I lay in bed, lazing around and doom-scrolling through social media. I glanced at the time—4:15 p.m. already. Ahh. How fast time flies. Today is Thursday, and I didn't have any plans. I just wanted to rest and relax.

Nothing huge—not a household name or anything—but enough to get by. I earn, I eat, I sleep, I stream. And honestly? I like it that way. As long as I enjoy it, that's what matters.

A while ago, Mama asked me to move back in. Said she was lonely. Which is ironic, considering she's barely ever home. Now, she works more shifts than ever. I didn't ask her to. But if that's what she wants…

Ding!

A notification buzzed from my phone on the bedside table. I groaned. Too far. Too much effort. Or maybe I'm just too lazy. But I didn't get many notifications—so when one popped up, I noticed.

I reached out anyway.

Some small, stubborn part of me hoped it was Maya.
