Chapter 72 - Chapter 71 – The Dreams That Weren’t Dreams

Sigh…

A heavy sigh escaped Amethyst's lips, drawing Mikaela's attention.

"Uhm, Amethyst, what are you sighing for? Did you lose something important… or maybe forget something?" Mikaela tilted her head curiously.

Amethyst shook his head. "No… it's complicated, Mikaela. It's about a dream of mine… but it doesn't feel like just a dream. It feels too real. I mean it. My normal dreams are blurry, but this one… it had colors." He exhaled again, troubled.

Mikaela's eyes widened slightly. "Oh? That is strange. When I dream, it's always in black and white, and I forget everything seconds later. But if your dream had colors… maybe it wasn't really a dream at all." She paused, her expression turning thoughtful. "I once had a similar dream, actually. It was about four years ago… I saw a woman with big black wings and sky-blue eyes, standing in a beautiful green forest. Beside her was a strange man with blond hair—I can't recall his eye color—and a little girl in a red coat. I couldn't see the girl clearly, but I still remember it vividly."

Amethyst's eyes widened. "WHAT? Mikaela, I had a very similar dream too! The man's name was Gabriel—he had golden-blonde hair and crystal-blue eyes. The woman was in full armor, except her head was uncovered. She had flowing silver hair and crimson eyes… she looked like she was half-vampire, half-dragon. Her name was Shizuoka Aurelisse. And then there was Ruby… she wore a red coat, with green eyes and blond hair. In my dream, her hood was off, so I could clearly see her face. I could hear them talking, but… I didn't understand their words."

Mikaela placed her hand over her chest, steadying herself. Her voice softened. "Amethyst… that wasn't a dream. That was a vision. Memories, maybe, from someone—or something—that wants to be remembered."

She looked up, eyes distant, as if recalling ancient knowledge buried deep within her blood.

"A very long time ago, two great beings—two lovers—arrived in this world from another dimension. They weren't gods, but they were something close. They fought against terrible monsters that could have destroyed everything. Together, they saved this world countless times. People came to call them the Heroes of Calamity.

For a while, they lived happily here. They even had a daughter. And when that daughter grew, she gave birth to their grandchild…" Mikaela's voice grew quieter, almost mournful. "But then, one day, without warning, the two vanished. Disappeared from this world forever."

Amethyst listened, his fists tightening. "So… Gabriel… Shizuoka… Ruby… they weren't just my dreams? They were real?"

Mikaela nodded. "Yes. Their daughter became the ancestor of many bloodlines across the world. Their legacy lives on, even though they vanished. And because of them… the world stopped producing the monsters of pure evil. They sealed away that curse with their own power."

Silence hung between them, heavy with mystery. Then, Crystal tugged Amethyst's sleeve gently, her voice trembling.

"Hey… Brother," she whispered, "I had a strange dream too…"
