Chapter 94 - Chapter 94: The Capture and the Biker Gang

Watching him, Natsui reached for his waist and, in the next second, threw several Poké Balls at once.

After the flashes of blue light, Charmeleon, Wartortle, Jolteon, and Ivysaur appeared, joining Kirlia to completely surround the boy.

Looking at Natsui's intimidating Pokémon, then down at his own Farfetch'd, the stunned look on the boy's face could only be described as priceless.

"Didn't you say we were going to battle according to the rules!?"

"I did. These are my rules!" Natsui said matter-of-factly. "I already told you, I'm no saint. My style isn't to stick to conventions. My way of dealing with bad guys has always been for the strong to crush the weak and the many to overwhelm the few!"

"..." The boy was speechless. "You're shameless..."

"Thanks for the compliment." Natsui didn't want to waste any more time with him and waved a hand at his Pokémon. "Get them!"

The Pokémon swarmed forward and easily defeated the Farfetch'd. Finally, Ivysaur used its Vine Whip to tie the boy's wrists, making it impossible for him to escape.

Immediately after, Natsui dialed the police.

At this, the boy completely panicked and begged pitifully, but seeing that Natsui was turning a deaf ear, he threw caution to the wind and started cursing loudly.

Natsui, annoyed by the noise, picked up a rock, stuffed it in his mouth, and sealed it with a piece of tape.

Now, the boy was truly helpless.

Before long, Officer Jenny, riding a motorcycle, made a stylish stop right in front of Natsui with a screech of brakes, kicking up a cloud of exhaust.

"Who called the police?" she asked, looking sharp and heroic.

"Ahem..." Waving away the choking smoke, Natsui said, "I did!"

After he explained the situation, Officer Jenny's eyes widened as she looked at the boy, furious.

"Keita! I can't believe you're back to your old ways. This time, it doesn't matter who pleads for you! You're coming with me to the station!"

"Mmph! Mmph!"

The boy named Keita struggled desperately, but Officer Jenny didn't remove his gag. Instead, she put him in cold handcuffs and shoved him onto her bike.

Watching the motorcycle drive away, Natsui felt nothing at all.

To him, this was just a brief interlude in his life, a small matter he had dealt with on the side. It wasn't worth dwelling on.

However, before Officer Jenny left, Natsui happened to get a useful piece of information from her.

It turned out that a cross-sea bridge was under construction on the outskirts of Fuchsia City, connecting all the way to Sunny Town on the other side!

Taking this route would not only save a lot of time, but Sunny Town was also very close to Celadon City and Saffron City. It was the perfect opportunity to go there first and retrieve the Silph Scope that Sabrina had left for him!

Since it was on the way and he was in no hurry to challenge the Viridian Gym, Natsui decided to change his destination once again and head towards Saffron City.

...

Passing through the bustling Fuchsia City and its towering shopping centers, Natsui finally arrived at the northern coast.

Looking out over the sea, his eyes fell upon a sea-crossing bridge that stretched as far as the eye could see!

This magnificent structure of steel and concrete, supported by hundreds of piers, was said to be about 20 kilometers long. If one were to walk, it would take until nightfall to reach the other side.

Arriving at the bridge's entrance, he saw several barriers blocking the way.

Although the bridge wasn't officially completed, it was only impassable for cars. Pedestrians could still cross freely on bicycles.

As Natsui approached, a security guard poked his head out of the gatehouse.

"Hey there, sir. Are you planning to cross the bridge?"

When Natsui nodded, the guard smiled. "I'm afraid that won't be possible. This bridge is too long to cross on foot. If you really want to cross, you'll need a bicycle."

Natsui had some memory of this rule. He hesitated for a moment, then asked, still hoping, "Eh? Can't you make an exception?"

"I'm truly sorry," the guard said with a wry smile. "It's the rule. There's nothing I can do."

Sighing, Natsui was just thinking about riding his Gyarados across the sea when he saw a group of young men and women—wearing sunglasses, with dyed and permed hair, and dressed like delinquents—speeding toward them on modified bicycles.

As they rode, some held flags and shouted loudly, making a racket like a flock of crows passing overhead!

"Sigh." The security guard beside him sighed helplessly. "I can't stand it. It's that bicycle gang again. They're so loud and annoying every single day."

Even though he vaguely remembered this part of the story, Natsui couldn't help but comment upon seeing them, "Uh... there are bicycle gangs? That's... kind of lame."

"What can you do? They're just kids," the guard said with a shrug. "They don't have the money to buy expensive motorcycles. But if they keep this up, it's only a matter of time before they become a motorcycle gang."

Natsui looked closely and saw that they were indeed not very old, probably around seventeen or eighteen.

"If they're so noisy, doesn't anyone do anything about them?"

"There's not much to be done," the guard shook his head. "They're rowdy, but all they do is gather and ride their bikes back and forth across the bridge. Strictly speaking, they aren't damaging it. Besides, they're all local kids. They might be afraid of the police, but if they were arrested for disturbing the peace, their parents would probably be surrounding the police station the next day!"

"That does sound complicated."

As they were talking, the group had ridden up to them. Looking at their bicycles, Natsui suddenly had an idea.

He took a few steps forward, blocking their path.

Seeing someone dare to block the only way onto the bridge, the group members all stopped and frowned.

"Hey! Who are you? Why are you blocking our way?"

Natsui took out a Poké Ball and smiled. "I need a bicycle to get to the other side. How about it? Want to have a battle? If I win, you lend me one of your bikes."

A young man with a red, explosive hairstyle that looked like fire, who seemed to be the leader, took off his sunglasses.

"Ha!? Someone dares to challenge us!? You've got some nerve! Have you never heard of our great name?"

"My apologies, I must be ill-informed, but I've never heard of you." Natsui's tone was perfectly calibrated to be infuriating. "So, are you going to battle or not?"

"Of course we'll battle!" The young man sized up Natsui, then jerked a thumb behind him toward a simple battle field in the distance. "We're always the ones challenging others, no one has ever dared to challenge us! If you're really not afraid to get hurt, then follow us over there!
