Chapter 16 - The Clash of Strengths

When they all woke up they went to school and entered the class

The teacher came and announced

"Students, there will be a sports exam between classes. You will all compete with other classes. And today, a girl is shifting from another class to this class. Please welcome Ms. Waguri."

Ayaan got shocked seeing her, and Waguri looked very happy

The teacher said

"You can sit in front of Ayaan."

She smiled more and quickly sat near him, already talking with him

Ayaan was nervous, and every girl in the class was jealous because Waguri was talking with him

His friends whispered

"Bro, who is she?"

Ayaan replied nervously

"She is the girl I saved that night."

They all introduced themselves to Waguri, and she asked in a cheerful voice

"You all want to be my friends?"

They said together

"Yes!"

Later, they all went to the ground

Some bullies were secretly staring at Waguri from a distance, but Ayaan noticed and ignored them

She asked

"In which sports you all are going to take part?"

Ayaan replied

"I will take part in football, basketball, race, and taekwondo."

Affan said

"I will take in football… and football again."

Everyone laughed a little, and Affan scratched his head

"Yeah, what? I love football."

Aditya said

"I'll join football and cricket."

Anshuman said

"I'll take part in the race with Ayaan… and also football."

Waguri clapped her hands happily

"Oh, so you all are in one team for football!"

They all nodded and said together

"Yes!"

She smiled and said

"Then let's go to the cafeteria."

They took their food and sat down when some guys from another class started bullying a fat boy

Waguri suddenly stood up and said firmly

"Stop it! Leave him alone!"

The bullies laughed

One of them raised his hand to hit her, but before Ayaan could reach, Vasco suddenly appeared and grabbed the bully's wrist

The bully shouted

"Vasco! Why are you interfering?"

Vasco glared and said

"Because you're about to hit a girl. I don't allow trash like you to touch the weak."

Ayaan stopped in his tracks, surprised, watching Vasco

The bully clicked his tongue

"Fine. I'm forgiving you this time."

He left with his group

Waguri looked at Vasco

"Thank you."

Vasco just said coldly

"Never mind."

Then he left

Ayaan walked to Waguri

"Are you okay?"

She nodded with a small smile

"Yes… I'm fine."

They both helped the bullied guy, and soon after they all sat again and ate their food together

They all were going through the park.

"You all can go," Ayaan said. "I'll walk her to the station."

"We'll come with you," Affan said.

"Same," Anshuman and Aditya agreed.

They walked together. Ahead of them, a guy appeared with three others. He stepped forward and sneered, "You all go from here. I want that girl."

Ayaan and his friends laughed. "Really?" Affan said, grinning. "You can't even touch her. We're here."

The guy's smile twisted. "So let's see."

"Ayaan, go back," Waguri said softly.

"No," Ayaan replied. "Waguri, go back. It's safer."

"Okay," she said, stepping back a little but watching closely.

"Let's charge, guys!" Ayaan shouted.

Ayaan smashed into two of them, sending them sprawling.

Affan dodged and juked around a punch, then kicked a bag away.

Anshuman made blasting punches that pushed one of the guys off balance.

Aditya ran up and knocked one down cleanly.

After five minutes of the scuffle, the three attackers were badly hurt and panting on the grass.

"You'll face the consequences for beating us," one snarled weakly.

"Just go from here," Ayaan said, breathing hard.

The attackers spat and limped away.

"Come on, Waguri," Ayaan said.

"Okay," she replied.

They walked her to the station.

When Waguri boarded the train, she waved shyly. "Thanks, everyone."

"Take care," Affan called.

They turned and went home together.

Next day came, they all woke up.

"It's Sunday!" Affan said, stretching.

They all met in a park, sitting under a tree.

"So… what do we do now?" Anshuman asked. "And what challenges will come ahead?"

Before anyone could answer, a group of girls passed by. They stopped and came toward the four.

"Hey, you four," one girl said, smiling slyly. "Want to join us? We're going to the pub."

"We don't drink," Ayaan replied.

"You're missing a chance with us," another girl said, flipping her hair.

"Go from here," Aditya said bluntly.

"You're underestimating us," the first girl snapped. "My boyfriend will kill you!"

"Go. From. Here," Affan said firmly.

The girls left angrily, glaring back.

"What was their problem?" Ayaan muttered.

"Forget it," Anshuman said. "Let's ignore and go somewhere else."

"But how?" Ayaan asked.

"I have an Activa," Aditya said.

"I also have one," Affan added proudly.

"Perfect," Anshuman grinned. "Let's go to some restaurant."

"OK," Ayaan said. "But first—bowling!"

"Let's go!" they all shouted together.

They all sat on the Activas, Ayaan riding with Anshuman at the back, and Affan riding the second with Aditya behind.

"Let's go bowling!" Aditya shouted.

They reached the bowling alley and played for two hours. Ayaan and Anshuman won with ease.

"Ha! Told you we'd win," Anshuman teased.

"Beginner's luck," Affan muttered.

Laughing, they went to a restaurant. But as soon as they entered, they froze. Vasco was already sitting inside.

"Awkward…" Aditya whispered.

They looked around for seats, but the place was full. Vasco glanced at them and said, "You can sit with me."

"Uh… thanks," Ayaan said. They sat down together.

They ordered food, and Vasco leaned back. "I thought you guys were weak. But you're pretty strong… not enough, though."

"No worries," Affan said, grinning. "We'll catch up."

Aditya smirked. "Actually, Vasco… you're a good guy. Want to be our friend?"

Vasco blinked, a little awkward. "…Okay."

"Then let's eat together," Ayaan said with a smile.

They all laughed, and the food arrived.

When they all got out of the restaurant, they saw the same girls from the park standing outside.

Vasco raised an eyebrow. "Who are they?"

Ayaan sighed. "They were arguing with us earlier. Looks like they brought their boyfriends now."

From behind the girls, seven muscular boys appeared, cracking their knuckles. One of them smirked. "Weaklings like you don't stand a chance in front of us."

Ayaan stepped forward calmly. "We don't want to fight."

But in a blink, one of the boys threw a blasting punch—Vasco caught it mid-air with one hand. Everyone's mouth dropped open.

The boy stumbled back in shock. All seven of them were wearing dark glasses, hiding their eyes.

Vasco's voice turned serious. "You all… take off your glasses."

They slowly removed them, revealing sharp, glowing eyes.

Vasco clenched his fists and looked at Ayaan and the others. "I'm with you four. Don't worry."

Ayaan cracked his neck, a smirk forming. "Alright then… let's see what they've got."

Vasco smashed two of them in seconds, fists moving like thunder.

Ayaan spun and landed a sharp spinning kick, sending one flying.

Anshuman charged forward, throwing a barrage of punches until his opponent collapsed.

Affan grabbed two of them by the head and clashed their skulls together—both dropped instantly.

Aditya finished with a brutal front kick, knocking the last one flat.

All seven were beaten and trembling on the ground. They scrambled to their feet and shouted, "You five don't know our leader!"

Vasco cracked his knuckles. "Go from here… or your leader will also get beaten."

The boys panicked and ran. Vasco looked at the others. "Let's get home."

They nodded. "Bye, Vasco."

"Bye," Vasco replied, walking off. The four friends also said goodbye to each other and went home.

When Ayaan entered the store, he walked up to his mom. "Today I'll manage the counter."

She smiled. "Okay."

Ayaan welcomed customers, made bills, and kept busy. Then the door opened.

He looked up—Waguri was standing there.

Ayaan's chest tightened. He always felt nervous around girls, and Waguri seemed just as nervous. She walked forward softly. "Hello, Ayaan."

"Hello, Waguri… how are you?" he asked.

"I-I… I am fine," she stuttered, cheeks red.

She fiddled with her hands. "Thanks for yesterday."

Ayaan shook his head. "No worries."

He quickly changed the topic. "What would you like to eat?"

"I-I want… pastry."

"Okay." He gave her a pastry, and she went to sit on a chair.

Ayaan's mom came over, smiling knowingly. "Ayaan, take this pastry and eat with Waguri."

Ayaan froze, turning completely red. Waguri too went tomato-red.

Nervously, he walked over and sat beside her.

She glanced at him shyly. "Why are you red?"

He stammered. "Y-you are also red."

She giggled. "W-what? I usually get red."

"Oh…" Ayaan muttered, scratching his head.

After finishing, Waguri stood. "Bye."

"Bye," Ayaan said quickly.

Just as she was leaving, she turned. "Take my number."

His eyes widened. "Your… number?"

"Y-yeah," she said softly. "In case of emergency, I can call you."

"O-okay." He saved it nervously.

She smiled faintly and left.

Ayaan went up to his room, his heart racing, and soon after, fell asleep.

Next day Ayaan woke up and messaged his friends, "Come in black, we will rock in class."

When they reached the class, every girl was in love with them—especially Ayaan. They sat on their seats, but Waguri had not come yet. Her seat was empty.

A girl came and sat on Waguri's seat. They all said, "This is Waguri's seat, can you move from there?"

Just then, the door opened and Waguri entered. Every boy whispered that she was the cutest in the whole class. Every girl was jealous of her, and also because she always talked with the four.

She sat and said, "Hi guys."

They replied, "Hi, Waguri."

Then the teacher came and announced, "Sports competitions are cancelled."

The whole class became sad.

"But instead of sports competitions," the teacher continued, "there will be a vacation. All the students will be going to an island."

Everyone was excited.

Ayaan turned to Waguri. "Are you coming?"

"Yes," she smiled. "And you all?"

"Yeah, of course," they said.

The teacher left, and all the students started talking happily. Some girls were already imagining how those four would look on the island—especially Ayaan.

They all went home. Ayaan told his parents, "I'm going tomorrow on a trip to an island."

They said, "Okay, take care."

The next day came. All the students were standing on the ground.

The principal came and said, "You will go on a cruise ship. After reaching the island, you will have a survival exam. You can make teams of five people on the cruise ship. Now let's go."

First, they sat on buses, and when they reached, they went onto the cruise ship.

The ship had everything, and everyone was enjoying.

So many girls came to Ayaan and his friends. "Make teams with us!"

But they all shook their heads and said, "We have Waguri in our team."

Waguri turned full red instantly, while all the other girls were burning with jealousy.

Next day came, Ayaan and Anshuman woke up and met each other. Suddenly, a letter dropped in front of them.

Ayaan picked it up and read aloud, "Affan and Aditya's game has crashed… now you both have to play this game."

Anshuman frowned, "Wait… what? Crashed? How can a game just crash like that?"

Ayaan clenched the letter tighter, "I don't know… but it means it's just you and me now."

Anshuman smirked, "Heh, guess the real challenge starts from here."

Ayaan nodded, "Yeah. No backing down."

Then Anshuman said, "Now we need two more people in our team instead of Aditya and Affan."

Ayaan nodded, "Let's take Sam and Vasco—they're perfect for our team."

Ayaan approached Sam, who barely spoke, and Sam simply gave a thumbs-up.

Next, Ayaan went to Vasco. Vasco said, "Okay."

Ayaan smiled, "Our team is complete—me, Anshuman, Vasco, Sam, and Waguri."

They all went to the pool. Ayaan took off his clothes and wore shorts. All the girls were wearing short, attention-grabbing outfits, but Ayaan didn't care.

Waguri thought, What should I wear to look good in front of Ayaan? She chose a yellow short top and matching shorts. Ayaan blushed at the sight of the girls around him. Anshuman also blushed because some girls were near him too.

Sam arrived, wearing only shorts that cost more than $1,000, leaving all the girls shocked at his wealth.

Vasco came next, and his muscles were so pumped that everyone stared in awe.

Ayaan asked, "Vasco, how did you get muscles like that?"

Vasco replied, "When I was 10, bullies beat me so badly I could barely stand. One day, a guy came and beat them all. I asked him how I could be strong like him, and he said: do 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 crunches, and run 10 km every day. I said okay."

Ayaan thought to himself, Vasco is insanely strong, but he acts like a dumb child sometimes.

Vasco continued, "Since that day, I decided to protect weak people from bad people."

Ayaan nodded, "That's a good decision."

Finally, they all reached the island, ready for the next adventure.

When they got on the island, the view was breathtaking—clear blue waters, green forests, and golden sands stretched as far as the eye could see.

The principal's voice cut through the excitement: "Now, you all must make teams of five and explore the whole island. Discover as much as you can and write it in your diary. The team with the most discoveries will go to the amusement park for free!"

Vasco and Waguri immediately lit up like children, bouncing with excitement at the thought of going to the amusement park.

The principal continued, "Now go, but stay alert. I've heard there are some gangsters involved in smuggling on this island."

Everyone froze for a moment. Ayaan thought, How can the principal be so dumb… bringing us to an island with gangsters?

Ignoring the warning, the team ran toward the jungle, ready to explore, discover, and face whatever challenges awaited them.

When Ayaan said, "We should rest here, this is a good place. Let's stay here for tonight. Vasco, you go bring wood for the campfire. Sam, you go bring some fruits. Waguri, stay here with Anshuman, and I'll go get water,"

Waguri nodded, "You all take care," as they went their separate ways.

Waguri turned to Anshuman, "Ayaan is really… impressive, isn't he?"

Anshuman smiled, "He's a master of all trades. He can do everything, but sometimes… he gets scared when it comes to people he cares about. He hardly talks to girls, but he's very protective of others. And you know why he left me with you?"

Waguri tilted her head, "Why?"

Anshuman pointed subtly, "See those guys staring at us? I think… they're about to fight us."

Then five boys appeared, sneering.

One of them said, "Anshuman, friend of Ayaan, with a girl? You've made a big mistake. First I'll kill you, then her, then your friend Ayaan."

Anshuman smirked, "Don't make me laugh."

One of them jumped and slammed his leg toward Anshuman's head. Waguri closed her eyes, but Anshuman caught the leg effortlessly and threw him into a tree.

The second one came, attempting a low kick followed by a punch, but Anshuman, having learned multiple fighting styles from Ayaan, countered perfectly.

"Let's do some Taekwondo," he muttered, slamming two of them at once.

The boss of the group looked scared as Anshuman continued, knocking out four of them. When the boss turned, Anshuman delivered a high kick, sending him flying.

Turning to Waguri, he said, "Don't be scared, I'm here."

She smiled, "Thank you… you're so strong."

Anshuman shook his head, "But not stronger than Ayaan."

Soon, Vasco, Sam, and Ayaan returned.

"Did anything happen here?" Ayaan asked.

Anshuman shrugged, "Nope."

They all ate their food and went to sleep, ready for whatever the island had in store next.
