Watching the entire Frieza Force vanish under General Rilldo's metallic onslaught, Frieza didn't feel a flicker of sorrow. The deaths of those who followed him seemed to have absolutely nothing to do with him.
He simply stared coldly at General Rilldo, who hovered in the mid-air above him.
To Frieza, this man certainly possessed considerable strength. After all, by his own boasting, he had personally killed the real Tagoma. That alone placed his power above that defunct commander.
Frieza clapped his hands together lightly, a sound that echoed unnervingly in the sudden silence. He smiled, a cold, sickening gesture.
"Hohoho… General Rilldo."
"Your skills are truly impressive. I, Frieza, will now grant you two choices."
Rilldo retracted the surrounding metallic arms that had crushed the last of the soldiers and looked down at Frieza with patent mockery.
"Oh? Two choices?"
Frieza nodded politely, his eyes never leaving the General's. "Yes, General Rilldo. I'll only say this once, so think carefully."
"The first choice, swear loyalty to me."
"The second, die."
Frieza's eyes suddenly grew sinister, but in the very next moment, Rilldo's expression hardened into a snarl.
"So that's your ultimatum? My apologies," he sneered, "but there's no way I'd ever agree to that."
"Because I am the ruler of this planet!"
As he finished speaking, Rilldo erupted with an immense, mechanical surge of energy.
Frieza watched coldly, his piercing eyes narrowing slightly as a thought flashed through his mind: It seems that fake Tagoma's words were half true and half false. According to him, Rilldo should have been killed by Cooler… yet here he is, perfectly alive. No… Cooler shouldn't have had any reason to be revived in the first place.
As Frieza pondered this contradiction, Rilldo suddenly launched his attack, charging straight at the Emperor.
Frieza smirked with supreme confidence.
No matter. I'll just kill him again myself.
In an instant, Frieza gathered a glowing purple ki blast in his palm. His body blurred and vanished, his speed so extreme that it escaped Rilldo's sight entirely.
The next moment—
Rilldo's instincts screamed danger.
Reacting immediately, he utilized his special ability to rapidly construct a massive, multi-layered wall of reinforced steel directly before him.
BOOM!
The sound thundered through the air as the wall was instantly pierced through by Frieza's outstretched hand.
At that same instant, Rilldo's body jerked backward violently, his eyes widening in complete shock. He hadn't expected Frieza's speed to be this overwhelming, in just a single second, he had already appeared directly in front of him.
Clearly, Rilldo had no true understanding of the Emperor of the Universe's real strength. He had heard Frieza's reputation, of course, but in his mind, any "cosmic emperor" who could be defeated by a single Saiyan didn't seem particularly impressive.
However, today's confrontation shattered that delusion completely. He understood now: Frieza's title was no mere boast.
Desperately, Rilldo crossed his arms over his chest to block the incoming strike.
But it was far too late.
The ki blast in Frieza's hand flashed forward like lightning, and in the blink of an eye, it was right in front of Rilldo's face.
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!"
General Rilldo let out a scream of agony, a thunderous roar that echoed across the entire Planet M2, reverberating for a long time before finally fading away.
BOOM—!
"I told you," Frieza said, his voice laced with cold finality. "You have only two choices."
"Either bow before me—"
"Or die."
"This is the price for defying me, Rilldo."
With an icy gaze, Frieza raised a single finger. A beam of energy shot forth, piercing straight through Rilldo's body in an instant.
However, to Frieza's surprise, Rilldo did not bleed, nor did he fall. Instead, his body dissolved into a strange, gaseous substance and quickly dissipated into the air.
"What's going on?" Frieza's eyes narrowed. He had never seen anything quite like this.
He frowned, deep in thought. This strange form of "death" left him both intrigued and unsettled. Could Rilldo not be a normal living being? Did he possess some special technique that allowed him to transform his body and evade death?
It doesn't matter, Frieza mused, a smirk returning. His energy signature has completely vanished. For someone like Rilldo, even if he were immortal, he'd still end up half-dead after facing Frieza. And if Rilldo ever reappeared, dealing with him again would only take a flick of Frieza's finger.
What truly caught Frieza's interest, however, was something else, unimaginable wealth. This planet clearly possessed an extremely advanced technological civilization. The corners of Frieza's mouth curled upward into a greedy grin. A planet with such an advanced level of civilization would surely fetch a staggeringly high price.
He decided to stop worrying about Rilldo's bizarre disappearance for now, and instead focus on exploring the riches of this world.
…
Inside a grand and opulent palace, an old man dressed in eccentric clothing stared intently at a massive screen before him, his eyes gleaming with excitement and anticipation. Beside him sat a towering giant, several meters tall, radiating an aura of chilling dominance and power.
"It seems Frieza really did come," the old man murmured with satisfaction.
"Dr. Myuu," the massive figure on the throne spoke in a deep, commanding voice, "it looks like that Tagoma you sent out proved quite useful."
"He actually managed to lure Frieza here."
Dr. Myuu chuckled smugly, his sharp eyes glinting with cunning. "Heh heh… King Cold, never underestimate us Tuffles."
With confidence brimming in his voice, Dr. Myuu stepped closer to the screen, his gaze locking directly onto Frieza's cold, merciless eyes, as if trying to peer straight through the display and into the Emperor's mind.
But just then, a strange cloud of vapor began swirling beside him. The gas quickly condensed, its form solidifying until, within seconds, it reshaped into a humanoid figure.
The form of General Rilldo, restored and whole once more.
"Apologies… Dr. Myuu," Rilldo said, bowing slightly, "I failed to kill Frieza."
At that moment, the giant on the throne, King Cold, finally spoke.
"Heh… I'd be surprised if you had managed to kill him." King Cold's deep voice rumbled through the chamber as he rose to his full height.
"After all, he's Frieza, my son."
"Did you truly think someone of your level could defeat him?"
He then turned toward Dr. Myuu and said calmly, "Come, Dr. Myuu. Let's go pay my son a visit."
As he spoke, a chilling, murderous aura flared in his eyes.
"Frieza… my son…" King Cold murmured darkly. "I'm going to give you a father's love, you'll feel it deeply."
