Chapter 195 - Chapter 195

His own chakra had greatly restricted the jutsu he could perform.

Even most B-ranked and higher Taijutsu techniques were now difficult for him to master. Because such Taijutsu often required chakra support too.

Although Taijutsu generally required far less chakra compared to other techniques, it was still beyond what he could currently handle.

"I have to say, chakra really is fundamental. Suddenly I feel like Neji, bound by the Cage Bird seal?" Shiki let out a bitter, helpless smile as he scanned his body, realizing his current condition was worse than being under the Cage Bird seal.

"Why don't we go look for Tsunade-sama together?"

A calm, cold voice echoed through the room. Somehow, Hayate Gekko was already sitting on the windowsill of the ward.

He leaned his head outward, seemingly taking in the view of Konoha.

A gentle breeze came, lightly swaying his hair.

"Hayate-sensei, you're showing off again," Shiki clicked his tongue, unable to resist a remark.

"Do you know how this is called? Letting your true colors show?" Hayate glared at Shiki, lips slightly pouting, as if saying, "If you don't admit it, I'll beat you up."

Shiki naturally unfazed, shot Hayate a scrutinizing glance. "You mean your sickly nature has finally shown itself?"

Hayate sighed, turning serious. "Forget joking around with you. I have things to do later. Remember this—pack up before tomorrow morning. Team 9 members are all preparing for a journey of training."

With that, Hayate vanished instantly, and only at moments like this would others realize just how strong this seemingly frail man actually was.

Shiki looked out the window and gave a light sigh. "Every time we go somewhere, Hayate-sensei always ends up chatting with Yugao-san for quite a while." [To be continued...]

Chapter 167 Mission

"Soon, Naruto will meet the Pervy Sage, right?" After everyone had left the ward and gone their separate ways to handle their tasks, Shiki placed his arms behind his head, quietly contemplating.

Truthfully, he'd originally wanted to meet Jiraiya first. After all, Jiraiya was one of those figures who once deeply moved him.

Perhaps, he could even train alongside Naruto under Jiraiya for a while.

As a member of the Sannin, Jiraiya should be able to offer many constructive suggestions regarding his training.

"But perverted Uncle Jiraiya probably doesn't have any solution for this type of chakra pathway injury either, right?"

Shiki muttered as he tried to circulate chakra through his body. As he applied slight force, when the amount of chakra exceeded a certain limit, an intense pain immediately shot through him.

"It seems I can only hope Tsunade-sama has a way."

With a light sigh, Shiki shook away his frustration and threw off his blanket.

He slipped on the white hospital slippers and got ready to step outside. After all, staying alone in the ward felt somewhat oppressive.

Besides, just as Shiki had said, considering his recovery rate combined with emergency treatment from Medical Ninjas, although his injuries weren't fully healed yet, he practically didn't have any major issues anymore.

That's also why Hayate has chosen to leave early tomorrow morning.

He was well aware of how extraordinary Shiki's recovery ability was. At times, he even questioned what exactly this kid's body was made of.

That was, until one day, he heard from Kakashi about Naruto's regeneration capacity.

Shiki had just walked to the door when suddenly a creaking sound emerged, and the door pushed open.

Ito Makoto entered holding two swords. The left hand held a black sword, while the right was his nameless blade.

Shiki's eyes flickered with recognition—he immediately identified the sword in Ito's left hand as his Seiquan Sword.

"It's already been repaired. Here, return it to you now."

As he spoke, Ito tossed the black sword toward Shiki. The pitch-black sheath glided through the air, enclosing the Seiquan.

Shiki immediately reached out and caught it. In his hand, the black sword sharply contrasted with his current white hospital gown.

Cheng!

The sword was instantly drawn, and under the light of the ward, its silver blade gleamed brilliantly. Shiki deliberately ran his fingers along the blade—it felt exactly the same as before, bearing no sign of any break.

"How could it possibly be repaired this quickly?"

Shiki asked in astonishment. It had only been seven hours since the preliminary rounds ended.

Back then, it was only after the preliminaries that Ito had been able to take his Seiquan away from the tower in The Forest of Death.

Who could have imagined that now, his sword had already been restored as good as new?

"It's nothing, really," Ito said in a plain tone, as if recounting the most mundane thing. "For members of the Ito family, broken swords are actually commonplace. Repairing one's own weapons is just routine. After all, we cannot afford to abandon any weapon. Compared to other ninja who simply replace their broken weapons, being skilled in repair techniques isn't anything to be proud of."

Shiki swung the sword a few times and instinctively channeled chakra into the Seiquan.

But instantly, a smooth flow of chakra surged into his hand.

He couldn't help but ask, "This sword seems to incorporate some metal that allows chakra to flow through it?"

Ito nodded. "Correct. There was some leftover chakra-infused metal at home, so I used it on this sword. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been repaired this well."

"You've really got me speechless... but I'm not into guys, you know—"

Shiki gave a helpless look, feigning flattery, and even patted Ito's shoulder lightly.

It was shamelessly flirtatious—without a shred of shame.

Yet Ito remained as emotionless as ever. "I'm not into guys either."

"Come on, wooden face! Show a little reaction, will you? It's seriously making me awkward when I try to joke around."

Shiki had said it just as a test, but Ito actually forced out a smile.

Though that smile looked extremely unnatural.

"Not bad, not bad! You've improved quite a bit. I'll definitely teach you how to smile properly before I die."

Bang!

The door was kicked open violently. Before Shiki and Ito could even react—

Two swords were drawn in unison, both pointing toward the doorway.

"Awooo! Shiki, let's do some youthful training together!"

A green-clad figure appeared at the door, striking a punch-ready pose.

Shiki knew that aside from Might Guy, no one else would do something like this right now.
