Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 : Ninja Assessment!!

Uchiha Clan's Treasure Vault.

Uchiha Yujin nodded his thanks to the guard and took the scroll handed to him.

After awakening the Sharingan, there were a few exclusive jutsu that came with it.

Even with just a single tomoe, there was one unique jutsu available.

Sharingan Windmill Triple Attack.

It was a C-rank jutsu.

When used, kunai and shuriken were thrown first as a feint.

The real attack was hidden within the returning trajectory of the weapons—like a boomerang.

This technique was mostly exclusive to the Uchiha clan and relied on the Sharingan's ability to predict the enemy's movements.

With the scroll in hand, Uchiha Yujin didn't have time to study it.

He had to hurry to the Ninja Academy to take his exam.

"Now we're really starting to feel like ninjas!" Marvel Yujin exclaimed with excitement.

Uchiha Yujin poured cold water on his enthusiasm. "The Sharingan Windmill Triple Attack requires three special weapons. Let's not even talk about whether you have the money to buy them. Do you even have a storage scroll?"

Marvel Yujin scratched his head. "Uh… no…"

Pirate Yujin didn't forget to throw in another jab. "I can't even use the Great Fireball Jutsu yet. You? Good luck…"

Marvel Yujin nodded weakly. "I've noticed that too… It seems the powers you two synchronized into me are heavily weakened…"

Pirate Yujin tried to comfort him. "That's because of the differences in visual storytelling. Even a genin in Naruto can fight like a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent on steroids."

"Of course, the Marvel world isn't lacking in crazy plots where Earthlings go toe-to-toe with aliens. Look at the bright side. At the very least, you can probably beat Black Widow now, right?"

"Black Widow, huh…" Marvel Yujin thought for a moment. "If it's one-on-one, with the Gene Lock and the Sharingan, I might be able to go a few rounds… Speaking of which, the Gene Lock gives me way more of a boost than your abilities. Is that because Terror Infinity is more aligned with Marvel? Should I also experience a near-death event to evolve my Gene Lock further?"

Panting from the run, Uchiha Yujin stopped in front of the Ninja Academy. "That's for you to figure out. I have an exam to take."

"Good luck!"

"Go crush it!"

Ever since the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, founded the Ninja Academy, the system had undergone continuous reforms.

And over time, it had grown more mature and standardized.

The usual progression for a ninja was: Enrollment → Basics→ Practice→ Application → Graduation → Genin → Chūnin → Special Jōnin → Jōnin.

Ordinary students had to go through five years of study, passing each stage to graduate, become a ninja, and finally earn their forehead protector.

Of course, there were also geniuses who passed all the tests in a very short time.

For example, Itachi took one year.

Kakashi entered the academy at four years old, graduated at five, and became a Chunin at six.

To anyone hearing this, it sounded unbelievable.

Back to the ninja academy tests.

Right now, Uchiha Yujin is facing the exam for the "Practice Class," which used to be called the "Application Class."

If he moves fast enough and everything goes smoothly, Uchiha Yujin might pass the final ninja academy test early next year.

That would earn him his own forehead protector and make him a true Konoha ninja.

Of course, this is only possible after unlocking his Gene Lock. Otherwise, with his original body, he wouldn't be able to get a forehead protector.

That's because he wouldn't pass the Three-Basic Ninjutsu test, one of the ultimate exams.

He studied hard and managed to learn only the Clone Technique and the Substitution Technique.

No matter how he formed the hand seals, he just couldn't master the Transformation Technique.

If you call it "transformation," it's not like it at all.

When Uchiha Yujin arrived at the classroom, his classmates had already begun showing off their skills.

"Ahhh! Koizumi Ryo's Transformation Technique is amazing, almost indistinguishable from the real thing!"

"He's incredible! Feels like he'll graduate next year for sure!"

"Ah! I don't want to be separated from Koizumi Ryo! I really don't want to part ways!"

"Then let's work hard too! Let's try to get into the same class as him!"

A few girls were loudly plotting, but a discordant voice interrupted.

"Tch! It's just the Transformation Technique. I can do it too!"

"Arai Yahachi! Shut up! Everyone knows you're the absolute bottom of the class!"

"I'm not!" Arai Yahachi glared and retorted, "I'll show you right now!"

"Transformation Technique!"

Bang!

A puff of white smoke cleared, and under the expectant gazes of everyone, Arai Yahachi was wearing the Jonin uniform.

But his face didn't change at all — he still looked like a mess.

"Hahaha! As expected from the bottom of the class. After all this time studying, still no progress!"

"Tch! I'm just a civilian. Even Uchiha Yujin can't properly use the Transformation Technique, so it's only natural that I can't!" Arai Yahachi said stubbornly, hands on his hips.

Uchiha Yujin walked back to the line and happened to overhear this.

He gave Arai Yahachi a sly smile, skillfully slipped behind him in the queue, and muttered, "That's true."

Then he stayed silent.

Arai Yahachi puffed out his chest and pouted at the girls nearby. "See? I told you! Even those big clans can't do it. It's normal that I can't either!"

"Tch, you're the one who's abnormal! You enrolled earlier than us. This is your second year of assessment, right?"

"Hmph! When it's my turn, I'll definitely pass!"

The students moved forward one by one.

When it was Arai Yahachi's turn, he arrogantly stepped up and gave a long self-introduction, boasting about being a super invincible ninja heartthrob.

Then he tried to transform — and scored a zero.

But that wasn't the end.

He wasn't willing to accept it and tried again.

In the end, the Chunin instructor, Iruka Umino, waved his hand and kicked him out of the exam area.

"That guy is such a disgrace!"

The classmates were whispering and discussing among themselves, while Uchiha Yujin gave a helpless smile.

Actually, this passerby named Arai Masahachi wasn't so bad.

Naruto's assessment had lasted a full three years—that was the real bottom of the class.

"Next."

It was Uchiha Yujin's turn to take the stage, and all eyes in the class focused on him.

Because of the influence of his previous life, even before regaining his memories, Uchiha Yujin already seemed out of place among those around him.

While everyone else praised the Will of Fire, this guy liked to argue against it, emphasizing that the Will of Fire must first serve the people, only then could ninja willingly devote themselves to the village.

Fortunately, he was still young and naive.

If any Chunin shared his way of thinking, they would have been caught by Ibiki long ago for brain research.

"That weirdo is up next~"

"He probably won't pass, right?"

"A rare ordinary person from the Uchiha clan!"

"Look at his ragged clothes, doesn't look like he's from a big clan!"

"You don't understand, he doesn't have parents to take care of him!"

"Oh, that's why! No wonder!"

The classmates' voices flooded into Uchiha Yujin's ears, but he gave the bunch of kids a calm smile, then asked Iruka Umino.

"Examiner, I just need to do my best to show what I've learned, right?"

Iruka Umino spat out the dogtail grass from his mouth and replied, "Mm."

Uchiha Yujin smiled and nodded, then began to move his hands.

Iruka Umino raised an eyebrow, thinking, 'This opening move... is not good!'

In a flash, he appeared beside Uchiha Yujin.

At this moment, in the chat space, the Pirate Yujin joked, "Just thinking about making these kids watch the Great Fireball later makes me want to laugh!"
