"Toy Vendor?"
'She's using a Fluffal Deck?'
Morgan was immediately stunned. Of course, she knew this Deck… though a bit niche, it was extremely powerful. As a Fusion Deck, Fluffal Fusions usually combined two kinds of monsters: Edge Imps and Fluffals. It was precisely the fusion of these contrasting monsters that gave birth to the twisted Frightfurs.
And the original owner of this Deck was quite a sunny person, especially when smiling.
Though Morgan hadn't really used this Deck before, she knew that it excelled at going second, breaking boards, and then exploding into combos.
That said, the Fluffal players Morgan had seen usually ran hybrids—some mixing with Branded or Eldlich. With those combined with Fluffal's insane draw power, the resource loops became very smooth.
Here, however, the girl named Yaoyao seemed to be running a pure Fluffal Deck. How effective it would be was uncertain.
Anyhow, what did she mean by making her a toy?
Surely she didn't mean that literally?
At such a young age, to already think in such perverse ways… clearly, Morgan had to teach her a lesson.
Morgan let out a cold laugh and shouted at Yaoyao:
"Hey! You're Yaoyao, right? So young, yet already so depraved! Looks like Big Sister Morgan will have to straighten out your warped worldview of 'six-eight-seven.' Listen carefully—you're not old enough to be using toys yet!"
"?"
Yaoyao slowly tilted her head, staring at Morgan in confusion. Every single word Morgan spoke was clear, but strung together, it made no sense to her.
How was her thinking depraved? Isn't it perfectly normal for kids to play with toys? She just wanted Morgan to play with her.
And since when was there an age limit on toys?
Yaoyao opened her portable computer, searching for an answer, but found nothing convincing.
At the same time, another point kept bothering her.
What did Morgan mean by 'using' toys?
Wasn't the correct phrasing 'playing' with toys?
Yaoyao shook her head. Morgan's words were as hard to understand as the boss's. Maybe this was just the world of adults.
At that moment, Hannah sat in the stands, staring speechlessly. Thanks to the microphones installed in every D-Wheel to prevent cheating, she could clearly hear both sides. Morgan and Yaoyao's conversation wasn't even on the same wavelength. And Morgan's imagination was way too ahead of itself.
Even Hannah felt her cheeks heating up at the exchange.
If the other students in the audience had heard this, it would've surely sparked a new kind of trend… not that Hannah dared guess what trend exactly.
But really? This silly-looking girl was the one the boss had sent?
She hadn't even met them yet and was already defecting to the enemy. Couldn't the boss recruit someone normal for once?
Hannah sighed. She really was doomed to toil away; she ended up doing all the work in the Shadow Duelist organization.
Just then, her phone rang.
Hannah glanced at the screen, then broke into a grin. Turning Hazel into a Shadow Duelist had indeed been the right call—the efficiency was superb.
Hazel had already compiled a list of everyone who had transferred schools within the past month before exams.
From that list, Hannah would identify the ones the boss had planted and round them all up for military-style training.
Her lips curled into a smirk as she turned her eyes back to the field.
Any Duel with Morgan at the center always drew attention. Practically everyone was watching her now. Or rather, watching Morgan herself… after all, she rarely wore a skintight outfit, and the crowd wanted their fill.
Her opponent, Yaoyao, had also entered the spotlight as a result.
"That girl's so cute! I love that kind of soft, moe type!"
"She's a freshman too, right? But I've never seen her before."
"Same here. Seems like she's always stayed in the dorms and never comes out. Even attends class online."
"Still, that Deck she's running is interesting—Fluffals!"
Amid the chatter, Yaoyao had already started her moves. The effect of Toy Vendor had activated.
"According to Toy Vendor's effect, I discard one card from my hand!"
"Then I draw one card from the Deck and reveal it. If it's a Fluffal monster, I can Special Summon a monster from my hand."
"If it's not, that drawn card is discarded."
Yaoyao drew another card, glanced at it, and immediately revealed it.
"I drew Fluffal Penguin!"
"Then I Special Summon it to the field!"
A plush penguin toy wrapped in a scarf, wearing a pair of cute earmuffs, appeared at her side, darting through the air.

"Next, I activate Fluffal Penguin's effect!"
"I Special Summon Fluffal Dog from my hand!"
"And with Fluffal Dog's effect, I add one Edge Imp Sabres from my Deck to my hand!"
Just as Morgan had said earlier, Fluffals required both Fluffals and Edge Imps as Fusion materials—neither could be missing. Now, Yaoyao had gathered them, and a Fusion Summon was inevitable.
At this point, Isla glanced at Morgan racing ahead on her D-Wheel and muttered:
"Didn't expect it… Morgan's riding skills are actually pretty good."
Jade gave her a deadpan look. "Why is your focus not on the Duel today? Who is that girl anyway? That Deck is weird—it's all toys."
Isla withdrew her gaze, smiling. "Frightfur is kind of a niche Deck. It's no surprise you don't know it. Regardless, niche doesn't mean weak—it just means few people play it."
"It's a Fusion Deck, but it requires monsters from two groups: Fluffals and Edge Imps."
She looked back toward Morgan. "That Yaoyao girl already has the materials. She's about to Fusion Summon. Going first, she'll probably try to set up suppression. What matters next is whether Morgan can break through on her turn. Funny, though… why does Morgan never win the coin toss for first turn?"
Hearing Isla's words, Jade turned back to the field.
Truth be told, Riding Duels were far more exciting than regular stand-up Duels.
"I activate the Spell Card, Frightfur Patchwork!"
"I add one Polymerization and one Edge Imp monster from my Deck to my hand."
By now, Yaoyao had assembled two full sets of Fusion materials. While Polymerization was technically card-disadvantageous, in Frightfur, it was a key part of their resource engine.
Promptly, Yaoyao began her Fusion Summon.
"I activate the Spell Card, Polymerization!"
"I fuse Fluffal Penguin on the field with Edge Imp Sabres in my hand!"
"Fusion Summon! From the Extra Deck—Frightfur Sabre-Tooth!"
The two monsters were sucked into a swirling vortex, and when it dissipated, a saber-toothed tiger bristling with blades emerged. Its form was gruesome, as if mutilated violently.

Yet, Yaoyao wasn't finished.
"I activate Fluffal Penguin's effect from the Graveyard!"
"If it was used as Fusion Material for a Frightfur monster, I can draw two cards, then discard one."
She drew two, smiled, and pitched another card to the Graveyard.
"From my hand, I activate the Spell Card, Frightfur Fusion!"
Just like Red-Eyes Fusion or Destiny Fusion, Frightfur Fusion was Fluffal's archetypal Fusion Spell. It allowed Fusion Summons using materials banished from the Graveyard.
"I banish Fluffal Penguin and Edge Imp Sabres from my Graveyard as Fusion Materials!"
"Fusion Summon! Frightfur Kraken!"
From the vortex emerged a purple squid, its tentacles tipped with scythe-like blades, radiating that same grotesque aura.

Frightfur's first-turn boards weren't exactly oppressive—their interruptions weren't strong, and their resilience wasn't high. However, Kraken was formidable in its own right, capable of destroying one monster each turn, then switching to Defense Position after attacking, boasting a massive 3000 Defense that raw Attack alone couldn't crack.
"I Set two cards face-down and end my turn!"
Two face-downs appeared beside Yaoyao.
As her turn ended, Yaoyao accelerated past Morgan, pulling ahead on the track.
Summoning two powerful Fusions in a single turn while keeping plenty of resources in hand left the crowd impressed. The soft and cute girl clearly had the skill to match her appearance.
"That combo was so smooth! No wonder she never attends class—her skill is already top-notch!"
"Are all the freshmen monsters this year? I feel like I've wasted a whole year here."
"Don't worry—even another year won't change anything."
"Ouch. I need a word harsher than brutal to describe this pain."
"Wonder what Deck Morgan is on, and how she plans to respond. Looks like this will be another amazing Duel!"
Of course, Morgan was running Sky Strikers. After all, who didn't love transforming into a magical girl?
She looked at the Spell Cards in her hand—Sky Striker Mobilize - Engage! and Sky Striker Mecha - Eagle Booster among them—and began to laugh.
Time to transform.
Big Sister Morgan would show her how toys were really meant to be used.
"My turn! Draw!"
