Morris's POV

Every second that ticked by was torture as I waited for news. The police had triangulated the cell tower location and established a search grid. Teams were already moving into position, racing against time.

"Natalie..." Gloria's voice came through the speaker. "It's happening now."

"What do you see?" I leaned forward, desperate for information.

"The K-9 units just arrived. They're entering the building as we speak."

I exhaled shakily. "Thank God. Gloria, you need to get out of there immediately."

"Absolutely not. I'm perfectly safe where I am, and I'm staying put." Her tone brooked no argument.

Jasper sighed beside me. "Mom, it's the middle of the night. How can you possibly see anything?"

"I had Maria bring me your night vision binoculars while I was waiting by the salon," she replied smugly. "And they're mine now, by the way. You'll need to buy yourself a new pair."

Jasper dragged his hand down his face. "Mom, this isn't a spy movie. You're not James Bond."
