Chapter 1 - The Attack On Oakhaven

A boy, with brown eyes and curly hair walked through a highly populated crowd in the Market Sector holding a white hanging bag in his hands. He looked pale and skinny with not much of a physique. He wore a glowing blue ring on his right index finger."It's one heck of a job to get the supplies!" He murmered, as he reached an apartment like building. He stepped into an elevator which took him to the seventh floor. He opened a door labelled 'Room 112' and placed the bag on a table. "Hey Grandma, I have bought supplies for the week. Now I am going to play" he screams. An old lady, about 75 years old enters from a room. "Thank you, Light my dear" she says as she takes the white bag of supplies. "Once I grow up, I will earn a lot of money and we can shift to a better planet" Light said with determination in his eyes. The Planet they lived in was supplied with food pills and water every week as it lacked water and didn't get enough sunlight. Light ran out of the door as he gets off the old apartment and rushes towards an open field a few meters away. "You are late, big brother" said a young girl, about 7 years old wearing round lensed glases." I am sorry Lily, the line for supplies was quite big today" Light replied as he patted her head. They stood on a field of plain ground. There were no trees, grass or rocks. A sight completely different from Earth. The red coloured hard, uneven land was stretching as far as their eyes can see on one side, and the City Of Oakhaven, with its capital castle on the other side. There were two more boys, the same age as Light standing beside him as they were deciding what game to play. They lived on a planet called as Oakhaven, a red coloured gaint Planet. It was one of the habitable Planets discovered by the humans. Though it had a suitable atmosphere of gases, it lacked fertile land for food and water. So the government provided the inhabitants with supplies every week. Less inhabitable planets were usually used for mining of jewels in them and to set up bases to fight against the Demons. Oakhaven belonged to an organisation know as 'The Guardians' . The inhabitants were all common people who were too poor to afford to live in a better planet. It was situated in a Solar System known as 'Rock Stretch' . It was almost on the border of Humans territory and consisted of only one big city named after the planet itself 'Oakhaven'. It looked like a red floating ball from the sky with a thick atmosphere and hundreds of asteroids circling it. There was a Castle in the center of the city known as the 'Capital Castle'. All the head security personnel along with the Chief of the Planet lived there. Regular mining was conducted in the outskirts of the planet for extracting jewels. Light, and his sister lived here with their grandmother since the time he was born. Light didnot particularly like the planet but had no choice. To live in a more comfortable planet, they were required to pay more taxes which Light and his family clearly could not afford. . "What game shall we play?" Lily asked Light with her soft voice. Before Light could answer, a buzzing alarm began to ring from the tall towers in the city, as red lights began to glow all over. Panic began to flood in the city as the civilians began to scream and morning. "What is this alarm?" asked a man. "Don't you understand? It's an emergency" replied another man. "I think the Demons are attacking us" another shouted. A huge airship suddenly appeared in the air, lingering over the city. It was coloured completely in gray and red. The it had two horn like structures on top of it and contained several huge lazer guns. The airship looked as if it appeared out of nowhere. It's shadow so big that it had engulfed the whole city. The security system was not at all alerted till it's appearance. A huge lazer canon opened from the bottom of the ship, pointing towards the city. It shot a huge yellow beam of lazer at the Castle in the center, instantly vapourising it. All the humans in it were killed before they could react. A door opened from the centre of the ship and numerous smaller airships began descending from it. The alarm in the city had activated and the defence canons shot blasts of energy upon the upcoming ships, destroying few of them. The others landed intact on the city and smoke filled the air as they opened. Light and his sister Lily, still in the outskirts of the city saw the visual in front of them, as the calm city turned into a warfield. Humanoid shaped, monstrous looking creatures stepped out of the airships. They had black eyes and short noses, with glowing sharp beast like teeths visible out of their mouths. They were about 7 feet tall and red coloured throughout their body with long claws on hands and legs but the most prominent feature about them were the two long White horns on top their head and their long sharp tails. "The Demons. The Demons have attacked us" the civilians screamed as the ran around the village. The securities tried their best to control the growing commotion but the earlier lazer blast had killed most of the army personnel. In the midst of panic, a special squad of 18 soldiers with equipped armors and blades arrive in what looked like armoured cars."Fear not citizens, The Guardians have arrived. The escort teams will be arriving. Please vacate the city immediately. You can use your power-ups for self defence." Ordered one the soldiers. The 'Guardians' were humans belonging to an independent organisation who were specifically trained in the use of power-ups to fight against the Demons. The Guardians unleashed a series of attacks on the charging demons. Few rised walls blocking the attacks coming from opposite end. The ones with power-up involving physical enhancement rushed to fight the Demons in physical combat, trying hard to hold off the Demons and let the citizens escape. "Stay calm, all of them are White Horns. This is not a big threat!" Said another soilder. All the demons had horns on their heads. The colour of the horns determined the power level of the Demons. But out of all the colours, White Horns were the weakest. Light and Lily stood in the outskirts as the saw the raging fight destroying their city infront of their eyes. Suddenly, a thought entered Light's mind. "Grandmother. Grandmother is still in there." He said in a panicking voice. Soon, rescue ships arrived from the sky. The citizens in the city rushed towards them, causing a stampede. Light held Linda's hand and rushed towards the city. "Lily, you head towards the rescue ships with our friends. I will go and bring Grandmother. " Light told her and ran off towards the apartment. As soon as Light left, a blast of black energy came towards Linda, hitting a boy next to her and killing him instantly. Three White Colour Horned Demons came towards her with their hands glowing with more of black energy pointed towards her. Linda ran back to the outskirts of the village. A Gurardian spotting the little girl carried her in his arms and started running away from the demons. He had a super speed power-up. Outnumbered by the attacking Demons, he ran at his top speed with the three demons following behind. Light, running towards the apartment was worried about his grandmother. He was an orphan from birth who had never seen his parents. He was raised and loved by his grandmother and cared deeply for her. As he reached the alley where his apartment was located, he saw that it was completely destroyed and 4 Guardians fighting against the Demons. "We are outnumbered. That lazer blast to the Capital Castle killed half of our men" one of the soliders cried. " We need to hold on until help arrives. The council has already been informed." The other replied. A Demon with Yellow Coloured Horns landed upon the Guardians from above, piercing their heads with its sharp tail and killed them instantly. "All of you humans will die" the demon roared with a menancing voice. Light ceased the opportunity and ran back towards the alleyway. He was now 15 years old but couldn't control his power-up. There was no way he could defeat a Demon and knew he would get killed if he encounters one, but his determination to save his Grandmother didnot let his fear take over. "The apartment is destroyed, grandmother should have escaped using her invisibility power-up. She should have come somewhere here" he thought as he entered another small alleyway. The Demons had already killed most of the Guardians and were killing as many as civilians as they could. The panic increased amongst the people but the reinforcements had not yet arrived. Light searched every alley untill he heard his grandmother's voice. He rushed to the direction of the voice and found her crushed under a rubble of fallen building. Tears ran down his eyes as he kneeled before her and tried to lift off the rubble. "Donot try to save me, Light dear. I am an old soul meant to die now or then. " She said with unbearable pain." No grandmother I will save you. Somebody please help!" Light cried at the top of his voice but head no response. " A demon attacked our apartment but I managed to escape with my invisibility power-up. But the commotion caused a building to fall and I got stuck under its rubble. Runaway, the Demons might come anytime." She said to Light with tears falling from her cheek. Light unwilling to give up tried to move the fallen parts of buildings but was unable to move it. "Oh poor boy. Want my help?" A menancing voice said from behind. Light felt that someone had come to help and turned around with a ray of hope in his eyes, but was terrified to see that It was a Demon with Yellow coloured horns. "Promise me that you will take good care of Lily" his grandmother said to him with her blood filled hands touching him with a faint glow. She used the last remains of her power to turn Light invisible. "Runaway my dear, this won't last long" she said looking deep into his eyes as his body began to turn invisible. Light, with no other choice began to run at his full speed, as the Demon could no longer see him. The angered Demon crushed the head of the old lady, killing her. Light turned and saw the grave scene of the death of his grandmother, with tears falling uncontrollably from his eyes. A new fear approached his heart, "Did Linda make it back to the Rescue Ship safely?" He asked himself as rushed towards the Rescue Ship. Linda and the Guardian carrying her were forced to run towards the restricted mining grounds by the following Demons. It was now vacant due the attack. A strong energy could be sensed coming from the dungeon due to the mining of gems, which were sources of energy and also used to create strong allies with metals that could be crafted into weapons.. It was a huge deep pit, with stairs leading downwards and hundreds of machineries everywhere. They ran deeper into the underground cell where the light got more dimmer trying to escape from the Demons. The Guardian put Lily on the group and said "You go in and hide. I will stall the Demons". 'Thank you sir' she said running further.Lily worried about her brother and grandmother rushed into the interiors of the dungeon going more beneath. The dark dungeon gave her thrills but she was out of options. She did not want die here and wished to look at her brother. She hid behind a rock in the shadows untill she heard footsteps uproaching her. On the other hand, Light was on his way running towards the Rescue Ship.
