Chapter 57 - 57

Ron, if this continues… Dr. Connors will die."

Seeing Ron summon hundreds more SCAR rifles to attack Dr. Lizard, Peter carried Black Widow on his shoulder and approached Ron, trying to persuade him.

"Alright, I've had enough fun. There's really no point in playing anymore."

Ron nodded, and immediately materialized bullets with powerful tranquilizers in the magazines of all the firearms, as well as a few vials with special genes, and shot all the bullets at Dr. Lizard.

Although Dr. Lizard was powerful and had strong regenerative abilities, he still couldn't withstand thousands of powerful tranquilizers. After a round of indiscriminate firing, he finally collapsed on the ground, unable to maintain his lizard form, and slowly transformed back into his human appearance from his lizard body.

Then, Ron transformed all the materialized firearms, as well as the magazines and shell casings, back into mental energy within the singularity. Suddenly, this remote and uninhabited place returned to peace.

Looking at Peter, who was still carrying Black Widow, Ron paused slightly and said, "Uh… Peter, I'm afraid you forgot, there's still someone on your shoulder, right?"

"Huh?" Peter finally came to his senses. He looked at Black Widow on his shoulder with great 'surprise' and exclaimed, "What's going on? Why is Miss Natasha still on my shoulder? This is unscientific…"

With that, Peter gently lowered Black Widow from his shoulder and leaned her against a nearby wall.

"This… Ron, please don't tell Gwen. I didn't do it on purpose. It's just that you and Dr. Lizard were fighting so intensely that I forgot…"

After putting down Black Widow, Peter also took off his Spidey mask and looked at Ron with a smiling face, pleading.

Ron gave a reassuring look, "Don't worry, why would I tell Gwen about this…"

Hearing Ron's reply, Peter became happy, "That's good, that's good. I knew it, Ron, you would never betray me, hehe…"

"That's right, why would I betray you…" Ron's smile widened. Then, he took out his phone, found Gwen's number, composed a text message, and sent it.

"Holy crap, Ron, what are you doing? Didn't you say you wouldn't tell Gwen about this?"

Peter had excellent eyesight. At first, when he saw Ron take out his phone, he wondered what Ron was going to do with it. But later, he saw Peter actually texting Gwen, and the content of the message was about him carrying Black Widow just now.

Peter panicked and shot out a web, trying to grab Ron's phone, but the web disappeared before it even touched Ron, going who knows where.

Peter was very frustrated. Although Ron had tricked him, he couldn't attack his good friend Ron, could he?

Besides, he couldn't beat Ron anyway. He was stuck with this loss.

"Alright, I didn't really trick you, but Peter, since you did something like this, you'd better go back and confess and explain to Gwen yourself!"

Looking at the frustrated Peter, Ron put his phone back in his pocket and chuckled.

Of course, he hadn't actually sent a text message to Gwen. He only did that to frustrate Peter and calm down his restless heart.

"Really?" Peter was a bit skeptical of Ron. Having been tricked by Ron so many times, he subconsciously wondered if this was another one of Ron's traps.

"Of course, if you don't believe me, you can ask Black Widow." Ron's expression was very sincere. As he spoke, he looked at Black Widow, who was leaning against the wall, 'unconscious,' and said, "Alright, Black Widow, I know you're badly hurt, but you didn't actually pass out, so stop pretending."

"Uh…" Hearing Ron's words, Peter also looked at Black Widow, his eyes filled with doubt.

Black Widow, did she really not pass out?

If that were true, then she would have been fully aware of him carrying her just now, wouldn't she?

Thinking of this, Peter's face turned a little red. If the person involved knew what had just happened, he would be extremely embarrassed!

At this moment, Black Widow, who was 'unconscious,' truly felt embarrassed. Although she guessed that Ron probably knew she was faking it, he wouldn't expose her, would he?

She considered herself not bad-looking, and her figure was top-notch. Why did this Ron have such a strong opinion of her, as if she were his enemy!

Of course, as an agent, Black Widow's composure and acting skills were excellent. She feigned waking up from unconsciousness, looking around confusedly, and spoke.

"How did I get here? Where's the lizard monster? Has he been dealt with?"

"Alright, the lizard monster is right there. I'll leave him to you, Black Widow. Your S.H.I.E.L.D. is specifically for dealing with these kinds of things. It's most appropriate to let professionals handle it."

Seeing Black Widow feigning confusion, Ron shook his head, pointed to Dr. Lizard on the side, and said to Black Widow.

"So, Ron, you've already dealt with it. You've made a great contribution to S.H.I.E.L.D., thank you very much."

Black Widow saw Dr. Lizard, who had transformed back into a human, and feigned gratitude, saying to Ron.

"This isn't a contribution I made to S.H.I.E.L.D., but a contribution to New York, to Earth. The credit for this belongs to the Guardians Alliance, and has nothing to do with S.H.I.E.L.D."

Hearing Black Widow's words, Ron knew that she was trying to gauge his attitude towards S.H.I.E.L.D., which was why she spoke that way.

Originally, Ron didn't have any particular feelings about S.H.I.E.L.D., but this time he was trying to counter the Avengers, and the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. were inextricably linked, so he was actually also countering S.H.I.E.L.D. How could he give the credit to S.H.I.E.L.D.?

"Black Widow, it's settled. When you go back, you must not get the outcome of this matter wrong. All the credit belongs to the Guardians Alliance, do you understand?"

Ron's face showed dissatisfaction as he looked at Black Widow and said seriously.

Black Widow nodded helplessly, agreeing with Ron's statement.

Seeing Black Widow agree, Ron smiled, then patted Peter on the side and said, "Alright, Dr. Connors has been dealt with. S.H.I.E.L.D. will handle the rest. Let's go back, I still have a bonus for you!"

"Is it really okay to leave Dr. Connors to Miss Natasha… A bonus? Great, Ron, let's go back right away. Two thousand dollars! If this happens again, couldn't I buy a used sports car? Hehe…"

Peter was originally a little worried if it was inappropriate to leave Dr. Lizard to Black Widow, but as soon as he heard Ron was going to give him a bonus, his expression immediately changed, and he pulled Ron, wanting to leave.

"Hmm." Looking at Peter's excited appearance, Ron secretly thought that this guy was also of poor quality, just leaving Dr. Lizard to Black Widow like that.

"Alright, Black Widow, Peter and I are leaving first. If you want to find us again later, then come. With S.H.I.E.L.D.'s strength, achieving that shouldn't be difficult."

After dealing with Dr. Lizard, Ron finally bid farewell to Black Widow and left the place.

Black Widow watched Ron and Peter leave, her brows slightly furrowed, without saying a word.

About thirty seconds after Ron left, dozens of fully armed people suddenly appeared in the area, controlling Dr. Connors, who had already turned back into a human, with special equipment.

Then, a person walked in front of Black Widow and spoke.

"What do you plan to do next?"

Black Widow started to ponder. After a while, she said.

"Let me think about it some more. This guy is too difficult to deal with…"
