Chapter 91 - TST [91]

Since Trickstar Lycoris was Special Summoned first, and only after that did Bloom's draw effect activate, Orion must take 200 damage from Lycoris.

However, the actual damage Orion took was far more than just 200, since the effects of Dark Room of Nightmare and Trickstar Light Stage also applied.

Dark Room of Nightmare calculates damage based on the number of times effect damage is inflicted. Counting both Lycoris and Light Stage's effects, that's two triggers—600 damage total.

Adding it all together, Orion lost 1000 Life Points just from drawing a single card.

Seeing this, the spectators in the stands all smiled knowingly. They'd seen Morgan torment her opponents countless times with this chain in Virtual Duels, and now they were finally witnessing it live.

Orion, however, wasn't in such a "6-4-3" good mood. Wearing a mask of pain, he could only watch Morgan's plays helplessly.

"Next, I'll use another Trickstar Token on the field to set up the Link Circuit!"

"Link Summon another Trickstar Bloom!"

"Once again, Bloom's effect activates—when Link Summoned, the opponent draws 1 card!"

Hearing this, Orion's face went pale. Drawing 1 card meant losing another 1000 Life Points.

Even though his hand was being replenished, it was all at the cost of his Life Points!

Seeing Morgan feed her opponent cards only to burn their Life Points away, the commentator almost felt like he was home again.

"Dear viewers, I'm sure you're as excited as I am right now—we're finally seeing a Trickstar deck torment someone in person!"

"It's that familiar combo of giving cards and burning LP. I know it's not nice to say, but it feels just like coming home."

"And like everyone else facing Morgan's chains, Orion is helpless—he can only watch."

"Still, Orion is somewhat lucky. His Life Points probably won't be reduced to zero this turn."

Right after the commentator's words, Isla, who had been observing Morgan's chain, nodded slightly. She had studied Morgan's Trickstar deck and knew that unless Morgan had three Lycoris in hand in one turn, pulling off an OTK was difficult.

That's why Morgan summoned two Blooms for additional burn.

"Next, I'll use the two Trickstar Blooms to set up the Link Circuit!"

"Link Summon! Link-2! Trickstar Crimson Heart!"

A mature woman in a crimson dress appeared on the field, with a seductive expression, a graceful figure, and a queenly air, holding a pair of golden handcuffs.

[Trickstar Crimson Heart] [Link-2] [ATK: 2000]

Morgan didn't summon Holly Angel because she no longer had any Special Summon starters. Crimson Heart, however, had a draw effect that could both replenish her hand and search for new starters.

"I activate Trickstar Crimson Heart's effect!"

"By discarding 1 Trickstar card from my hand—"

Morgan discarded Trickstar Candina to the Graveyard and continued:

"—Both players draw 1 card from their Decks!"

"If my Life Points are 2000 or more higher than my opponent's when this effect activates, I draw 2 cards instead!"

'Another draw…'

Orion grimaced as he drew his card. Watching his Life Points tick down on his Duel Disk, this was the first time he'd ever found drawing cards so painful.

This turn alone, he had already lost 3000 Life Points.

And he hadn't even done anything yet…

Still, Orion didn't give up. Finally getting the chance to duel Morgan, he wasn't about to surrender so easily.

Glancing at his hand, he saw that thanks to Morgan's effect, he had drawn a new Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon.

Next turn, if he revealed Blue-Eyes White Dragon in his hand to Morgan, he could Special Summon Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon.

Alternative had a once-per-turn destruction effect. If he used it to destroy a Trickstar Lycoris, the burn damage would be greatly reduced.

Given the situation, Morgan probably couldn't bring his LP to 0 this turn…

If he could survive until next turn, with Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon plus Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, he'd feel much better—he might even win outright.

Quickly calculating the upcoming moves, excitement flashed in Orion's eyes. Perhaps he really did have a chance to win.

By now, Morgan had drawn two cards.

Her luck was good—she drew Terraforming and another Trickstar Candina.

Since Trickstar Light Stage's search effect wasn't once per turn, she could use another Light Stage to replace the previous one and search again.

She could easily fetch another Trickstar Lycoris to increase the burn from draws.

"I activate the Spell Card Terraforming from my hand!"

"Add 1 Field Spell Card from my Deck to my hand!"

"I add another Trickstar Light Stage to my hand!"

Seeing this, Milo nodded slightly. In his view, Morgan was extremely skilled at using card effects. Using a Field Spell with no once-per-turn restriction for another search was something many wouldn't think of.

"I activate another Trickstar Light Stage!"

The Light Stage on the field flickered, then returned to normal—it looked unchanged.

"From my Deck, I search Trickstar Lycoris and add it to my hand, version 2.0!"

Another little red one.

Orion broke out in a cold sweat. As a veteran spectator, he'd seen the hellish scene of three Lycoris on the field before.

Drawing cards was like draining blood.

"I activate Trickstar Lycoris's effect from my hand!"

"Return Trickstar Crimson Heart from the field to the Extra Deck and Special Summon this card to the field!"

An identical Lycoris appeared on the field.

Now, when Orion drew a card, he wouldn't just lose 1000 LP.

Looking at the field, Morgan smiled in satisfaction before setting a card.

"I Set 1 card and end my turn!"

Now it was the opponent's turn to play Yu-Gi-Oh!
