On the vast, metallic surface of Planet M2… Frieza drifted aimlessly, his eyes observing the world around him.

The planet's technology was staggeringly advanced. It made him involuntarily think of that blue mudball, Earth; the resemblance was almost too much.

"Hmm, not a bad planet at all," He mused. "It should fetch quite a high price."

As he walked, a steel barrier suddenly shot up before him. The way it materialized felt jarringly familiar. Frieza looked up and, sure enough, there was another colossal metal wall.

There was no need to guess as this had to be the work of General Rilldo. And there Rilldo was, standing atop the metallic rampart once again.

"Oh?" Frieza said, a note of simple curiosity in his voice. "You're not dead?"

Rilldo looked down with a perfectly calm expression on his face.

"Heh, we meet again, Frieza." He crossed his arms.

Frieza returned his gaze with an air of disdain. He never took a defeated underling seriously.

"So, you're really still alive. But even so, what difference does it make? Hoh-hoh-hoh…" He chuckled. "I can kill you just as easily again."

Rilldo slowly opened his mouth to speak. "In a sense, I've already been dead for quite some time. The title of 'Emperor of the Universe' truly lives up to its name. I, Rilldo, must admit my respect. However…"

He paused, a slight edge entering his tone. "What if another Emperor of the Universe were to make a move?"

At that, Frieza's body tensed, the shift barely perceptible. Then, from behind him, came a voice he hadn't heard in an age..."Frieza… my son."

Frieza spun around and a painfully familiar silhouette began to materialize before his eyes. It was none other than his long-dead father, King Cold.

To say Frieza wasn't shocked would be a gross understatement. His mind started a frantic internal scramble.

"How is this possible? Father's actually been resurrected? Impossible! I've held onto the Two-Star Dragon Ball this entire time, that fake Tagoma was lying! He shouldn't have been revived with the Two-Star Ball. Could it be… the other Dragon Balls?"

Images of the Namekian and Earth Dragon Balls flashed through his mind, but he instantly dismissed the thought.

"Impossible. The people on Earth are too strong; no one could possibly get to Namek or Earth to use those spheres."

Frieza's gaze returned to Rilldo as he silently thought to himself. "Why is Father with this stranger?"

He then studied King Cold more closely. Behind his father stood an unfamiliar old man, someone Frieza had never once seen before. Everyone surrounding King Cold was a complete unknown.

"Could these be the 'remnants' the fake Tagoma spoke of, Father's loyalists?"

But even as he thought it, Frieza felt a strong sense that something was wrong. He knew nearly all of his father's old guard. They had either sworn loyalty to him or to Cooler.

This old man and Rilldo couldn't possibly be remnants of his father's old forces.

Frieza locked eyes with King Cold and gave a cold, mocking smile.

"Hoh-hoh-hoh… I truly didn't expect this. Father, you've actually come back from the dead. What a delightful surprise."

King Cold simply crossed his arms and replied calmly: "Frieza, my son, now that I have returned to life… Would you consider coming back to my side, and joining me once more in grand ambitions?"

Frieza went silent. Then his expression slowly darkened.

A moment later, he began to chuckle coldly. The laughter grew louder and louder, echoing sharply across the vast, metallic landscape. Frieza's expression turned exaggerated and wild as he burst into hysterical, mocking laughter:

"Hohoho!!!"

"Hahahaha!!!"

"Father, why don't you use that pea-brain of yours and think carefully about what you're saying? You want me, Frieza, to return to your side and work for you again? What an absolutely ridiculous joke!"

Frieza's tone grew intense, his voice louder with every word.

"Have you forgotten? Back on Earth, do you remember how you were gravely wounded by Cooler, and then killed?"

The moment those words left his mouth, King Cold's face was filled with shock. Even Dr. Myuu, standing beside him, looked utterly astonished.

Seeing their reactions, Frieza found himself genuinely puzzled.

"What's going on here? Father and his subordinate seem completely unaware of that event…"

Frieza's eyes carefully scanned King Cold from head to toe. From his physical form and his aura, there was no doubt, this was indeed the real King Cold. But if that were true, he should remember what happened on Earth back then.

After hearing Frieza's words, King Cold began to look flustered. "W–What is the meaning of this?! Cooler… wounded me? And I was killed?! But in my memory, I was slain by Son Goku… wasn't I?"

At that moment, Dr. Myuu's face darkened and a bad premonition welled up inside him. "Something's wrong… It seems there are events I don't know about. And even King Cold doesn't seem to know."

"Frieza! What nonsense are you spouting?! I am your father!" King Cold roared in fury.

Those words confirmed it for Frieza, his father still saw him as that obedient little boy who once followed orders without question.

It seemed… a significant part of King Cold's memory was missing.

Frieza rose into the air, meeting his father's gaze.

"Father… It appears you've forgotten something important. But don't worry…" He sneered. "I'll remind you right now."

"Ten years ago, Cooler gravely wounded you… and the one who delivered the final blow, sending you back to Hell…"

"...was me!"

After those words, King Cold's composure completely collapsed. Frieza's claim struck him like a bolt of lightning.

"Frieza… what are you saying?! You mean, you're the one who killed me?!" King Cold shouted, his eyes wide with disbelief. He couldn't comprehend that his own beloved son would ever kill him.

But in the very next second, Frieza's figure suddenly vanished.

When he reappeared, his fist was already flying straight toward King Cold.

A deafening BOOM echoed through the air.

King Cold instantly exploded into vapor, his energy dispersing into the wind. His death was identical to Rilldo's moments earlier.

Dr. Myuu stood frozen, his eyes wide in absolute shock. He had never imagined that Frieza could obliterate King Cold with a single punch.

But just as Frieza thought the matter was over… King Cold, just like Rilldo, reappeared before him once again.

King Cold was indeed dead… But now, he had come back to life.
