Chapter 64 - Chapter 63: Blood Resonance

 

The change started while Seraphina was sleeping.

Damon felt it first—a shift in the mate bond that made his skin prickle and his wolf instincts snap to attention. The sensation was like lightning under his ribs, electric and demanding. He sat up in their Geneva hotel bed, careful not to wake his pregnant wife.

But she was already stirring.

"Something's different," she murmured, one hand pressed to her rounded belly. "I can feel... more of you."

Damon frowned. The mate bond had always been strong between them, but this felt expanded. Deeper. As if someone had removed barriers he hadn't even known existed.

"How much more?"

Seraphina's eyes fluttered open, silver catching the moonlight streaming through the curtains. "Everything. Your heartbeat, your thoughts about whether to order room service, the way your left shoulder aches from sleeping in this terrible chair last night."

That was impossible. The mate bond allowed emotional sharing, not complete sensory overlap.
