Chapter 5 - 5

Huang Wen didn't really listen to the subsequent news reports on TV, but he knew it was just Tony Stark's usual bragging.

Things like, 'When I, Tony Stark, make friends, I never care if they have money, because they don't have money, but I do.'

Or, 'I, Tony Stark, spend every day eating, drinking, and having fun, but if I just take one percent of my time, any little gadget I casually invent is better than all the weapons painstakingly developed by all the smart people in the world.'

There was no other way; Tony Stark was just that kind of rich, genius show-off.

Huang Wen now somewhat understood why his system had six levels: Mortal, Extraordinary, Legendary, Epic, Mythical, and Divine. It turned out this was the Marvel world.

Huang Wen still couldn't determine which Marvel world it was, but it was most likely the cinematic universe, because he was too familiar with Tony Stark's appearance.

Although the real-life appearance of Li Xunhuan in the comics might also look like that, Huang Wen still hoped that this was merely the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At least in the cinematic universe, Huang Wen couldn't remember every detail, but he was still relatively familiar with the general plot.

Unlike the chaotic comic world, that was simply not a place for humans to stay. Not only did the settings constantly change, but various major events were like a sow wearing a bra—one after another.

Even though Huang Wen had watched various videos explaining Marvel comics, he considered himself just watching for the excitement. If he were asked to recount the specific content of the comics, sorry, Huang Wen couldn't do it!

Therefore, Huang Wen hoped he was in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At least the overall logic didn't have major problems, and it was safe... What a load of crap!

Not to mention the ultimate crisis, Thanos's snap.

Although half of the living beings who turned to dust eventually returned, time had still passed. Half the people suddenly disappeared for five years and then suddenly returned, causing the entire social order to be profoundly affected.

Moreover, when watching the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, one absolutely cannot just look at what happened in front of the camera. This world is not just that small part shown on screen.

Although there aren't many scenes of civilian casualties in Marvel movies, and heroes are often seen saving civilians in time, what about in reality?

The rampaging Hulk, the Hulk vs. Abomination battle, Iron Man vs. Whiplash, the Extremis virus, the space chaos caused by the Aether, the Battle of New York in Avengers 1, the street shootout chasing Nick Fury, Ultron's Battle of Sokovia... If there truly were no civilian casualties, there wouldn't have been the Sokovia Accords, let alone a civil war.

Therefore, civilians in the Marvel movies have absolutely no sense of security, not to mention that this is already the land of free America, where gunfights and terrorist acts are not uncommon.

And Huang Wen right now was just an ordinary civilian.

Even though Huang Wen now possessed 34 points of energy and had entered the ranks of the extraordinary, he knew that he definitely couldn't defeat the shield-wielding captain who always fought to a draw.

As for the weaker Hawkeye and Black Widow, Huang Wen felt he had a slight chance against Hawkeye in close combat, but if the distance was opened up, Huang Wen, without any long-range means, would probably only be able to dodge.

As for Black Widow, Huang Wen couldn't say for sure, but he thought there shouldn't be too much of a problem. Even if Black Widow was proficient in various secret agent combat skills, Grandmaster-level Wing Chun was not to be underestimated.

Not to mention, rounding up, Huang Wen was now equivalent to two Ip Mans!

But even so, Huang Wen had no confidence whatsoever in surviving in the Marvel world. Once he encountered firearms, cannons, or even suicide bombers with the Extremis virus, alien laser weapons, or a rampaging Hulk, Huang Wen would only kick the bucket.

Although Huang Wen had now entered the extraordinary level, he was still essentially human. Even Captain America needed to wield Mjolnir and gain the power of Thor to unleash a combo in the final battle, let alone the current Huang Wen.

Of course, the final battle and such were too far away. Although Huang Wen was not strong now, with the Domestic Film and Television Lucky Draw, Huang Wen believed he would definitely become stronger!

"I need to complete the mission as soon as possible. At least, drawing some extraordinary skills or items would allow me to gain a measure of self-preservation in this dangerous world. But, such a world is exciting enough, isn't it?"

"Phew!" Thinking this, Huang Wen made a decision in his heart, then let out a long breath, suppressing his faintly excited mood and boiling blood, and stood up.

"Are you full?" Uncle Zhong saw Huang Wen stand up, glanced at the empty pot, and asked with a smile, "Want some more?"

"No need." Huang Wen smiled and shook his head, "How much?"

"Are you still talking about money with your Uncle Zhong?" Uncle Zhong glared at Huang Wen in annoyance, "If you like to eat, you can come every day!"

"Uncle Zhong, if you say that, I won't dare to come again." Huang Wen spread his hands, pointing to the empty hot pot restaurant around him, "Uncle Zhong, your business isn't exactly good. If I eat for free, won't you lose money?"

"It's still no problem to let you, kid, eat your fill." Uncle Zhong insisted on shaking his head, but then saw Huang Wen place a handful of money on the table.

"Alright, Uncle Zhong, I'm leaving now. Don't bother with the change. Next time I come to eat, just deduct it from here. Remember not to contact them!" Huang Wen darted out of the hot pot restaurant in just a couple of steps, leaving only his voice echoing inside. 'They,' of course, referred to the Star Gang.

"Those who practice martial arts sure run fast!" Uncle Zhong couldn't help but laugh, picking up the money on the table and sighing, "But it's true, business hasn't been good this past year... Hmm? You kid, you talk so nicely, but this money isn't enough!"

However, even though Uncle Zhong said that, he didn't mean to haggle. Instead, he started clearing the tables, busying himself alone. The hot pot restaurant wasn't large, and it didn't even have a waiter.

Huang Wen naturally didn't know that the money he gave wasn't enough. He subconsciously thought that for one person eating hot pot, over a hundred yuan was about right.

But Huang Wen had misjudged his appetite, as well as the prices and consumption power in the US. A little over a hundred yuan wasn't even enough for one hot pot meal for him.

"I can't just rashly go to Benson's karate dojo yet..." After leaving the hot pot restaurant, Huang Wen wandered aimlessly through Chinatown, but his mind began to calculate, "After all, that Golen Gang's business is so widespread, they have plenty of firearms and thugs!"

"Thugs are one thing; dealing with them isn't too difficult. But firearms, even with my current reaction speed, I can only dodge the instant I hear the gunshot, and I might not even dodge in the correct direction..."
