Chapter 4 - Wedding

It's been six days since I started training the soldiers. The wedding preparations have long been completed; just waiting for the guests to arrive.

I'm quite excited because today is the wedding. Honestly, my hands and feet are all tangled; the pressure on me is huge.

The war letter still hasn't been sent. I'll send it after the wedding to that piece of shit.

I need time to properly train the soldiers. The letter is always with me. I haven't sent another letter to avoid mistakes because we need intelligence anyway.

That bastard king and I have a blood feud.

That bastard killed my family. I'm the only one left alive. One of my reasons to become king is this.

That bastard will be the first to fall. He must be a stepping stone to expand my kingdom. But Lamorok was his son. Lamorok is already born, and Percival is connected to Pellionore.

That bastard killed my family. What's wrong with me killing him?

This time, I will support Artoria.

In the legend, Artoria fought against Lott. If Pellionore is not an option, I will help that woman. What a hassle.

If I kill Lamorok and the others, I highly expect the Counterforce will send the Old Man of Mountain, and he won't hesitate to kill me.

That alone is enough reason to avoid consequences.

Anyway, whether I kill him or not is up to me, but I could force him into a contract and turn him into something like my own slave.

That's an option I need to think about carefully.

I'd like to kill him, but things are difficult.

After declaring war and gaining Ryujin Jakka, even if he wanted to, he couldn't stand against me. Although King Pellionore is old, I don't think he will beat me because I have Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.

The kingdom is on vacation, but the knights work hard. King Lott mercilessly makes them work. The patrols have increased, and a new order has been established.

Even the generals do overtime.

It can be said that the people live comfortably because of the knights, but the knights' reputation among the people is very high. Wherever they go, everyone—at least in Orkney—welcomes them well.

I didn't see Morgan today. When I got out of bed, she wasn't there. Most likely, she's excited because of the wedding. This week, when she tried to advance the relationship, I only expressed it with a small kiss and didn't go further. I'm still not ready.

I'm wearing a suit and walking towards the wedding area. Balin is following me; he came with armor.

We reach a clearing in the forest. Birds are sitting around. Knights and people are mingled; the surroundings are magical.

In front of me is a lake as clear as the sky. The water is so clear that the fish swimming inside can be seen with the naked eye.

Envoys from some kingdoms have come. The kings themselves didn't come; they only sent their envoys to give gifts and leave. My knights have gathered everyone in a circular area. We are currently waiting for Morgan's father.

Then the trumpets sound. King Uther arrives. The wedding is about to begin. A handsome blonde-haired, blue-eyed man enters.

Though his face is very old, he hasn't lost his handsomeness. My wife, Morgan, comes alongside him in a red dress. When I see her, I feel enchanted because we both agreed to wear red. Yes, my suit is red with a white shirt and bow tie underneath.

Morgan only wears a long red dress—quite simple, but the simplicity makes her more attractive. At this time, there are no wedding dresses, so people usually wear their best clothes when getting married.

King Uther stands before me with Morgan. The knights are behind him, and he orders them to disperse.

But what surprises me is: where is Merlin, that incubus?

Anyway, it's not important. Today is my wedding, so I'm very happy. King Uther extends his hand, and I take it.

There's a smile on our faces, but I feel the dragon lineage in him. Is this the Welsh dragon? A very strong bloodline.

But King Uther looks at me, even more surprised, as if looking at a monster. We pull back our hands.

The wedding has officially started. Morgan and I sit at the table in front of the audience. Balin is behind me, ready for any order. I disciplined him quite well this week. King Uther sits with us at the table.

Suddenly, a magical circle appears before me. King Uther does not move. Most likely, the person I'm thinking of…

Merlin.

This half-incubus finally reveals himself.

He is worse than a cockroach, an incubus, and an expert at escaping. He smiles when he sees me.

"King Lott, nice to meet you. I am Merlin, the magician," he says in a cheerful voice.

But it's fake as hell; it's very obvious, at least from my perspective. Many gifts have been given to me, but an envoy sent by King Pellionore stands before me, and the officials deliver the gift.

It's a spear. Damn it. Are you trying to make me a lancer, Pellionore? Damn you, trying to bless me with E-rank luck.

I will try the spear.

Although I think I'm good with a spear but I'm better with a sword, so I ask the officials to bring me the spear. The metal feels good when I touch it, but I see a small inscription.

What the hell is this? Damn Pellionore.

I was going to make you my slave, but now you're dead. On the lower part of the spear,

It says Stercorem edas, meaning eat shit, fuck off, pellionore.

I will send you to hell and let you burn with your mother.

These insults anger me. I am not a saint. The envoy understands and smiles. He is ready to lose his mind because killing an envoy is a cause for war.

With a grim expression on my face, I say, "Thank you, King Pellionore, for your gift. I love it, and when the time comes, I will repay it abundantly."

The envoy doesn't understand or cannot read the inscription on the spear.

Merlin puts his hand to his mouth, pretending to laugh. I lean towards King Uther's ear: "King Pellionore has crossed the line. What do you think I should do?"

I tell him about the inscription on the spear. He gets angry because of this damn thing. Morgan looks at me worriedly.

Because she is close to me, she hears me well. Merlin seems to have known this from the start.

After this is over, I will form an assassin squad. These bastards need a lesson.

We decide what to do with King Uther. Knights care most about their honor.

An hour later, King Uther stands up.

Holding a wine glass, he strikes it.

"Today we celebrate that two hearts are one, two paths have united," he says in his powerful voice.

"Morgan and Lott, you are not only spouses but also the closest companions on the path of life."

Morgan and Lott reach out their hands to each other. They look into each other's eyes, filled with determination.

"Lott, do you accept your love for Morgan?" asks the priest.

"Yes, I accept," says Lott, his voice slightly trembling but determined.

"Morgan, do you accept your love for Lott?"

"I accept," Morgan answers.

Then he shouts, "I, King Uther, congratulate the couple who came together for marriage. Let the heavens bear witness."

He prays silently.

Then he gives us the rings. I put one on Morgan's left ring finger, and Morgan does the same on my left ring finger.

Everyone raises their wine glasses, including me: "Cheers."

Everyone drinks the wine.

That was the day I married Morgan.
