Chapter 1 - 1-Car Accident

A young man clothed in a worn out suit stood in front of a large corporation, the man in question stared at a piece of paper in joy.

Dominic held his appointment letter with joy, after countless interviews he couldn't believe that he finally got the job. He continued to look at the paper in his hand with joy.

Two weeks ago, he thought he had lost all hope and to think he even had thoughts of committing suicide. At the tender age of five, Dominic understood that his family wasn't as well of as other families.

Even when the sole of his shoes tore open, he wore it to school because his parents couldn't afford new shoes. The day his sister was born was the day his father died.

Just like that, a day of joy turned into a day of tragedy. His grandmother called his sister a jinx but his mother not wanting his sister to have anymore trauma moved with them into another city to start a new life.

The new life wasn't that great since his mother had to feed not just one, but three mouths. Dominic always wanted to go to college but knowing the situation of things, he decided not to further his education after graduating from high school.

He always worked to help his mother and he hoped everything would be fine but that was until his mother had a mishap in the construction site she worked at.

In the end, she became paralyzed from her waist downwards.

After she became paralyzed, he became the bread winner of the family. Immediately he graduated from high school, he started to work odd jobs to pay for his mother hospital bills and his younger sister's school fees.

All was well until he lost a few of his jobs, he began to search for more jobs but they wouldn't employ him because he was just an high-school graduate. He thought all hope had been lost but that was until he saw an opening a week ago.

They didn't care about his educational level all they cared about was his wit and the pay was good. It was the first time he would earn two thousand dollars per month.

"Mom is going to be happy," he said as he stared at the letter of appointment. To him, it still felt like a dream.

"Look out," a voice yelled. Dominic didn't hear the voices of the people calling him until it was too late. By the time he looked up, he saw a large truck heading towards him.

His eyes widened and it felt like his brain had shut down. The truck hit him and tossed him like he was a rag doll. As Dominic head hit the ground, he could feel his life flashing through his eyes.

He could hear various people screaming for help.

"H..He..lp,"

No one approached him instead they all watched as he lay in the pool of his own blood. Dominic tried to fight the wave of drowsiness that hit him but to no avail.

He knew that if he closed his eyes then he would truly die. A wave of pain flashed through his whole body. He couldn't leave his mother in the hospital, his sister was still in high school and she was soon going to write her final exam.

His lips curved into a sad smile. He had promised his sister new shoes, he had promised his mother that he would give them both a new life.

But alas, fate had other plans. Dominic slowly closed his eyes.

Fate was cruel.

Dominic opened his eyes only to find him self in an empty space.

"Didn't I just get hit by a truck?" Dominic asked himself as he stared at his hands in amazement, his hands weren't stained with blood rather it was clean.

He touched his face but his face felt fine.

"This can't be the afterlife can it?" Dominic murmured as he glanced around. He felt like he was trapped in a giant white room with no beginning or end.

"Hello, please have a seat,"

Dominic turned around. His eyes widened in surprise when he saw a woman in her mid thirties furiously typing something on her computer.

She looked like the average person who worked in the Corporate sector. Golden rimmed glasses, prominent eye bags, a grouchy attitude and a face which screamed "I've been overworking myself'.

"How did you get here?" Dominic asked as he stared at the woman warily.

"Mr, I suggest you sit so we can get this thing over with and in case you don't know yet, you are dead,' the woman said as she adjusted her golden rimmed glasses.

"i'm dead?" Dominic repeated. He did know that he would not survive been hit by a truck but it still felt weird when someone said it to his face.

"SIT DOWN!"

Sensing that he was already annoying the woman, Dominic hurriedly sat on the chair which was opposite of her. He couldn't help but glance around one more time.

He had a lot of questions in his mind. Was this the afterlife? What would happen to his mom and his sister now that he was dead? How did she suddenly appear here? Most importantly was he going to hell or heaven?

"What's your name,"

"Dominic smith,"

"Age,"

"22,"

"Gender,"

"Male,"

"Cause of death,"

Dominic paused for a moment ,"Where am I and who are you?"

The woman sighed then she glanced at him, "My name is Rena and I am just an ordinary worker, the computer gets to decide if you go to hell, heaven or get reincarnated, now how did you die?"

"I got hit by a truck but I believe it was a mistake, I'm too young to die and I still have people who depend on me," Dominic said, his eyes shining with hope. He had no idea how his sister and mother would survive without him.

He wanted his sister to attend a reputable university, if he dies then she would not be able to further her education just like him. He didn't want that.

"No one is too young to die Mr. Dominic, thousands of people younger than you have sat in that same seat," the woman replied with an eye roll.

Dominic let out a sigh of frustrated sigh. He wondered why she wasn't fazed by his age now he could see why.

"Well that is certainly a surprise," the woman said as she glanced at him in shock, "you were supposed to die at the age of thirty but due to a mishap you died a little too early,"

Dominic's mouth twitched, he didn't know if he was supposed to be happy because it was a mistake or angry that he was supposed to die at the age of 30.

"So how was I supposed to die originally,"

The woman stared at him with a sly smile, he stared at her warily. He sensed that she wasn't smiling for a good reason..

"You were supposed to die while humping your wife, to be specific, you died on the night of your wedding…you died due to pleasure and shock,"

"What the fuck."
