Chapter 5 - Dinner

Chapter 5

"Dinner"

Adrian and his guards were walking toward the Afflueth Kingdom's palace, his glance carefully locked to the luminous lanterns from each house. The cold air slowly pierced his skin, with him looking at the sky that slowly darkened.

It's getting cold, but I'm so happy to help that girl… Allie, how beautiful her name is. Adrian could only smile. As soon as he realized, he immediately tried to forget about it. It felt so embarrassing.

Adrian then tried to remember what she looks like, with a few details lingering in his mind. She was depicted as a shy girl wearing a paper bag on her face, her beautiful hair perhaps was tied or maybe she was a short-hair girl. She was wearing a white clothes, a pure color like milk. She was also wearing a whitish skirt, a short skirt yet enough to hide her privateness.

While Adrian was focused by that, suddenly, one of his guards asked him a question curiously, "Sir Cadeyrn, do you manage to return that girl's money back?"

Snapped by the question, Adrian gently yet coldly replied to his knight, "Yes, I did."

"It's a good deed, well then. You were doing great, Sir Cadeyrn."

Adrian could only smile after hearing that, he never believed he was able to help someone even in his second life. With the crowds slowly fading and being changed by silence, Adrian felt tranquility flowing through his body and mind. Even though day nigh over, a few sellers stayed selling and opened their stores.

As soon as he arrived at the palace, his pale yellow-colored eyes were fixed on a red-haired woman who stood near the door of the palace while staring at him unwavering. After realizing, Adrian eventually knew that she was Rosey, her stare was like impaled his soul.

With Adrian slowly walking toward the door of the palace, Rosey with a joyful face different from before, she was happy that Cadeyrn fulfilled his promise. With a smile etched on her face, she spoke, "Cadeyrn? T-this is the first time for you to ever fulfill your own promise!"

Rosey was too hyped with that, she even immediately hugged Adrian in a warm embrace. Adrian's face reddened once again, a magnificent feeling.

A-again!? This is so embarrassing… Adrian's lips were twitching, he was confused about what to say.

"Well then, let's go inside, Father is awaiting us in the dinner room!" She uttered loudly to Adrian, followed by unleashing her embrace.

With a confused face, Adrian could only nod at her. Rosey guided Adrian toward the dinner room which was located near the King's room, in a hallway he had walked through hours ago, perhaps. Adrian observed the detail of the hallway once again, until his gaze immediately locked to maids who were preparing food for the royal family.

Uh? I think the food would be so good, even the maids are so busy.

A smell of excellent and fancy food stung his nose, with a noble rank, Rosey and Adrian entered the dinner room with the door opened by two maids who respected them.

From afar, he saw four people who were sitting on their chairs, while facing a long table before them. The table was located near windows which were closed by red-colored curtains, the dinner room was painted white, on the ceiling there was a golden chandelier which shone upon them.

Adrian also saw two empty chairs, perhaps it might be for him and Rosey. The King's gaze was terrifyingly locked to Adrian, he felt so nervous and he could even feel his hands twitching. His pale yellow-colored eyes… terrifying.

In the middle of the table, there was a king respected by his people. Conrad Helbert, the king of the Afflueth Kingdom. His hair colored yellow, same with the color of Cadeyrn's hair, King Conrad was wearing casual clothes at that time. His nature and characteristic was prodigious, he is a kind-hearted person which was inherited by Rosey.

On the right side of King Conrad, Queen Elizabeth majestically sat on her chair. Her red-colored hair flowed down, she was wearing brownish-color clothes at that time. Her facial features were so beautiful and dazzling like was chiseled by a sculptor, everything was almost perfect like Rosey.

On the left side of King Conrad, there was Ludwig Helbert, the oldest son of the royal family. He was wearing white clothes and black pants, his wavy-hair colored yellow like his father. His characteristic was quite unpredictable, but he wholly was so annoyed by Cadeyrn. He usually underestimates the third son, because Cadeyrn is always protected by his father.

Beside Ludwig, there was a joyful and sweet boy who was swaying his legs in boredom. Lymus Helbert is the youngest son in the royal family, he is an innocent and happy boy who still has curiosity. His hair is also yellow-colored, after all, the sons of Conrad inherited yellow-colored hair.

Rosey sat beside Queen Elizabeth, while Adrian literally sat while facing King Conrad, and also helped by the maids. Adrian was swaying his legs anxiously, he withdrew his hands and placed them on his lap. He crossed his ten fingers, while a nervous face was displayed on his face.

"See, I've said Cadeyrn can change and this is the example!" King Conrad spoke eagerly, he finally opened the conversation between each other with this. A proud face plastered over his face.

"Well then, it's good for our son to slowly abandon his foul former self, it's excellent progress!" Queen Elizabeth answered her husband, agreeing with him while looking at Adrian with her red-eyes that ablaze.

"Huh, I bet he will be naughty again," Ludwig muttered in an annoyed way, with him leaning forward and withdrawing his right hand and placing it below his chin.

Rosey who heard that, immediately drew her hands on the table, before replying in a conceiving way, "Ludwig, I think Cadeyrn could really become a better boy."

"Ya, ya, whatever you say." Ludwig then leaned against his chair, while crossing his arms in a disbelieving expression.

Receiving that answer, Rosey could only look at Ludwig while her smile was twitching also with her eyes. With an uncomfortable feeling, Adrian could only watch the family talking so intently.

Why are they talking so intensely, and why 'Ludwig' somewhat hates me. Adrian mumbled to himself.

Until their conversation was broken by a few maids who came to their table, and one by one put many of the delicious and delectable foods on it. A few of the maids also prepared plates and napkins for Conrad's offspring, as they raised the food covers up.

There were well-done meats on the table, the smell of spices and seasoning instantly pierced everyone's nose. There was also a bottle of extracted and fermented Petrioth fruits, as the maids slowly poured it down into each glass that was available on the table—the smell of faint alcohol combined with watermelon and strawberry, making it so strange.

King Conrad confusedly raised his eyebrows, he looked at the meats that were so ample. He immediately asked one of the maids with curiosity, "Why are the meats so plentiful today?"

"Your Highness, the hunters got much load, while keeping to maintain the population of Crowned-beasts in Ebonwood Forest, Your Majesty." The maid responded in a respectful way.

Adrian who was trying to drink from his glass was instantly snapped by the maid's answer, he even coughed softly by that.

Crowned-beasts!? What kind of animals is that? This world is so unique.

King Conrad only nodded at the answer, with everything was ready, the prosperous family then started to enjoy and eat their food. Adrian was silent while other family members were enjoying their food, he then looked at his own plate with meat on it. He hesitated to eat it, until Rosey spoke to him to eat the food gently.

"Cadeyrn, what are you waiting for? It's delicious, you know!" Rosey spoke softly to Adrian, with a chewing sound coming from her mouth.

Confused on how royal family members were eating in a table manner, Adrian simply tried to imitate them although it was not perfect. He was facing a challenge, when he tried to slice the meat on his plate, it's likely the meat slipped.

He didn't realize that King Conrad and Queen Elizabeth gazed at him while he was busy with his own matter, until Rosey withdrew her hands to help Adrian with his problem. The other family members only looked at the both of them, as they felt harmony suddenly splattered over the place.

Adrian only looked at Rosey while a smile was displayed on his face, the problem then was resolved. Until Lymus suddenly spoke in an eager way, "Rosey is so kind!"

Ludwig was only focused with his food, he didn't give an ounce to react to it. With a doubt, Adrian carefully put the sliced meat into his mouth while his right hand was likely trembling. Before the pleasant taste suddenly struck his tongue, he felt the meat was so delicious and juicy.

T-the taste… is so delicious! I think It's like a five star meat I can never afford.

While everyone was focused on their food, Rosey unexpectedly asked a question to her father about diplomacy, "Father, when will the delegates from Volmorg Kingdom arrive and talk about the diplomacy we have with them?"

"Several weeks more or perhaps a month more, I presume." King Conrad deliberately answered the question to cure his princess's curiosity.

Huh? Volmorg Kingdom? Is there another kingdom than this Kingdom where I live? Cool. Adrian continued to finish his food, after mumbling to himself once again.

After the warm dinner was finished, after the delicious foods he had eaten. Adrian then returned to his room, he lay on his bed while looking at the grand ceiling. He felt so tired yet happy, he was able to help Allie and ate the delectable foods today.

Because he thought about that too much, Adrian suddenly fell to slumber serenely.

A mysterious voice was talking to someone with a flat tone. The figure discussed and informed something to the mysterious figure he was talking with.

"Alex had been rescued, and the Special Forces were dazzled by what they saw. We had found the trace of another world, Mr. Ulinon."

With a soft laugh, the unknown figure whose nickname is, "Mr. Ulinon," then replied in a proud tone.

"Thank you for your information, I am so exhilarated by your finding. I once thought that something like 'that' was not real, but now, it has factual data.

"Well then, let's set our best performance at the theater. Do not disappoint Her, we are Her protector and also Her fighter."
