knelt before a massive black structure—the Vein Gate. A pulsing obsidian monolith surrounded by ancient tech and wires.
A man in a long black coat approached—The Chancellor, head of Dominion.
"Project Exodus is ahead of schedule," Myles reported. "Subject 027 made neural contact with the gate. He's the perfect bridge."
The Chancellor's voice was low, controlled. "And Subject 14?"
"Still dormant. But the entity is growing. We estimate 11 days before emergence."
He turned his gaze to the monolith.
"For decades, we searched for divinity in the stars. But now… we've found it in our
blood."
SCENE 3: VOICELESS
Rael was breaking.
At first, the voice inside him was a whisper. Now, it screamed in pulses of static. Sometimes he blacked out and woke in different corridors. Sometimes he heard himself speaking in languages he didn't understand.
In one moment of stillness, Nova caught him staring at his own reflection in a cracked mirror.
"You're not sleeping."
"He doesn't let me."
"Who?"
"The Silence."
Nova blinked. "The what?"
"That's what he calls himself. The thing inside Mira. Inside me now."
SCENE 4: MEMORIES FROM THE NULLS
Echo guided them to an old abandoned operations hub. Inside, digital relics of Dominion's first subjects.
One of the files showed Mira in early testing. Younger. Fragile. Eyes bright with curiosity. Back when she was still herself.
"She was one of the first," Echo explained. "Before Dominion learned how to fully suppress identity. She resisted."
They watched as Mira screamed at scientists, her powers lashing out—doors warping, lights exploding—before she was sedated.
"So they did what they always do," Echo said. "They broke her mind… then built something else in its place."
SCENE 5: FRACTURES FORMING
Tension was rising.
Zeke wanted to attack Dominion directly. Burn them down. Nova agreed—cautiously.
But Rael? He hesitated.
"If we strike before we're ready, they'll kill her," he said. "Or worse… let it through on purpose."
Zeke snapped. "Are you protecting her or protecting yourself?"
Rael stood. "You weren't there. You didn't see it. This isn't just about us anymore."
The group fell into silence.
The divide had begun.
SCENE 6: THE SIGNAL
Echo brought Rael a device.
"We intercepted a hidden signal from the cryo-pod chamber. Someone's trying to communicate."
Rael activated the signal.
A voice crackled through—distorted but familiar.
"Rael… it's me… help me… before it breaks through…"
Mira.
Rael dropped the device.
"She's alive."
"Or it wants you to think that," Echo warned. "This could be bait."
"Then I'm taking it."
SCENE 7: RETURN TO THE POD
With Echo and Nova covering the surveillance feeds, Rael returned to the
lower cryo-sector.
He stood before Mira's sealed chamber again.
Her body was floating inside—eyes closed. Peaceful. Untouched.
But then… her eyes opened.
Silver.
Her lips moved beneath the glass: "You came back."
Rael reached toward the keypad.
The voice screamed in his mind:
"NO. DO NOT OPEN. SHE IS NOT HER. SHE IS NOT—"
He hesitated.
Behind him, the chamber lights turned red.
Dominion had found them.
