"Ugh..."
In the bathroom, Sakura knelt by the sink, dry heaving repeatedly. She had already known that the Hell Viewing technique was brutal, but the actual effect still unsettled her more than she expected.
Naruto gently patted Sakura's back, his face filled with concern. Sasuke leaned against the doorway, watching the pale-faced Sakura and said, "Seeing blood is something every ninja must experience. If you can't even handle this much, there's no point in continuing to be a ninja!"
"I just feel a little queasy—that's all! It's not a big deal!" Sakura took several deep breaths, centering herself. Before she became a ninja, she had only been an ordinary person—though killing chickens or fish didn't bother her, she had never actually killed anyone before. And to make matters worse, her very first kill happened to be this violently disturbing. If it were possible, she would've gladly blurred her vision to block out the scene.
"It's your own doing, so what's there to complain about?" Sasuke scoffed. While saying those words, he himself also felt slightly nauseous inside, but being someone who always hides his feelings behind coldness, how could he possibly show any weakness at a time like this?
"The Dazuna household had nearly died from fear, so why did these two bystanders seem completely unaffected?" Sakura asked puzzledly.
"Disgusted? You're asking *me* about being disgusted?" Sasuke's expression darkened instantly. "When I was seven, my brother tortured me with Tsukuyomi repeatedly. Scenes of my entire clan getting slaughtered played on loop in my mind for a long time. Do you really think I'd be shaken up by something like this?"
Back then, he had been forced by Itachi to relive the massacre of the Uchiha clan countless times through Tsukuyomi. Though they were illusions, the images remained deeply etched into his mind. Compared to witnessing his whole family wiped out, a small scene like this was practically nothing.
"What about you then?" Sakura shifted uncomfortably and quickly turned her gaze toward Naruto. He hadn't gone through anything like what Sasuke had—so why could he stay so calm?!
"Every training session, Kurama's chakra floods my mind with endless hatred, overwhelming me with visions of countless vengeful spirits." Naruto scratched his head with that familiar sheepish grin. "Sure, the Nine-Tails grudgingly listens to Sakura now, but I still have to put in the work to control its chakra. Each time my chakra connects with Kurama's, those screaming spirits flood my mind. Over time, though, I've just trained myself to become numb to it."
"So I'm the only one who's still just a sheltered blossom, untouched by bloodshed and pain!"
Reaching out to splash some water onto her face, Sakura couldn't help but wear a helpless bitter smile. She seemingly possessed immense power, yet she lacked the composure needed to control it. That was precisely why Sakura had always hesitated to use too much of the Infinite Stones' power. Excessive power could change a person's mindset—without adequate inner strength, such power would eventually spiral out of control and bring disaster upon the world.
"Sakura is still a cherry blossom waiting to bloom. But one day, that bud will finally open—and that's when she'll show her most beautiful form!" Naruto said earnestly.
"Cherry blossoms blooming? That day doesn't seem far anymore," Sakura gave a soft laugh. A person must endure trials to truly shine; like jade, beauty emerges through shaping. Flowers only become more beautiful after enduring wind and rain. Life's journey inevitably involves many trials, and these experiences—good or bad—are what ultimately shape a brilliant existence.
Since witnessing Sakura's alarmingly brutal side, Dazuna had practically taken to avoiding her altogether. Even Inori became as meek as a mouse facing a cat when confronted by Sakura, behaving submissively and unusually well-mannered.
Even Zabuza now acted respectfully—what choice did he have? The girl's destructive potential was genuinely terrifying. Even someone like him, hardened by the trials of the Bloody Image era and a member of the Seven Swords of the Bloody Mist, found it hard to withstand the pressure. For the sake of his own life, he figured it was safest to just keep his head down.
Perhaps in hopes of getting rid of Sakura and the others as soon as possible, Dazuna's construction progress seemed to fly through the sky itself. Within just a few short days, the bridge was already nearly completed. However, the bridge builders looked exhausted from working night and day. Particularly Dazuna himself appeared with a pale, drained look on his face.
"Ah, um... Could I trouble you all to name the bridge?" Dazuna asked carefully while addressing Sakura and the others, secretly exhaling in relief. Finally, the bridge was finished—hard work day and night hadn't been for nothing. As long as they named it today and completed the last few minor finishing touches, he could successfully bid farewell to these young terrors. Heaven knows how frightened he'd felt throughout this period.
"Naming stuff is really troublesome!" The group looked at each other, clearly unsure what to suggest next.
Chapter 150: Wily Fox Kakashi [Upper Part]
"What about calling it 'Naruto Bridge'? How about that?" Naruto excitedly suggested with shining eyes.
"So basically, Naruto wants to get stepped on every day?" Sakura retorted with an unamused remark.
"Naruto Bridge? Then maybe call it 'Itachi and Sasuke Bridge' instead!" Sasuke mumbled nearby.
"You brother-obsessed jerk! Just shut up!" Sakura shot a glare, quickly silencing a certain tsundere "Sasuke-fan."
"How about 'Zabuza Bridge'?" Zabuza chimed in enthusiastically while patting his signature sword. "If not, 'Decapitation Bridge' also works!"
"Just shut up, all of you! If I have to rely on you guys for ideas, none of them are going to make any sense at all!" Sakura wearily rolled her eyes. Honestly, enough was enough.
"What should we call it then?" The group fell into another dilemma. Killing people wasn't an issue for them, but coming up with a name? Honestly? They were totally clueless!
"How about naming it Hope Bridge?" Sakura thought for a moment, then took out some paper and sketched several patterns while suggesting, "This bridge was originally built to bring hope to the people of the Land of Waves, so calling it Hope Bridge directly would be quite appropriate! And we should carve these patterns into the bridge piers where everyone can clearly see them!"
