Chapter 175: Destroy the Cloud Knights
At 9 years old, you were assigned to a combat slave squad and partnered with Saran. Whenever the horn sounded, you had to rush to the front lines, using your bodies as cannon fodder for the Borisin. Saran charged into battle with a reckless, life-or-death ferocity, while you, with your powerful self-healing ability, repeatedly brought her back from the brink of death. Swords piercing your chest and arrows penetrating your body—fatal wounds for ordinary people—healed rapidly on you. But you always carefully concealed the ability of your Mystic Eyes; it was your last trump card. Within a year, you survived countless bloody battles.
At 10 years old, due to your outstanding performance, the Borisin leader you served was promoted. Rarely, he didn't treat you too badly, giving you some extra food and medicine. Every time you returned to the cell, you would share these precious supplies with the three girls. At night, when Saran returned covered in wounds, Jiang Li would use rough cloth strips to treat her injuries. "Sister Saran, if it hurts, just say so," she'd say softly. Two years of life in the mining area had not extinguished the light in her eyes; instead, it made her more resilient.
At 11 years old, the promoted leader became even more greedy. "Kid, I have a big deal," he said with an evil smile. "Take down a Cloud Knights outpost. If you succeed, I'll transfer your sister out of the mining area." You knew it was a trap, but you had no choice.
The battle was exceptionally brutal. Borisin combat slaves fell one after another. Finally, only you and Saran remained standing, surrounded by dense Cloud Knights soldiers. "It's over..." you gasped for breath.
"I'm sorry, I dragged you down..." Saran's voice trembled.
"What nonsense are you saying?" you gave a bitter smile. "Aren't we partners?"
Just at this desperate moment—Saran suddenly let out an inhuman roar! You watched in shock as her body trembled violently, silver fur growing wildly, nails turning into sharp claws, and green eyes engulfed by blood-red! Moon Madness!
"Kill! Kill all of you!" Saran charged at the Cloud Knights like a mad demon. Her claws easily tore through armor, and her fangs bit through long spears! But the Cloud Knights quickly adjusted, and countless blades struck towards her—
"Saran!" You rushed forward without thinking, using your body to block most of the attacks. Swords pierced your body, and blood splattered, but the wounds quickly healed.
"I'll be your shield!" you roared. "Go!"
With your cover, Saran completely transformed into a killing machine. This bloody battle lasted for two hours. When the last Cloud Knight fell, you were covered in wounds, with a dozen arrows and spears stuck in your body. Saran's Moon Madness had not yet ended. Her crimson eyes turned to you, and her sharp claws were raised high—
You didn't dodge. The sharp claws pierced your abdomen. "Saran..." You endured the severe pain, grabbing her arm. "Wake up..."
The blood-red faded, and reason returned. Saran looked at you in horror, then fainted in your arms.
You pulled out the arrows from your body, carried the unconscious Saran on your back, and walked back. When the Borisin leader saw you, his eyes nearly popped out. "You... you actually came back alive?! And the outpost?"
"Taken down."
Amidst his ecstasy, the leader kept his promise. Jiang Li was transferred out of the mining area, and Neergul was also transferred as a bonus.
[Annihilated the Cloud Knights outpost, Villain Value +500!]
At 12 years old, your performance made you and Saran living "legends." This also attracted jealousy from other Foxian slaves. "Traitors! Serving the Borisin as dogs!" they cursed. Every time, you and Saran would teach those hateful guys a lesson. Due to repeated brawls, you were often locked in solitary confinement. In the darkness, the two of you sat back-to-back.
"Do you have any wishes?" she suddenly asked.
"Wishes?"
"Mm. My wish is simple... freedom, and to kill all Borisin."
"My wish..." you thought for a moment. "Probably to protect important people. Jiang Li... and you and Neergul."
"How... boring a wish."
"The feeling's mutual." The two of you smiled at each other.
