Chapter 38 - 38

Soon, Huang Wen returned to the Wing Chun Martial Arts School. What happened next had nothing to do with him. After all, all of Huang Wen's previous grudges had been settled, and Chief Yifu was just an extra bonus.

After Huang Wen returned to the Wing Chun Martial Arts School, Logan heard the commotion again, but this time he had no intention of coming out. After all, he knew Huang Wen had gone for revenge, so Logan couldn't very well run out and ask Huang Wen if he had succeeded, could he?

And just as Huang Wen expected, after hearing the explosion, it wasn't just the people in the shack who were stirred. The police officers, who were originally preparing to celebrate an unexpected windfall, looked at each other subconsciously after hearing the explosion, their expressions a little hesitant.

"What was that sound just now?"

"I don't know, it sounded like an explosion..."

"No, I heard what sounded like gunshots, and it wasn't just any gun, it sounded like a large-caliber gun!"

"Isn't that where we just left? Chief Yifu, he wouldn't have..."

At this point, the faces of the police officers suddenly changed, especially the two officers who had followed Chief Yifu into the shack. They exchanged glances.

"Just now, Chief Yifu and the person negotiating the price had a bit of an unpleasant dispute. They deducted a bit too much money. Could it be that Chief Yifu got into another conflict with them?"

"Let's go back and take a look. If Chief Yifu is in trouble, we won't have a good time either! The chief won't let us off..."

The police officers cautiously pulled out their service revolvers and slowly made their way back to where the shack was. When they just saw the intersection ahead, their expressions changed!

Ahead, it was clearly visible that Chief Yifu's body and head were separated, and nearby, several people from the shack's faction were frowning at the corpse, then stepped forward to search it and carried it away.

"Don't be impulsive!" The oldest police officer pulled back the young, impulsive officer. "This is their territory, and they have backup at any time. Quickly notify the chief and the police station!"

"Ring, ring!"

Chief Dickinson, who was resting in the arms of a beauty, looking a bit tired, was about to fall asleep when he suddenly heard his phone ring.

"Who is it? Is that old hag rushing you home?" A seductive voice rang out. "Didn't you say you were going to divorce her? You wouldn't just use her and then not acknowledge it, would you?"

"Stop it, it seems to be a call from one of my subordinates." Chief Dickinson frowned and picked up the phone. He thought of the recent matter of having Chief Yifu fence stolen goods, and gestured with his eyes for the woman beside him to be quiet.

The woman, being sensible, didn't make a fuss anymore and quietly held Chief Dickinson's body.

"Hello?"

"Chief! It's bad, Chief Yifu is in trouble! Those people want to take our goods!" A slightly urgent voice rang out.

"What? They have the guts?" A trace of anger flashed in Chief Dickinson's eyes. "How is Yifu?"

"Chief Yifu is dead, his head was blown off..." The young officer's voice was a mix of fear and anger. "They are currently disposing of Chief Yifu's body. Old John told us to notify you, Chief, for backup first."

"Yifu is dead?!" Chief Dickinson's pupils suddenly contracted. He realized the seriousness of the situation. Originally, if Chief Yifu had only been injured, everything would have been easy to handle, but with Chief Yifu dead, things had become a big deal!

Although Chief Yifu's rank was two levels below his, he was still a deputy chief. Reaching the position of deputy chief was not comparable to low-ranking officers, detectives, or even superintendents and commissioners.

If any chief had an accident, the General Bureau above would pay close attention. If this matter was not handled well, his position as Chief of the Dickinson Sub-bureau might not be secure!

"Damn it, how dare they be so bold!" Chief Dickinson's expression was furious. He pushed away the woman beside him and, through the emergency contact system of the police station, notified every officer in the sub-bureau.

Not long after, Chief Dickinson led a group of police officers and surrounded the passages near the shack. Mark, the person in charge of the shack, who sensed that something was wrong, hid inside the shack, temporarily unsure whether to fight or flee.

Mark had realized something was amiss when he first discovered Chief Yifu's death, but at the time, there was no one else around, and no trace of any police officers. So Mark made a wrong decision.

He wanted to cover up Chief Yifu's death, at least so it wouldn't be discovered quickly. Otherwise, if Chief Yifu died near the shack, they would inevitably be implicated.

But unfortunately, Chief Dickinson arrived much faster than Mark had imagined. In fact, the sub-bureau officers who had quietly arrived and were hiding in the shadows happened to witness them dealing with Chief Yifu's body. Now, it was like mud on their pants; whether it was actual excrement or not, it certainly looked like it.

Mark looked at the fully armed sub-bureau officers outside. Although they had various heavy weapons inside their shack, engaging in a full-scale firefight with the sub-bureau officers would mean starting a life of exile.

"Yifu had previously found out this was a fencing location and came alone to scout it out. I never thought he would be murdered!" Chief Dickinson looked at the sub-bureau officers with a sorrowful expression, his eyes red, and even tears falling.

"Yifu sacrificed himself for the police station. I will report his merits to secure the maximum benefits and pension for Yifu's family..."

Chief Dickinson's demeanor and words were full of Infectious, and even the officers who didn't know the truth believed Chief Dickinson's words. As for those who knew the truth, they had no intention of revealing it.

Including that young, somewhat impulsive officer, because he also knew that if the bubble of this lie was burst, not only Chief Dickinson, but most of the officers in their entire sub-bureau would lose their jobs, and even be sentenced to prison.

"And now, the people inside are terrorists. Yifu has been brutally murdered by them. We must capture them to avenge Yifu, regardless of life or death!" Chief Dickinson took a deep breath, as if finally catching his breath, and said, his eyes scanning the officers.

"However, I don't want anyone else to be sacrificed. Therefore, you must take good care of yourselves and avenge Yifu while ensuring your own safety!"

"Avenge Chief Yifu!" The officers shouted in unison.

Mark, who was still somewhat hesitant inside the shack, heard this and looked at his subordinates. He took a deep breath and said, "Damn it! It seems this Dickinson is going to pin this whole thing on us. He won't leave any survivors..."

"Whoever killed Yifu, don't let me find you, I will fight you to the death!"

"Now, there's no need for a head-on confrontation. Where there's life, there's hope. Let's leave through the secret passage and hide for a while!"
