Chapter 9 - What If There's Someone Home When You're Stealing?

Same route as last night.

As soon as Jun emerged from the alley, his legs halted and—"Eight Gates Released Formation: Rest Gate, Open!"

"…Really?"

Jun deadpanned in his own mind.

Bro, seriously? You think I'm too slow again, don't you?

He winced internally. His shoulder was still healing, and he only wanted to find a quiet spot to train. Did they really need to open the Eight Gates just for that?

Step! Step! Step!

The system-controlled body bolted forward with feral intensity, head down like a predator on the hunt.

Just like the previous night, Jun reached the entrance of the Uchiha district.

But then—swerved.

What now?!

The body changed course, sprinting down a side path.

Only when he vaulted a courtyard wall did Jun finally realize what was happening.

Hold up. Isn't this…

No way. This is Uchiha Tekka's house!

System?! What the hell are we doing?!

Was this revenge?

Payback for last night's training being interrupted?

BOOM!

Jun's leg lashed out, kicking open the wooden door like it owed him money. He marched inside without hesitation.

Meanwhile, at the Uchiha district gates...

Tekka walked with gritted teeth beside his companion.

"I've got time now, Inaho. I'm going to find that brat and settle the score tonight."

Inaho looked thoughtful. "He landed two kicks on you last night. Was that carelessness on your part—or has he been playing dumb this whole time?"

At fourteen, Inaho was older and more level-headed than the ten-year-old Tekka.

"Pfft." Tekka scoffed. "Obviously I let my guard down. We know what kind of loser he is—just like Obito. A complete waste of a clan name."

Inaho nodded. "Let's hope you're right. Either way, I'll come with you."

The two changed direction, heading straight toward Jun's house.

Inside Tekka's home

Jun, still under system control, marched into the bedroom like he owned the place.

This house was way bigger than his own—and somehow, he felt more familiar with it than its actual owner.

"Hey! Seriously! What are you doing?!" Jun shouted internally.

His body ignored him.

Without hesitation, he ripped the futon off the tatami mat and flung it to the floor.

"…That's it? Petty vandalism?"

Then he watched himself reach beneath the tatami and flip open a hidden compartment.

Click.

Three scrolls lay inside.

A chill ran through Jun's spine.

No way. Are you telling me…

Ding! Skill scrolls received—free of charge!

"…What?!"

Jun's soul screamed.

FREE?! THIS is what you meant by 'free'?!

No cost, huh?

Sure—if you don't count completely burning every bridge with Tekka.

The system continued cheerily: "Auto-mode activated. No worries!"

He watched helplessly as his hands pocketed two of the scrolls and opened the last—Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu.

You've got to be kidding me… Here?! You're gonna train HERE?!

The scroll was short—basic chakra molding, nature transformation, and key meridian pathways.

Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger!

Jun's fingers danced through the seals.

The hand signs were surprisingly smooth—like someone who'd practiced them a hundred times.

Bro—STOP! This isn't my quiet-ass street corner. This is prime residential zone!

You're trying to get me excommunicated, aren't you?!

Chakra gathered. He felt the internal flow crystal clear. His cheeks puffed out—

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Poof!

A tiny fireball the size of a melon sputtered out and fizzled in the air.

"…Okay, that's… not great. But at least it didn't explode anything."

Still, this wasn't safe.

This was someone else's house.

Worse—based on the time, Tekka should be done with guard duty by now.

He had to leave—now.

But the system didn't care.

Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger!

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Poof!

Another one.

Slightly bigger.

FOR THE LOVE OF—leave! Just leave!

No answer.

Third one.

Bigger again.

Jun's mind began to spiral.

Okay, yes. Fine. My "talent" is showing. Happy? I'm a prodigy. Please, let's GO.

In reality, just forming chakra and learning to mold nature change would take weeks for a new ninja.

But with the system driving him?

He was burning through attempts like it was a speedrun.

Fourth!

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Seventh!

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Each one larger, more refined.

He might be older than Anko by four years, but damn—it was clear now who had the better chakra reserves.

Uchiha bloodline, huh. Not bad.

Maybe not quite Senju or Uzumaki levels, but respectable.

Ninth…

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

And then—

BOOM!

The futon he'd tossed earlier caught fire.

"…Seriously?!"

"System, extinguish that NOW!"

Ding. Chakra depletion approaching safe threshold.

Jun froze.

Right. If you run out of chakra completely… you die.

"Auto-mode continuing. Three soldier pills dispensed—free of charge!"

FREE AGAIN?!

Jun's trust in this system had died the moment it started handing out scrolls like candy.

He screamed internally, watching the flames grow.

"PUT OUT THE FIRE—"

Instead?

His body turned and calmly walked out the front door.

Not even a glance back.

BOOM!

Didn't even vault the wall this time—just kicked the gate open like a thug.

Step! Step! Step!

He sprinted down another street and—

Vaulted over another wall.

"…"

Wait… I know this place.

Uchiha Obito's house.

BANG!

Same foot. Same door.

But this time… someone was home.

"Back already, Obito? Still barging in like you own the place," came a raspy voice from the dark.

An old woman emerged slowly, leaning on her cane.
