Seraphina's POV
My heart was beating so fast I thought it might burst.
"But if you ever mention going to another man again," he said, his lips brushing against my ear, sending shivers racing down my spine, "I won't be responsible for what I do."
"I—" I swallowed hard. "I didn't mean it."
"I know," he said, pulling back to look at me. His expression softened slightly, though the possessiveness remained. "But I need you to understand something."
"What?"
His hand came up to cup my cheek, his thumb stroking my skin gently. "You're everything to me. The thought of losing you to someone else... it drives me insane."
My breath caught at the raw vulnerability in his voice.
"So please," he whispered, "don't test me like that."
I nodded slowly. "I'm sorry. I won't."
He studied my face for a long moment, then pressed a soft kiss to my forehead, so different from the fierce one moments ago. "Good," he murmured.
