Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 : Challenging Neji!!

Training Class Assessment was basically about showing off what you had learned at the Ninja Academy as best as possible.

Even throwing a shuriken accurately could count as passing.

Uchiha Yujin, wanting to play it safe, didn't use the substitution or clone techniques he wasn't very good at.

He was planning to go big.

As soon as he made his first hand sign, Iruka Umino, a chunin exam pro, swiftly appeared beside him and interrupted.

Because none of the Three Basic Ninjutsu hand signs started with the snake or goat signs.

Given Uchiha's surname, it could only be one technique.

"Are you going to use that jutsu?" Iruka asked.

"Yeah."

Seeing Uchiha Yujin nod, Iruka's pupils slightly narrowed!

He had taught many students.

Talents like Uchiha Yujin were rare — truly one in a million!

The Great Fireball Technique?

He had learned a C-rank jutsu before even graduating.

Iruka hesitated a moment, then raised the passing placard.

"Uchiha Yujin, you passed!"

"W-what?"

"Teacher! How come?"

"Yeah! He didn't do anything. Why did he pass?"

The students were dumbfounded.

What was going on?

Iruka, who usually spoke little, frowned slightly and said, "I said he passed."

From the crowd, a voice rang out, "He's from a ninja clan. We can't compare."

The tone was harsh.

Uchiha Yujin instantly met that person's gaze.

Yazaki Renji.

A kid from a civilian family.

They entered the academy the same year, sitting in front and behind each other.

Their main conflict was because Uchiha Yujin sat to the left of a girl Yazaki liked, so Yazaki was always bitter and jealous.

Normally, if Uchiha Yujin said something like that, he would have just endured it.

But today, this anger was something he couldn't tolerate.

"Teacher, I think I'll use that jutsu after all."

Iruka looked at his students, hearing all sorts of things being said, and sighed helplessly.

"Wait a moment."

As he spoke, he began forming hand seals with both hands.

"Water Release: Sticky Water Trap!"

A sticky liquid sprayed out from Iruka's mouth onto the ground, quickly forming a large water puddle.

The students didn't understand why the teacher was doing this.

Then Iruka shouted, "Use your jutsu targeting the water!"

"Got it!"

Uchiha Yujin stood in front of the water puddle, chakra surging within him.

He took a deep breath and began forming hand seals rapidly, his movements smooth and precise.

His hands left blurry afterimages as they moved, sealing signs faster than the students could follow.

Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger

Each seal completed was accompanied by the flow of chakra inside him.

Finally, he brought his hands together in a prayer seal, concentrating chakra at his throat.

His mouth parted slightly, and a scorching stream of chakra erupted from deep within his throat, gradually forming into a fireball.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!" Uchiha Yujin shouted as he thrust the fireball forward.

The fireball cut through the air, leaving a bright trail of flames as it headed straight for the water puddle.

When the fireball struck the water's surface, it exploded with a deafening boom, sending sparks flying everywhere.

The water in the puddle instantly vaporized, creating a massive cloud of steam.

The heat from the flames washed over the surrounding students, forcing them to take a few steps back instinctively to avoid getting burned.

The entire room was stunned, including Renji Yazaki. All the students stared at Uchiha Yujin in disbelief.

What was going on?

They were still using the Three Basic Ninjutsu! And suddenly, he unleashed a C-rank ninjutsu — the Great Fireball Jutsu?

Were they even in the same class? Who could have imagined that this usually low-key Uchiha Yujin could perform such a powerful ninjutsu?

"Ahhh! Uchiha Yujin's Great Fireball Jutsu is amazing!" a girl exclaimed.

"He's so awesome!" another girl said excitedly.

"Why didn't I notice he was this cool before?" a third girl chimed in.

"Let's work hard too! Maybe we can get into the same class as him!"

The girls who had just been fawning over Ryo Koizumi moments ago instantly became fans of Uchiha Yujin.

Ryo Koizumi could only sigh quietly. In this world, the strong always rule.

Arai Yahachi stood nearby, disbelief written all over his face. He never expected that Uchiha Yujin, whom he had always thought was as ordinary as himself, actually had such incredible strength.

Renji Yazaki's face turned pale. His earlier mockery now seemed utterly ridiculous.

He opened his mouth but didn't know what to say.

Iruka Umino looked at Uchiha Yujin, a hint of admiration flashing in his eyes.

He knew this boy was not only the pride of the Uchiha clan but also the future hope of the Hidden Leaf Village.

"Uchiha Yujin, your performance is outstanding," Iruka Umino said with a touch of excitement. "Your Great Fireball Jutsu far surpasses others your age. You have passed!"

Uchiha Yujin bowed slightly in thanks.

Under the godlike gazes of his classmates, Uchiha Yujin walked to the passing area.

At the sidelines, a student from the basic class, wrapped in bandages, muttered with a mix of envy and anger, "Why does my Byakugan not have effects like this, even though it's also a kekkei genkai?"

Uchiha Yujin felt a special gaze on him and turned his head.

"Hm?"

This appearance was hard to mistake.

Even though the guy across hadn't grown taller yet, those eyes showing only the whites clearly identified who he was.

Hyuga Neji.

The genius of the Hyuga clan.

At the same time, in Uchiha Yujin's mind, the voice of Pirate Yujin echoed: "Is there any way to learn the Hyuga clan's taijutsu from him?"

Uchiha Yujin replied helplessly, "Even if I could learn it, I might not understand it well. Neji can use it because he's a genius. Hinata only truly mastered the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms near the end. And that was only against White Zetsu. You get what I mean?"

Pirate Yujin clicked his tongue, "That's a shame. I was hoping you could trade your Great Fireball Technique for his taijutsu!"

"But… if I talk to him privately about taijutsu, that might work! If I fight him and use my Sharingan, it should be an even match. I'll go ask."

Amid the gossip and whispers of their classmates, Uchiha Yujin, who had already passed the test, headed straight toward Hyuga Neji.

Neji frowned. He hadn't expected his imagined rival to approach him.

He didn't sit back helplessly. Crossing his arms in front of his chest, he prepared the starting stance of the Hyuga clan's Gentle Fist technique.

"Hello, I'm Uchiha Yujin. I saw your eyes."

"What do you want?!" Neji was on full alert.

"I want to spar with you in taijutsu, whenever you have time."

Neji's genius pride made him dismiss the word "spar."

He simply thought that Uchiha Yujin, who was a grade above him, was provoking him.

"Hmph, Uchiha! That jutsu you just used wasn't very strong in front of my eyes!"

"Don't worry. When we spar, I won't use the Great Fireball Technique. We'll just exchange taijutsu."

At that moment, Iruka suddenly appeared from somewhere and made an 'X' gesture toward Uchiha Yujin.

"Please return to your own class."

"Fine." Uchiha Yujin nodded calmly, then glanced at Neji, who was about to become his practical training partner.

"I'll come find you."

Iruka sighed with a dark line on his forehead. "Come on, Neji. Let's just ignore him."
