Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Successful Face-hugging

Chapter 9: Successful Face-hugging

2023-07-20 Author: Great Demon Spirit

From the very beginning, Du Wa never positioned himself as a "good guy."

Because, very simply, he couldn't be a superhero.

It wasn't that he lacked a basic understanding of good and evil. Rather, it was because of the special power he controlled—the Xenomorphs. If it was ever revealed that they achieved transcendence by seizing a life form's lifelong power via parasitic chest-bursting, he would never be accepted by certain groups in this world.

Once exposed, even the most righteous superheroes would be wary of him and on high alert.

Therefore, from the start, when Du Wa reluctantly agreed to join this operation, he was after Abomination.

Blade, or rather, the S.H.I.E.L.D. that was evaluating him, would surely believe that this operation was Du Wa accepting the olive branch they had extended. In essence, he was using this action to indirectly express his goodwill and affinity towards them.

According to the normal course of events, the righteous-hearted Du Wa, willing to take risks for missions issued by S.H.I.E.L.D., would be evaluated and judged. Perhaps one day in the future, Du Wa would join one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s special teams as a superhero—not necessarily The Avengers, because S.H.I.E.L.D. had many special units under its command, and the still-forming Avengers was just one of them.

That was how the normal process should have gone. Du Wa did indeed fit the special "aesthetic" of certain people: he had a superior and special "power," possessed wisdom, and had a clean background. He was simply perfect.

Unfortunately, this was all a sham, built on the premise that they were unaware of the shockingly terrifying way the Xenomorph race expanded, or that its growth potential was fundamentally incalculable.

"It's difficult to become a superhero, but that doesn't matter. I never needed to bother trying to curry favor with those who couldn't care less. I'll just walk another path... I can't make everyone respect my character, but I can make everyone fear my power."

Du Wa's mind was exceptionally clear. As long as he wielded sufficiently formidable might, no problem was unsolvable.

Abomination was the key at this moment. As long as he could obtain Abomination and use his body to cultivate the first Warrior Xenomorph, Du Wa's overall strength would experience its first major leap.

Of course, if he truly succeeded, the result would be enough to shock the world, which would, in turn, formally expose Du Wa and the Xenomorphs to many dangerous individuals. But Du Wa had no time to worry about such trivial details. He would deal with it after securing Abomination.

As long as his strength grew faster than the crises arrived, any form of risky operation was worth it. The key was that the inherent nature of a creature like the Xenomorph meant that with the right host, the speed of its transformation would be unbelievably exaggerated.

Swish!

Du Wa took out an egg.

Four petals opened, and a face-hugger silently crawled out.

Abomination failed to see this, but Mr. Blue, hiding in a corner while praying for The Presence's favor to not be killed by flying debris, saw it all as he stared, mesmerized, at the Xenomorph.

What was that? Judging by its size, it seemed like an ostrich egg, but its shell was soft. And a strange creature crawled out of it, moving nimbly, its target seemingly...

Abomination.

Mr. Blue jumped in fright, unable to believe his eyes. How dare such a little thing, a newborn at that, have designs on Abomination?

"No matter what method it uses, it will definitely fail. Abomination is my proudest creation. Even if he's swarmed to death by those creatures that can release strong acid, he won't lose to a little thing like that," the thought flashed through Mr. Blue's mind.

From the look of the battle, although Abomination was in a sorry state, his strong body torn and tattered, he had not been defeated. As time went on, the formidable power from his Hulk bloodline was rapidly healing his injuries, and his anger was also slowly increasing his strength.

Although the growth momentum quickly stopped, perhaps because the serum's potential had been exhausted, he could still easily throw punches with a hundred tons of force. If a Xenomorph was so much as grazed, it would be either dead or severely injured.

As the battle continued, Xenomorphs were constantly being killed, not even leaving behind complete corpses. But even in death, the Xenomorphs would use their last ounce of strength to die on Abomination, letting their blood spatter all over him, which inflicted even more horrific wounds.

This level of attrition was gradually becoming too much for even Abomination to bear.

"Not bad, little bugs, but it's not enough! You think you're worthy of fighting me with just this much power?!"

Abomination sneered. In just a short while, he had already finished off five Xenomorphs, and the five strongest ones at that. Most of those remaining were of a smaller model.

Even though one of his own arms and shoulder had been corroded down to the bone, he had, in the end, held on.

Victory belonged to the strong, to the great Abomination. So he thought. He would finish off these bugs, then find Du Wa and cruelly crush him. Then he would find a place to rest, and finally, he would eliminate Hulk to prove that he was the strongest, and that his pursuit of power was not wrong!

Just then, as Abomination felt a trace of fatigue and rejoiced at his imminent victory, the face-hugger found its opportunity. Perched on a messenger's back, it waited for Abomination to grab for it, then fully demonstrated its extraordinary agility. It scurried rapidly along the bones of Abomination's fingers and successfully leaped onto his face.

"What is this thing?"

Abomination exerted force with both hands, first tearing the messenger Xenomorph in half. That was too easy for him; dealing with Xenomorphs born from parasitizing ordinary mammals was a one-shot affair.

But his arrogance still made him fall into the trap. Who would have thought that the real killing blow would be such a little thing?

Even with Abomination's immense power, he felt a moment of dizziness after the face-hugger latched onto him. But the dizziness was quickly washed away by rage. He pinched the unresponsive face-hugger with two fingers and slammed it viciously against the wall, smashing it into a pulp.

Sizzle!

The remains of the face-hugger burst open, likewise causing the wall to corrode.

"Such a little thing has this kind of blood in its body too? The scientist who made this thing is truly insane, but the power gained this way can't compare to mine at all."

Only ultimate power was the future. This was the conclusion Abomination had reached after observing Hulk and personally obtaining a portion of his power.

It seemed he would have to work harder, kill all these disgusting creatures, and then finish off that young man of unknown origin who insisted on opposing him.

But when Abomination turned with a ferocious expression to hunt the other Xenomorphs, he was surprised to see them rapidly retreating and gathering together. The young man had also appeared at a greater distance at some point.

"Blonsky, we will meet again soon, in another form."

A smile bloomed on Du Wa's face. After confirming the parasitism was a success, the stone in his heart was finally lifted. No matter how wildly Abomination roared, he now found the big fellow rather cute.

The more majestic and powerful he was, the more gratified Du Wa felt, like a benevolent old father.

Abomination's eyes were red with fury. He had paid a huge price and suffered serious damage without even having a chance to savor the feeling. He immediately grabbed a piece of reinforced concrete and hurled it violently at Du Wa.

Du Wa stood his ground, unmoving, his expression gentle. The five remaining Xenomorphs acted in unison, blocking in front of Du Wa. They extended their claws and flipped it upwards together, sending the reinforced concrete flying with a loud bang.

As the dust settled, Du Wa's face was revealed.

Extremely elegant, completely composed.

Abomination roared and charged forward with large strides. Du Wa leaped and easily appeared over ten meters away. This clearly superhuman physique shocked even Abomination.

After Du Wa successfully escaped, this series of actions left Abomination unable to comprehend what had happened.

"Next time we meet, I will definitely kill this bastard!!" Abomination wasted no time repairing his wounds, sullenly punching the wall. He shook a piece of the ceiling down, which smashed onto his head.

"But we don't know who he is," Mr. Blue said.

Abomination kicked out, nearly causing the poor Mr. Blue to explode. But, whether by luck or misfortune, Mr. Blue crashed into a bottle of Hulk serum that he hadn't finished using and had carefully sealed.
