Chapter 27 - 27

Thank you for your hard work!"

Nick Fury knew that by assigning so many arduous tasks to Natasha all at once, Natasha would certainly harbor some resentment.

But there was no other way!

He couldn't trust those who had the ability in that area!

And those he could trust weren't as outstanding as Natasha, nor were they suited for this kind of search mission.

Currently, S.H.I.E.L.D. was facing both internal and external troubles, making things very difficult for Nick Fury.

So, he could only hope that Natasha would understand his difficulties and not work with resentment.

Of course!

Regarding professionalism, Nick Fury would never doubt Natasha.

As an Agent, Natasha was definitely the elite of the elites!

Chapter 31: Gwen's Worries! Cyberbullied! [Seeking Fresh Flowers]

January 10th, Saturday!

A week had passed since Luo Di signed in and obtained Black King Shaw's Energy Absorption ability.

Over the past week, Luo Di had signed in seven more times.

It turned out he was right; signing in for Black King's ability that day truly sacrificed his luck for a period of time in the future.

Because in the subsequent seven sign-ins, without exception, Luo Di only obtained the trashiest Ipsilon mutant abilities.

Luo Di naturally wouldn't keep these trash abilities.

So, he decomposed all of them. Except for one which, after decomposition, gave him proficiency that he allocated to his Teleportation ability, raising its development level to 3.

The proficiency from the other six decomposed abilities was entirely allocated to the Energy Absorption ability by Luo Di.

Therefore;

Now, Luo Di also possessed two mutant abilities whose development levels had reached 3.

One was Teleportation, and the other was Energy Absorption!

Especially the latter.

At level 2, the upper limit of absorbed energy was equivalent to the total energy of a ten-million-ton yield nuclear weapon explosion. After upgrading to level 3, this upper limit increased tenfold!

Luo Di had previously wondered if keeping such a massive amount of energy within his body would cause problems?

After all, the energy he had stored at that time had already reached 95% of his absorption limit!

And the daily consumption was negligible.

Compared to such a massive amount of energy, it was completely insignificant.

But if Luo Di encountered a powerful enemy who suddenly struck him hard, and the energy exceeded his upper limit, that would be disastrous!

This was probably why Black King Shaw never kept too much energy within his body.

He obviously did it to avoid such a situation.

However, Luo Di could now rest assured!

The energy upper limit increased tenfold, and the energy that had originally accumulated to 95% suddenly plummeted to 9.5%!

If someone wanted to make his energy exceed the limit and cause him to self-destruct and injure himself, how powerful would that existence have to be?

After all;

That 90.5% remaining energy gap was equivalent to the energy produced by a 90.5 million-ton yield nuclear weapon explosion.

What kind of existence could unleash such powerful energy in a single blow?

Even Captain Marvel couldn't do it!

Even Odin, holding gungnir, probably couldn't reach this magnitude in a single blow, could he?

Unless they used the Bifrost Bridge's energy to blast Luo Di.

Only then would it be possible.

But Luo Di hadn't provoked this God King of Asgard.

He'd have to be out of his mind to use a destructive weapon like the Bifrost Bridge against Luo Di.

Therefore;

Luo Di could confidently and boldly retain this massive amount of energy within his body.

There was no need to find an opportunity to release it.

....

The sound of splashing Water rang out.

In the outdoor swimming pool, Luo Di emerged from the Water.

He wiped the Water from his body, then turned and lay down on a lounge chair.

He was sunbathing and scrolling on his phone.

Just then—

A Shadow suddenly flew from a distance and landed steadily on the terrace.

"Hi~! I just happened to be passing by here."

Gwen, dressed in her Spider-Woman suit, greeted Luo Di.

"You're always welcome here."

Luo Di said with a smile.

"Want some Water?"

Hearing that, Gwen chuckled and said, "Hot Water again?"

"Of course! Drinking more hot Water is good for your health."

Luo Di said, turning and going into the house.

When he came out, he already had a steaming cup of hot Water in his hand.

"Here."

Luo Di handed the cup to Gwen.

"Thank you."

Gwen politely said thank you, then took the cup and turned to sit directly on the railing at the edge of the terrace.

"Looks like you're not afraid of heights."

Luo Di said, standing beside her.

"I actually quite like high places."

Gwen said with a smile, pulling up half of her mask to take a sip of Water.

"I've never drunk hot Water before. This feeling of clearly sensing the hot Water slowly flowing into my stomach is quite special."

Gwen said.

"Something on your mind?"

Luo Di asked her.

If there was nothing wrong, Gwen clearly wouldn't have come to find him.

Moreover, Luo Di could tell that although Gwen was smiling, her mood seemed a bit low.

"You noticed?"

Gwen didn't hide it. She nodded and said, "I do have something on my mind. Have you seen the discussions about me on social media recently?"

"I don't really like going online normally."

Luo Di spread his hands and said.

Hearing this, Gwen's carefully cultivated emotions instantly crumbled.

Doesn't really go online?

Are you serious?

Gwen glanced at Luo Di's phone screen on the lounge chair; it was still showing the Facebook interface.

"Alright, actually, I saw it."

Luo Di smiled, indicating he was just joking.

"So, you're bothered by what people online are saying about you?"

Gwen nodded.

To be honest, when she first gained this superpower, Gwen never thought about what she would do with it.

She was just an ordinary young girl who yearned for a happy life, normally enjoying playing in a band, and her biggest dream was to one day tour across the U.S..

As for becoming a Superhero or anything like that.

She hadn't even thought about it before!

But when she first couldn't help but use her abilities to help those in need, Gwen found that she quite liked that feeling.

Especially when she saw the grateful expressions of the people she had helped.

She even felt that the entire World had become much brighter!

However, the life of a Superhero wasn't that wonderful.

Some people thanked them, but naturally, others would hate them, or even slander and maliciously attack them!

Gwen initially tried to convince herself not to care about these external comments.

But as she entered the public eye more and more, the overwhelming negative comments directly crushed Gwen's small heart.

She began to doubt herself, hesitating whether to continue being a Superhero!

....

Chapter 32: Luo Di's Guidance! Gwen Unlocks Her Heart! [Seeking Collection]

When something that should make a person happy starts to cause annoyance, or even pain, the first thing a person thinks of is whether to continue?

Gwen was no exception.

She wasn't sure if she truly liked being a Superhero?

Or if she merely liked the feeling of being thanked?

If it was the latter, then she should give up being a Superhero now.

Because currently, those who hated her far outnumbered those who liked and thanked her!

Gwen also didn't know why this was the case.

She was clearly doing a good thing.

But people seemed to never remember the good deeds a person did, only what she didn't do.

For example, a very popular discussion online recently was why Spider-Woman was not seen at the scene of the Printer Apartment Fire?

The Printer Apartment Fire happened two days ago. It was around 9 PM when a fire broke out in the Printer Apartment building in the Bronx. It was a 7-story apartment building, with six or seven small units on each floor, housing over a hundred Black people. It is well-known that the Bronx has the most Black and Latino residents. Moreover, the economy there is relatively undeveloped, the environment is chaotic, and public safety is poor, with crime occurring frequently.
