"King Frieza!" A stumbling voice called out from outside.
Frieza's hover chair turned and Sorbet appeared before him.
"Oh, Lord Sorbet, what is it?" Frieza's reminiscence was interrupted as he asked.
Sorbet bowed deeply, then cautiously requested, "King Frieza, it has already been a year since your resurrection. Shouldn't we resume our plan to conquer the universe?"
When Sorbet said this, there was still a trace of fear in his heart. After all, he was only asking tentatively.
By all rights, the mighty reputation of the Frieza Force should have been restored ever since Frieza's revival.
Yet, after so much time had passed, Frieza had not made a single move.
The Emperor of the Universe's mind was something Sorbet could never guess. However, since there was growing unrest among the troops, he had no choice but to bring it up.
Frieza narrowed his eyes and gave Sorbet a polite smile. "Lord Sorbet, it's still far too early. We must not act rashly."
With that, Frieza rose from his hover chair and turned toward the training chamber. He knew that although he had returned to life, his strength had only reached the level of Golden Frieza.
During his time in the underworld, he had focused solely on spiritual cultivation.
His physical strength did not yet match his mental strength.
If he were to seek revenge against Trunks and the others now, he likely wouldn't be able to overpower them.
That was why Frieza devoted himself entirely to training.
"Oh, by the way, has Tagoma been reconstructed yet? "
"He has, my lord. I've arranged for him to continue as your sparring partner."
Frieza shot Sorbet a look that made Sorbet feel a chill run down his back.
Tagoma was one of the elites of the Frieza Force.
There was simply no one stronger to serve as Frieza's training partner, so Frieza had chosen him.
However, Frieza's methods were cruel beyond measure.
Every time, he tore Tagoma into several pieces before tossing him into a medical chamber to recover.
"King Frieza, it will take another hour."
Frieza paused for a moment before returning to his hover chair.
"No rush. Let's wait until Tagoma is revived."
Seeing Frieza sit back down, Sorbet bowed respectfully once again.
"King Frieza, I have some news to report."
"Oh? What news?" Frieza gave him a sidelong glance.
Sorbet began to recount: "When we went to find the Dragon Balls to resurrect you, we passed by a planet called Vampa. There, we discovered two Saiyans."
The moment the word "Saiyan" was spoken, Frieza's eyes twitched slightly, revealing a faint gleam of hatred.
"These two seemed trapped on that planet. They didn't appear to know that you had exterminated the Saiyan race."
At the time, the Frieza Force was short on manpower. That old man had a battle power of 5,000. So I recruited them into the Frieza Force. The father and son were willing to serve under you, King Frieza."
Frieza tilted his head and murmured, "The father has a battle power of 5,000. What about the son?"
"They are father and son. The son's battle power isn't clear, but it's obvious that he is no ordinary fighter."
"There were several times when they were provoked, and the boy would erupt with an abnormal amount of power. But each time, the old man suppressed him with a remote device."
Hearing this, Frieza's interest was clearly piqued.
Sorbet continued: "One more critical piece of news, King Frieza: the true goal of these two is to take revenge on Vegeta!"
Frieza stood up from his hover chair once again. "Oh?"
Sorbet then recounted Paragus's story of being exiled all those years ago in detail.
"King Frieza, why don't we turn the situation to our advantage and let these two Saiyans take their revenge on Vegeta?" Sorbet smirked slyly.
Those words struck right at the core of Frieza's thoughts.
Currently, he didn't know what level Vegeta had reached. With such an opportunity right in front of him, why would he waste it?
Frieza gave a meaningful smile and murmured, "Interesting...internal strife. I enjoy watching that sort of show. Well then, where are this father and son now?"
Sorbet placed his hand on the communicator. "I'll summon them right away."
He immediately issued the order to Paragus. "Paragus, respond. King Frieza wishes to see you both."
The voice of an old man came from the scouter. Paragus sounded puzzled. "King Frieza?! Does he want to meet us in person?"
For some reason, a faint unease stirred in Paragus's heart.
After all, Frieza had been resurrected quite some time ago and had never summoned Paragus before.
In the old days, Saiyans had always been at the very bottom of the Frieza Force. Frieza might show courtesy to any other subordinate, but toward Saiyans, he had always harbored some kind of hidden resentment.
Still, Frieza's command was not something Paragus could disobey.
"Very well, Lord Sorbet. I'll bring Broly with me."
A few minutes later, the hatch doors opened once again. An old man and a young warrior strode inside.
"King Frieza, Lord Sorbet!" Paragus stood stiffly and upright.
Frieza greeted them with a polite smile. "Ho ho ho, Lord Paragus, no need for such formality."
His gaze shifted to the towering figure of Broly. From the young Saiyan, Frieza sensed extraordinary power.
For some reason, he also seemed familiar. Frieza narrowed his eyes, and long-buried memories surfaced. This fellow looked far too much like the insane Saiyan he had seen on Earth ten years ago!
Frieza grinned; his decision was firm. These two would be the perfect tools with which to test Vegeta.
"And this is?" Frieza asked.
Paragus quickly introduced: "This is my son, Broly."
"Broly, bow before King Frieza at once!" Paragus barked at his son, who stood dumbfounded.
But Broly, looking lost, didn't know how. After glancing at his father, he clumsily imitated his movement.
"Frieza! Hello! I'm Broly!"
The words nearly made Paragus's heart leap into his throat.
'No honorifics! No respectful address to Frieza! Surely, Frieza would be enraged.'
Yet, to Paragus's astonishment, Frieza merely chuckled. "Ho ho ho... Hmm, not bad. Broly. A fine name."
"By the way, I know where Vegeta is. Since you want revenge, you could try to find him."
At those words, Paragus's eyes lit up. "Truly? King Frieza!"
Frieza nodded with a smile.
"Yes."
Paragus clenched his fist tightly. "Please, tell me!"
"Earth," Frieza said without hesitation. "I'll send you its coordinates. Prepare yourselves."
Hearing this, Paragus rushed out immediately, forgetting that his son, Broly, was still standing there. Broly remained where he was, once again caught in Frieza's piercing stare.
So alike.
Far too alike.
Frieza then asked, "Broly, was it? Do you have a younger or older brother?"
Broly just looked confused and shook his head. It was hard for Frieza to tell if he was saying he didn't know or that he didn't have one.
"Broly! Come with me quickly!" Paragus reentered, grabbed his son's hand, and hurried out.
Seeing this, Frieza became even more interested. He muttered to Sorbet, "Come. We'll observe them from the shadows as well."
