Xiao Huahua put on her clothes and went to open the door.
Butler Wang was standing respectfully at the doorway, with two attendants behind him pushing food trolleys.
"Good afternoon, miss," he greeted with a polite smile upon seeing her.
"Is that lunch?"
A voice came from inside—Cai Kun's voice. "If it's here, just bring it in."
Without suspicion, Butler Wang personally took the trolley and pushed it into the lounge area.
Cai Kun was sitting on the sofa, casually playing on his phone.
"Mr. Cai, this is the lunch you ordered, prepared by our executive chef. I hope it meets your satisfaction."
With a slight bow, Butler Wang began uncovering the dishes one by one. Immediately, the aroma of gourmet food filled the lounge.
"Private Recipe Sunflower Chicken."
"Cherry Foie Gras."
"Traditional Steamed Giant Grouper."
"Handmade Noodles with Truffle Sauce."
"Lobster Rice Soup à la Imperial Style."
"And finally, the dessert: Mango Pomelo Sago."
...
Each exquisite dish was presented before Cai Kun and Xiao Huahua. Everything looked refined and extravagant.
Though the portions weren't large, they were perfectly sized for two.
Xiao Huahua was surprised. She didn't expect Chinese food at a hotel to be so luxurious.
Looking at the vibrant, aromatic dishes, she couldn't help but swallow hard. Her stomach had already begun protesting.
Butler Wang smiled and said, "Since I wasn't familiar with your preferences, Mr. Cai, we prepared a traditional Chinese-style menu. If anything isn't to your liking, please let me know, and I'll ask the chef to make adjustments."
"No problem. This is fine."
Cai Kun nodded lightly. "Also, bring a bottle of wine for the meal."
"Certainly. Any specific vintage?"
"Doesn't need to be fancy. Just a regular red wine, something in the range of tens of thousands will do."
It wasn't that he couldn't afford the million-dollar wines—he absolutely could. But those were reserved for more formal occasions.
Spending that kind of money on an ordinary lunch would just come across as arrogant.
"We happen to have a 2009 vintage from Château Latour, priced at 51,000 yuan. Would that work?"
"Sure."
Butler Wang spoke a few words into his earpiece.
Soon, a staff member brought over the bottle. Butler Wang presented the label and branding for confirmation, then opened the cork and poured it into a decanter. As the ruby liquid flowed out, it released a rich oak aroma that lingered in the air.
He poured wine into the glasses for both of them, placed the goblets in front of them, and quietly left the room.
"Let's eat," Cai Kun said, picking up his chopsticks.
But Xiao Huahua remained motionless beside him.
He looked over, puzzled. "Why aren't you eating? You looked like you were starving just now, sneaking gulps of saliva."
Her cheeks flushed. She hadn't expected her little action to be caught.
"I've just never seen Chinese cuisine done like this before. It's so beautiful, I almost don't want to ruin it."
She whispered, "Spending this much on one meal... It's kind of overwhelming. I feel guilty even touching it."
"What's there to feel guilty about?"
Cai Kun raised a brow. "You work at Ferrari. You deal with rich people every day. Shouldn't this be normal for you?"
"But that's their money. Not mine," she said softly. "Just because I sell Ferraris doesn't mean I can afford one—or that I belong to their world."
Cai Kun was mildly impressed by her clarity.
Many who worked around luxury goods or high-end clients started to become arrogant, feeling superior just because of proximity to wealth.
"Stop overthinking."
He flicked her nose and smiled. "It's just a meal. Money's just numbers until you eat it. That's when it becomes yours."
"Right… a 50k bottle of red wine as table wine is just... average," she muttered, eyes gleaming.
Cai Kun chuckled but didn't argue. He simply nodded. "Let's eat."
"Wait! I need photos first."
She quickly snapped a dozen pictures of the dishes. Then, with 'accidental' finesse, took one of the city view outside the window. And casually included the Ritz-Carlton's location tag.
After sending them out, she finally put down her phone in satisfaction.
Cai Kun didn't mind. Everyone had their vanity. Especially women.
After a lavish meal, Xiao Huahua sprawled lazily on the couch, her perfect figure barely hidden beneath her robe.
Cai Kun's interest was sparked. He leaned over. "Looks like you're well rested. You were kind of stiff with those 'mini-games' last night. Want me to help you train a little more?"
"No more! I'll fall apart if you keep going!" she cried out in mock panic.
But she couldn't resist him and soon had no choice but to play the 'games' again.
An hour later, sore and flushed, Xiao Huahua gave him a sultry eye-roll before dragging herself into the bathroom.
She came out soon after, surprisingly dressed in the same clothes from yesterday. Her hair had been neatly tied up again.
"Ugh, thanks to you, my uniform's basically ruined."
She gestured at her wrinkled, stained Ferrari outfit. "I have to work tomorrow, and I don't even know if it'll dry in time after washing."
"Then don't go," Cai Kun said lightly.
"No can do. My supervisor only approved one and a half days off."
She narrowed her eyes. "What, you planning to keep me like some pampered house pet?"
"I'll take care of you," Cai Kun replied without hesitation.
She gazed at him for a few seconds, then smiled faintly.
"As much as I'd love to stay... not working makes me feel like a bird in a gilded cage. Going to work at least gives me some independence."
"So I have to go."
She stood up, giving him a mock-accusatory look. "Besides, it gives you private time to go flirt around behind my back. At least I won't have to see it."
Cai Kun thought for a moment and felt her reasoning wasn't wrong. He didn't object.
"Alright. I'll drive you back."
Xiao Huahua lit up instantly and kissed him. "You're the best."
...
They went to the underground parking lot and drove off in the Lamborghini, heading toward her rental in an older district of Shanghai.
Half an hour later, they arrived.
The roads were muddy, not ideal for a low-suspension sports car. Cai Kun raised the chassis to navigate the area and eventually reached the entrance of her neighborhood.
He couldn't drive in further—the space was too narrow.
"Just stop here. It's only a short walk. I'll be fine."
Xiao Huahua was in a great mood.
"Thanks, darling."
She leaned in and kissed him again, preparing to leave.
"Wait."
Cai Kun grabbed her phone, opened her banking app, and transferred 1 million yuan to her on the spot.
Handing the phone back, he glanced at the old buildings nearby and frowned. "This place isn't safe. You shouldn't live here alone. Go rent something nicer, closer to your job."
"That way, it's safer and more convenient."
Xiao Huahua stared at the transfer confirmation. "Aren't you afraid I'll run off with your money?"
"Your legs are yours. If you want to run, what could I do?"
"But that's a million yuan! I'm not worth that much."
Cai Kun smiled. "My woman can't be measured by money."
She looked at the handsome young man in front of her and realized... she had completely fallen for him.
"Of course," Cai Kun added, "if you use my money to go keep some young boy toy, I won't let you off."
"Pfft!"
She burst into laughter and lightly punched his arm. "I was seriously touched just now. You ruined it again."
"You're the worst!"
Then she hugged him again, smiling sweetly.
Cai Kun was nearly a perfect man. Handsome, tall, generous, considerate.
If only he weren't such a playboy...
Despite just spending one day with him, she had the sudden urge to marry him and bear his children.
But deep down, she knew she was being greedy.
If Cai Kun weren't a little wild, someone like her would never have had a chance.
She sighed softly. "I'll call the agency later and go look for a better apartment."
"Now you can relax, right?"
Cai Kun nodded.
Even though she said she was leaving, Xiao Huahua still seemed reluctant.
She only rushed out of the car when Cai Kun's hands started wandering again.
Her neatly tied hair was already messy, and her clothes were rumpled.
Especially near the headlights...
"You troublemaker."
She shot him a playful glare, then broke into a smile.
Her heart was completely full.
"I'm going now!"
She waved, and Cai Kun waved back.
Wearing heels, she walked along the muddy path, her face glowing.
"Lan Qianqian! You've really disappointed me!"
Suddenly, an angry voice rang out.
