Chapter 28 - 28

That fire was also an arson case.

The economic losses caused by the fire were not much, but it burned several black people to death, which attracted a lot of social attention.

Originally, everyone should have been discussing when the police would catch the culprit.

But somehow, people started discussing why Spider-Woman, who had been active in Free City recently, didn't go to save people at that time.

Then a lot of people started saying that Spider-Woman was a racist, and that she didn't treat black people as human beings.

Heaven knows, Gwen has never been a racist!

Although she doesn't like black people very much, she definitely doesn't hate them.

At most, she's just not close to them.

As a result, online, she became a typical racist, treating the lives of black people as pigs and dogs.

To be honest, such words might provoke animal protection associations.

However, Gwen's concern was clearly not on that.

She was cyberbullied!

And it was cyberbullying with trumped-up charges.

"I'm not a racist at all, and that night I was in another place apprehending another group of criminals. I had no idea there was a fire there."

Gwen felt wronged; she felt that she hadn't done anything wrong, yet she was being cursed like this.

Her heart grew cold!

She was tired!

"So you don't want to be a Superhero anymore?"

Luo Di asked her.

Upon hearing this, Gwen hesitated.

She had never thought of becoming a Superhero before.

She also didn't have the same "with great power comes great responsibility" burden as other Spider-Man.

But ever since she became a Superhero, Gwen had gradually come to like the feeling.

It was like the feeling she got when performing for an audience on stage; she liked this feeling and couldn't bear to give it all up.

But... she really couldn't stand it anymore!

Luo Di saw that Gwen didn't truly want to give up being a Superhero.

She was just hurt by those keyboard warriors online.

So, Luo Di said, "If you still want to continue being a Superhero, then you have to learn to ignore the judgments of those people online."

"No one is perfect; no one can achieve flawlessness."

"Even the Avengers have a lot of haters online, and a legend like Captain America, don't many people dislike him?"

"I'm not saying this to make you accept these people's criticisms, because some people are born to speak without thinking, and their happiness is always built on the suffering of others."

"I'm just trying to tell you that your abilities are limited, and you can't help everyone!"

"If you're willing, help those you can."

"If you're not willing, what do you care what they say afterward!"

"Could it be that just because of some words from people who are irrelevant to you, your life can be swayed?"

"Let them go to hell!"

"Remember one thing! The greater the ability, the greater the desire!"

"You just need to make sure you don't harm others; that's already doing very well."

"If you can use your abilities to help some people, that's simply being an Angel!"

"So, don't be too demanding of yourself, let yourself off the hook! As long as you can have a clear conscience, that's enough."

Perched on the railing, Gwen fell into contemplation as she listened to Luo Di's words.

After a long time, she seemed to understand something and nodded.

"I understand what you mean. I was overthinking it."

Gwen said, "Just as you said, the greater the ability, the greater the desire. It's enough for me to control my desires and have a clear conscience."

"Demanding too much of myself to be perfect is inherently impossible."

"I was too stubborn in the past; I won't be like that anymore!"

A teachable child!

Luo Di looked at Gwen's change and nodded with satisfaction.

A perfect Superhero does not exist.

Superman also has flaws!

And it would be very tiring.

Gwen is just a newly adult girl; she shouldn't have to bear so much.

Just as Uncle Ben guided Peter Parker's life direction, today Luo Di also pointed Gwen to a new life direction.

The difference, however, is that Uncle Ben's requirement for Peter Parker was to do his best.

Whereas Luo Di's requirement for Gwen was to just be happy!

"Spider-Woman, be a Superhero out of interest, let go of the burden, and set off lightly!"

Luo Di smiled and extended his hand, looking at Gwen.

Gwen looked at him, then smiled and took his hand.

"Out of interest?"

"That sounds pretty good too."

....

PS: Fifth update! ! !

I'm going to eat in a bit, and I'll write the following chapters when I get back in the afternoon!

See you this afternoon! !.

Chapter 33: Gwen the Worker! Luo Di the Overbearing CEO! [Requesting Fresh Flowers]

After guiding Gwen, the two chatted for a while longer before Gwen swung away.

Before leaving, Gwen also exchanged social accounts with Luo Di.

She said that if there was anything, she could be reached through that account.

Of course!

Gwen's account was definitely her secondary one.

Otherwise, wouldn't her identity be exposed!

For now, Gwen didn't want to tell Luo Di her true identity.

Although after today's events, Luo Di had clearly become one of Gwen's closest friends, second only to her family!

But even good friends need to have some small secrets of their own.

....

On Monday, Luo Di received a call from Harry.

He said there was a company meeting in the afternoon, and he, as a new shareholder and vice president, needed to attend.

Luo Di, who had nothing else to do, readily agreed.

These past two days, he still hadn't signed in to get any better mutant abilities.

Both sign-ins were trash Ipsilon, which he had decomposed to accelerate the development of his Energy Absorption ability.

He wondered when this unlucky streak would end?

Luo Di began to miss the days when he frequently signed in to get Delta abilities.

Although Delta abilities didn't have much combat power.

At least they didn't cause any physical changes!

Merging them was fine; there wouldn't be any problems.

Unlike Ipsilon, if Luo Di dared to merge one, he would immediately turn into a non-human!

He was exasperated.

2 PM.

Luo Di drove a blue and white Koenigsegg to the Osborn Group's headquarters building in Free City.

After parking the car in the exclusive parking space for senior company executives, Luo Di got out and walked into the building with an employee ID.

Harry had sent him the employee ID earlier.

Without it, even a company shareholder couldn't enter the building.

Speaking of which, this was Luo Di's first time at the Osborn Group.

Although he and Harry were good brothers, Harry himself didn't get along with his father, so he rarely came to the Osborn Group, let alone Luo Di.

Therefore;

Today was also Luo Di's first time entering this building.

As soon as he walked into the lobby on the first floor of the Osborn Building, Luo Di saw a huge three-dimensional projection.

The person in the projection was the deceased Roman Osborn.

As the founder of the Osborn Group, even though Roman Osborn was no longer alive, traces of his existence remained in every corner of the company.

Including this huge three-dimensional projection that could be seen at first glance upon entering!

"Harry actually didn't change the image to his own."

Luo Di smiled and muttered.

It was clear that after Roman Osborn's death, the relationship between the two father and son had indeed eased quite a bit.

Otherwise, with Harry's past temper, he would have long since replaced Roman Osborn's virtual projection!

After all, Harry was now the chairman and CEO of the Osborn Group; he had the right to do so.

At the same time;

Just as Luo Di walked into the Osborn Building, Gwen, who had just delivered a document on the third floor, also happened to see Luo Di walking into the lobby.

"Luo Di?!"

Gwen was a little surprised to see him here.

"Why is he here?"

"Is Luo Di also an Osborn employee?"

Gwen thought to herself.

However, thinking about the house Luo Di lived in and the car he usually drove, even if Luo Di was an Osborn employee, he was definitely not just an ordinary employee.

Otherwise, where would he get so much money to buy a car and a house?

"Should I go introduce myself to him again later?"

Gwen suddenly thought of something fun, and a mischievous smile appeared on her lips.

The person Luo Di knew was Spider-Woman. What did that have to do with her, Gwen Stacy?

So this didn't prevent Gwen from introducing herself to Luo Di again.
