Feng's high-speed luxurious car screeched to a stop in front of Lu Nian's parents' house. The midnight streets were silent, but Feng was anything but calm. He rang the doorbell again and again until footsteps approached.
Lu Nian's father opened the door, startled to see a tall man standing there with an anxious face. His wife joined him, equally confused.
Feng bowed slightly, his voice low but urgent. "Where is Lu Nian?"
His parents exchanged shocked glances. Lu Nian's mother hesitated before answering. "He's… sleeping in his room upstairs."
