Chapter 1 - Our First Encounter

Prologue:

I walked into the school cafeteria, scanning the crowded room for an empty table. That's when I saw him - the guy with the charming smile and messy hair, holding court with his friends.

As I passed by, he accidentally knocked over his drink, spilling it all over my dress.

"Oops! Sorry, Miss Buttercup!" he exclaimed.

I glared at him. "Watch where you're going, Mr. Mitochondria."

He grinned. "Well, I guess you're new here. Let's introduce ourselves properly. I'm Jake..." He offered a handshake.

I refused, my eyes flashing. "I don't waste my time talking to losers like you."

He winked at me. "I never mind talking to class clowns like you."

My face burned with annoyance. "Excuse me?"

He chuckled. "You seem like someone I'd love to get to know better. Rosy, right?"

I crossed my arms. "How did you know my name?"

"Let's just say I have my ways," he said, still grinning.

I turned to leave, but he called out, "Hey, Rosy! Looks like you're wearing the special of the day - strawberry smoothie!"

I shot him a look, and he laughed.

As I walked out of the cafeteria, I couldn't shake off the feeling that our encounter was just the beginning.
