Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: So-Called Fate

[Morgan has brought you for an audience with King Uther.]

[You are very curious about this legendary Red Dragon, the legendary figure who foresaw the future of Britain with the great magus Merlin and made the 'Son of the Red Dragon' plan.]

[Of course, curiosity is curiosity, you do not have any good feelings for him.]

[After all, whether it was Morgan's blackening or Artoria's tragic end, he was the instigator.]

Stepping into the luxurious great hall, Souya's gaze swept past the knights standing on both sides below and fell on King Uther, who was sitting on the throne, his temples graying, but still exuding an unangered majesty.

"Father." Morgan bowed to him.

"There is no need for ceremony, my daughter."

King Uther waved his hand and dismissed all the knights in the hall. Soon, the huge throne room was left with only him and Morgan, and Souya, who was hiding on Morgan's finger.

He was silent, just listening to the conversation between this father and daughter.

"How have you been recently, Morgan?"

"Everything is as usual, Father."

"Is that so? Then that is very good."

He couldn't help but want to complain. No, I can understand you two, father and daughter, chatting about daily life, but why is the content of your chat so much like a chatbot?

What kind of ancient AI is this!

No one noticed his inner complaint. After this exchange, the great hall fell into a strange silence. Finally, Morgan couldn't help it and said with a stammer, "Father, I heard that the recent battle with the vile king seems to have been a bit unfavorable."

"Your hearing is correct."

Mentioning his own brother, Uther's expression clearly became a little more solemn. "I originally thought he was just unwilling to be suppressed by me, but I didn't expect his ambition to be far more than that. What I didn't expect was that he even got the blessing of the afterglow of the Age of Gods, and even his army was the same. I underestimated him."

At this, Uther couldn't help but sigh.

"In that case, then why don't you let me go to the front line, Father?" Morgan answered with some eagerness. Clearly, she urgently needed a chance to prove herself to him. "As long as I can go to the front line, I can easily deal with the vile king's soldiers, and even the vile king himself..."

"Enough! Morgan!"

To everyone's surprise, before she could finish, King Uther interrupted her with uncontrollable anger. This majestic Celtic king's eyes were wide with anger, and besides anger, there was also an undisguised disappointment.

"When will you ever understand what it means to be a king, what it means to be a lord! Do you still not understand the principle that a king must not personally lead the troops into battle?"

King Uther rose in anger. He stood high above, his cold gaze fixed on the helpless Morgan below the throne. "If every battle requires you, as the king, to lead the troops in person, then what is the use of the knights and soldiers under you? If you win, it's fine, but if you are defeated, what about your kingly authority, your people's hearts?"

He walked down the steps one by one, his stern gaze never leaving her figure.

Morgan bit her lower lip and finally followed her heart and said, "I will not lose to him, Father!"

Uther ignored her stubborn gaze and expression and said coldly, "You? Even if your strength is greater, and your mastery of magic is higher, you can never defeat Vortigern."

At this, he hesitated for a moment, and finally softened his tone. "The trajectory of fate has already been set. You and I are just puppets of that fate. Let it go early, my daughter Morgan. You have no possibility of ascending to the throne, nor do you have the shoulders to bear this responsibility. Everything is fate. Withdraw, Morgan."

He could feel that all the muscles in her body were tense. She didn't even notice that her nails had dug deep into her palms. She took a few deep breaths and finally bowed and then withdrew from the great hall.

After returning to her bedroom, the moment she closed the door, she grabbed a vase on the side and smashed it hard against the wall.

"Bang!"

The exquisitely shaped vase shattered into countless pieces, but she didn't care at all. She continued to smash things against the wall, muttering to herself, "Why! Why! Why on earth!"

Her eyes were bloodshot, her face distorted, no longer possessing the nobility and elegance of the past.

"Why do I not have the qualification to be a king, why do I not have the possibility of ascending to the throne! Why on earth is this!"

After smashing the last item, this angry princess, as if exhausted, fell to the ground and slowly sat down along the door.

[You watched all of this happen in silence.]

[Morgan did not deliberately block your perception, so you saw everything that had happened before, as well as her current state.]

[And because of the characteristics of a water fairy, you could even better experience the complex emotions in the princess's heart.]

[Just then, as if she had remembered something, she waved her hand and summoned you out.]

"You heard everything just now, right." Morgan looked at the puddle of water before her, her tone revealing no joy or sorrow.

"Yes, Lady Morgan," Souya replied truthfully.

"Then tell me, is fate really unchangeable, destined to be so."

He was thinking, reminiscing. He knew that she didn't really care about his answer. She just needed a voice to tell her that she still had a chance, still had hope. But he didn't want to deceive, to perfunctorily deal with her, even though he knew very well how to say things to make her satisfied.

Then is fate really irreversible? Almost instantly, he made a negative judgment. Of course, fate could be changed. If fate were so terrible that no method could change it, then many things would lose their meaning. For example, if the Human Order was destined to be incinerated, then no matter how hard Chaldea tried, it could not be saved. For example, if the bleaching of the Earth was irreversible, then Gudako and Mash would never be able to break through the blockade of the Alien God and the Lostbelts. Even he would not have appeared in this Age of Gods in Britain.

From the very beginning, this damn thing called fate would not be a chaste and virtuous woman. It was just a nasty porcelain brat. As long as one applied tenacity and violence, it would definitely submit obediently.

The answer was obvious.

"Lady Morgan, I believe that the meaning of fate itself is to be broken, to be changed."

Hearing his words, she was clearly stunned for a moment. She thought for a little, and the anger and depression in her heart dissipated a little. Then she motioned for him to continue.

"No one can glimpse the true face of fate. In that case, how can you lightly believe in the fate that others tell you?"

Seeing that it was effective, he continued to strike while the iron was hot. "Besides, you are a British princess, a rare great magus in the world. You, who already possess a glimpse of the corner of fate, how can you be influenced by the groundless fate that others speak of, my great Lady Morgan."

Morgan seemed to be touched by his words. Her expression moved slightly, and the negative emotions in her deep blue, beautiful eyes began to dissipate. The cold and noble princess was returning.

Seeing this, he couldn't help but let out a long sigh of relief.

Praise God, my three-inch tongue is really amazing.

But to be fair, as one of the great fans of Morgan, he knew that the Morgan of the Type-Moon universe was a fusion of the factor of the three goddesses of fate in Celtic mythology. This could be seen from the fact that she had previously glimpsed the bond between him and Ahoge. And the reason why she lost control of her emotions because of King Uther's words about fate was probably because of the fortune-teller's own helplessness and conviction in her own fate.

Thinking of this, he decided to add another fire. "Lady Morgan, no matter what, I will always believe in your greatness and your charm. You will also become the king who will lead Britain to glory. When you become king, I will be the first to play a song of praise."

As if hearing something incredible, Morgan's pupils earthquake, her gaze instantly focusing on him.

"Do you know what you are saying, fairy," she said softly, her seductive, blue-lipstick-painted lips moving slightly, which made his heart a little hot.

I want to eat the rouge on Sister Morgan's lips...

"I am very sure of what I am saying, and I will never regret it, Lady Morgan."

A faint light flowed in her eyes. She raised her jade hand and slowly extended that beautiful, work-of-art-like existence into the puddle of water. A cold yet gentle feeling was fed back from her fingertips, which for some reason gave her a strange feeling.

"What a glib tongue you have, you little fairy."
